At 24 through salary, just a few months after I started working.

Since then I've made and lost millions trying to grow wealth. Bought land, shares and last year, crypto. Also ventured into several online investments where I gained and lost as well.
If only I had clairvoyant abilities and know when to cash out. Recently lost 4m to crypto and I'm selling what's left .
Looking for new investment ideas.

When elections come (just like Saturday's bye-elections with APC 3 vs PDP 0) and the masses choose Govt of Infrastructure over Share the money party, do not wail so much.
Go and ask Kwarans how Ilorin-Jebba road was killing them throughout PDP's wasted years of looting.
Nigerian electorates are now wise. They know who's working hard for them and who has their interest at heart.
Those who prefer looting era can relocate to Afghanistan.

It depends on the polling unit. It might belong to a top PDP chieftain or the party's candidate.
Just like Dogara's LGA in Bauchi South Senatorial election where PDP won but lost the entire election to APC.

Result form Toro, Bauchi state pu013 APC 81 and PDP 69 , rejected votes 2. The elections were free and Fair. There is no tension or disorder. The party agent has signed the result sheet.

I'm an engineer by profession but I know some political economics.
Floating simply means allowing market forces to determine the actual value of the naira.
Floating the naira now is a dangerous step to take. This will take the exchange rate to close to $1 = N1000. Inflation will definitely triple. That means a bag of rice will be 50k.

High oil price is what gives the naira value as most of our foreign earnings come from oil and gas sales.

Nigeria needs to gradually diversify its economy away from oil and reduce its imports especially on items that consume our foreign reserve the most like petroleum products, rice, wheat and steel.

In summary, produce these items locally and possibly export them (after which we can then float the naira), so that the strength of the naira can rely on other things apart from oil.

This govt has previously said it plans to float the naira by 2022 based on its target of producing those 4 items locally by then.

As an example, Egypt relies less on oil than Nigeria. They floated their currency last year and the exchange rate went from 1USD = 9 EGP to 1USD = 18 EGP. That's a 100% loss of value with its attendant inflation.

This guy just wants to ruin the very fragile Nigerian economy by this singular action.
You can't float when the economy is still almost totally import dependent. Boost local production and export of certain goods that consume most of our fx, and then you initiate a float.

You can only attract short-term investors with a float. The same short-term investors will eventually take their money out when election comes because they don't trust the democratic stability of Nigeria and many African countries yet.

Build infrastructure and long-term investors will come in and set up industries in Nigeria. We have a huge market already.

That's why you may or can not get any of the visas.
Most of the VOs (Visa Officers) are smart and 90% of the time can tell the true intentions of the applicant if he'll return or not.

Also, that's why the default answer to a Nigerian seeking those visas is No, unless you can prove otherwise.
Nigerians who abused visas have messed up things for fellow Nigerians. Even poorer African countries than Nigeria don't get bad treatments in visa applications or during travels.

I am surprised? No. Because a typical Nigerian is selfish and only cares about himself. If others have to suffer for his actions (of escaping using visit visas), so be it, provided he has "successfully escaped". That's why it's now almost impossible to get US or Canada visa as a Nigerian irrespective of your travel history.

It's not enough to just make simple statements, do something about it.

I had the exact same experience as this Aremu Afolayan guy at MMIA in January this year.

I was yet to get out of the car at the departure terminal when a policeman approached me to find him something. I weak!

Then those at the entrance denied my sister entry into the airport. I was like... What nonsense! Since when?
Then they sensed I could be a frequent traveller and said...since yesterday. I had to cause trouble before they allowed her in. The policemen later said I should have settled him. I just shook my head in shame.

In fact, Lagos airport is just a market place.

Inside the airport, I had about ten different staffs trying to get money from me. From the airline staff, to customs, immigration, several unnecessary search points, loitering errand boys, toilet cleaners, etc. all trying to make you miss your flight unless you settle them. They always make me board just few minutes before the plane doors are closed.
Corrupt souls that are never satisfied with their salaries!

The minister of Interior, Dambazau must implement reforms in all his agencies(police, immigration, customs, prison, etc.) as almost all his personnel are greedy thieves. Place cameras watching them one by one and sack anyone caught asking for money.

I love being a private citizen and living a private life, but to join govt and fight these corrupt souls out of business come dey hungry me nowadays.

The govt is paying for the road in form of some tax holiday for Dangote, Flour Mills and others involved. FG mustn't pay cash upfront.

This road was an impassable disaster under PDP with no plans to fix it. Please let the tankers not turn it to another parking lot after commissioning.

Slowly and steadily, we'll rebuild our country.
Gradually, one road, one rail, one power plant, one airport, one block of housing, one inland port, etc. will be completed and put to use for the benefit of Nigerians.

Our developed Nigeria will become the hub of industries in Africa, such that Nigerians will no longer see the need to travel out for greener pastures.

I have said it over and over again that Innoson isn't ready for commercial business yet. No marketing and TV adverts at all!
I wanted to buy IVM 3yrs ago because of my passion to grow Nigerian brands. (I usually first check products in grocery stores and pick Nigerian-made brands ahead of imported ones.)
I couldn't find any information online or on TV about how to buy IVM cars.
I even went as far as pointing it out on IVM's Facebook page last year, hoping to see a change. For where!

I still vividly remember the Izuzu, Bedford and Toyota adverts on TV in the 90s.

The annoying part of everything is how some of our Igbo brothers and friends include this among several unwarranted claims of marginalisation by the federal govt. (Even though this govt has patronised IVM the most - if not the only one)

Abeokuta ke? Is that the route of the main track? Or does it branch off to abeokuta? Seems unreasonable to want to catch an express train to lagos at 6am from ibadan to go through abeokuta.

However, if this train doesn't go through redemption camp I'll be thoroughly disappointed. It would help the situation during their monthly holy ghost nights immeasurably. Imagine the revenue on those days, even if its just once a month!! At least 300k to 500k people (guessing) go there from lagos every month. Not to mention those from ibadan environs and abeokuta environs.

Yes, that is the route of the main track, Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan. And I think the old narrow gauge currently being revamped by GE passes through Abeokuta too.

In building railway largest cities are prioritised to convey the largest volume of traffic. Despite that Sagamu has the shortest distance to Ibadan, you can't expect the FG to build railway there simply because of churches that meet there occasionally.

Nevertheless, It'll still take under 1hr from Lagos to Ibadan through Abeokuta because this is a high speed train.

I don't know about Ibadan. Only been there once.
The last time I checked weeks ago, not all locations for the train stations have been decided, especially at the Ibadan end. But most Lagos and Ogun stations have been sited.

There will be 10 train stations in all between Lagos and Ibadan and you can board from any of them.
Of the 10, 4 will be in Lagos: Apapa, Ebute-Metta, Agege and Alagbado stations.
Mega station just means bigger station with additional facilities like shopping mall and possibly entertainment facilities.

AutoReportNG, It'll be sited at Ebute-Metta (not Iddo) where the old railway station will be demolished for this one.
Apapa terminal will also have a mega station, while the remaining two mega train stations will be in Abeokuta and Ibadan.

Former governors Joshua Dariye(current APC Senator) and Jolly Nyame who defected have been convicted and are in jail now. Which governor did PDP govt convict?

Orji Uzor Kalu is still in court. Dariye recently sought APC ticket to return but was denied by the NWC for being a convict. Was it not under PDP that crooks were given party tickets and were winning elections from jail?

For the records, this govt has been more interested in recovering looted funds than in prosecuting looters. All those it charged to court like Metuh, Dokpesi, etc. were people who refused to return their loots. Same Metuh and Mama Piss who were initially stubborn later begged the EFCC to allow them return their loots, having seen that they had a tight case against them. The EFCC later refused.

As for looting, if its happening, at least half of it would be reported by online publishers. These days they are simply stuck with faulting this govt's compliance with procurement laws, as corruption has become scanty to report.
I had full ears reading on Premium Times and Sahara about the massive looting that happened daily under PDP era.

For electricity and general infrastructure, they are gradually getting fixed.
If you want videos of a public speaker, go and support Durotoye, not Atiku.

Buhari has had his shortcomings but I still prefer him by far to Atiku, and All Projects Completed by far to Projects Dumping Party.

We've all experienced 16yrs of PDP and 3.5yrs of APC since 1999.
We all know the difference between how the country has been governed so far in terms of corruption, building national infrastructure, security, agriculture, etc. Except you are a teenager.

Many people are very realistic and certainly know that only the APC or PDP currently has the capacity to win presidential elections in Nigeria.

You expect sane (who do not harbour any political hatred for any persons) Nigerians who have the development of the country at heart to support PDP?

Please tell us in clear terms how this govt has failed in comparison with where we're coming from. Maybe that'll make some neutral Nigerians to reason with you

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has officially announced the commencement of its free train ride service along the completed Itakpe - Warri line.

This service will run free of charge up till December 2018.

This is the third Standard Gauge rail line completed by this administration after the Abuja - Kaduna rail and Abuja Metro. While the Lagos-Ibadan rail will be completed in the next few months.

Let Nigerians know that they can now enjoy this service.

The difference is that GEJ always mixed politics with development.
Fashola got the first $100m World Bank loan under Yaradua. GEJ came in and stopped Fashola from accessing subsequent tranches of the world bank loan meant to complete this project simply due to party differences.

Fashola had to terminate Julius Berger's contract and use little funds from Lagos' budget to build what he could using CCECC.

Buhari came in and Lagos was able to re-access the world bank loans under Ambode. So Ambo has no excuse whatsoever.

You see the difference?

Tinubu chose Fashola and that was a great decision to all Lagosians and APC faithfuls.

Same Tinubu chose Ambode after Fashola had interviewed Ambo and found him not good enough. Everyone had to trust and queue behind Tinubu's decision.

Now party members and many lagosians do not want Ambode again, so Tinubu has respected their decisions.

No leader without followers. No Tinubu without Lagos APC members and Lagosians.

Lagos cannot tolerate any little form of retrogression (dirtiness and incomplete projects). The high standard has been set already.

When I heard of the postponement of the Lagos Blue line's completion to 2022 was when I concluded that Ambo has to go.

Instead of simply continuing from where Fashola stopped in a govt of the same party, Ambo decided to do his own meaningless projects like Oshodi-Abulegba BRT and VisionlessScape.

Lagos needs continuity. Not the kind of project abandonments PDP is known for.

Love is a scam. Most times each person is looking out for his or her own benefits/interests in a relationship.

Love is also not blind, else a disabled person shouldn't struggle hard to find love.

We just have checklists and when we find someone who ticks them all, we claim to have found love.

Firstly, good physical appearance. (the less makeup the better)

Then being ambitious and less materialistic is next. (being female is no excuse not to want the best out of life through your hard work)

Lastly, be generally smart. (don't want to get crazy over your poor decision-making and poor judgement ability)

What I don't understand for the life of me is that why an important component such as the tail rotor does not have redundancy. Any failure of that component is always catastrophic and survival from a tail rotor malfunction almost always results in casualties even if the craft hasn't lifted off. Why can't safety authorities insist that a helicopter must operate with two independent tail rotors...

.... And make them ducted, that is completely encased as there are speculations the rotor may have been hit by a large bird or drone....

.... Or why not change the entire mechanism and replace the rotors with laterally mounted mini jet engines or duct exhaust gases from the turbine engines to the tail section to counter the main rotor to provide stability. It appear helicopter design has not evolved properly.

Good ideas for the first two.

But for the last, helicopter is helicopter because of its propulsion mechanism - gets it lift and drag forces from the rotor blades.
While airplanes derive propulsion from their jet engines.
Changing helicopter mechanisms to turbines simply means making it an airplane.
