US official correspondences hardly begins with the above quote from the invitation. That writing above is Nigerian.

Nigerians will write and say, 'I hope and pray that this my mail meets you well'. If you are conversant with Nigerians style of writing, the above is a typical starting way. Oyibo hardly writes this way or ask you how was your night, weekend or family. They go straight to the point. They don't "pray that their mail finds you in good health or state of mind".

One of the major things we lack in this Country is Sympathy. I don't know if my assumption is worthy of further assessment but I think this lack of Sympathy is worse off in Lagos.
