praiseG: Good people. Please I need your clarification on the issue of transcript to Wes.though I've checked the site but still dnt get all.my question is that is it my school here that will send it to wes or what's my role there to play.also does this transcript sent to wes has validity period pending the time of any need for it.thank u all and pls respond
Thanks for this question. I know a little but would like others to enlighten us more.
WES stands for World Education Services. It's an International Credential
Evaluation platform (visit www.wes.org). The advantage of WES is that, the transcript provided through them is trusted, recognized and acceptable by International Universities and educational bodies.
Now to your question, I believe it's important you register an account first and early on their website. Then, download a form to be taken to your faculty/dept. in school.
Fill the form and submit to your school/Faculty/Dept*, it would authorize/instruct them to send your transcript to WES. Now, it may involve some payment to your school to expedite process of sending your transcript to WES.
Once your transcript gets to WES, it would be converted to US GPA*. The converted result, I believe can be sent to your intending School by WES on your instruction. Your transcript, I believe should be available as long as WES exist.*
I guess you might be able to view/download* your new transcript.

*NEEDS SUPPORTING EVIDENCE
Hope this helps...

kevwe_flex: Happy New Year to all. It's New Year let's merry, BTW, would have loved to post an important resource but for the atmosphere of the thread, I'd rather wait for the right time.
Hmmnn.. the atmosphere want to make me selfishly ask you to PM me the important resource smiley ...we don't wanna start that.

Doublegold: @Obatide, compliment of the season bro, pls, when are u going for ur visa pick-up. I've been dialing the number on thhe form, it's not going thru bro.
It bothers me, the number has always been unreachable. Even the website is not loading. Do we just wait out 5-7 working days before visiting them? Disappointment at "visa not ready for pickup" is not an option for someone coming from say Abuja o. Please, has anyone ever communicated with this Visa collection centre? If yes, how? Kindly enlighten us. Thanks!

I'm sorry for delay, had to make up for my absence at work. Here it goes...

Woke up in a rush and sped to the bathroom. Apparently, the alarm has been ringing in my dreams. Just then, I woke up and realised I've been dreaming. I panicked and checked the time, it was past 2am.

I couldn't sleep again so I stayed awake for about an hour until I decided to sleep with an eye open.

Sleep took me away for a while. I got up exactly 4am at the sound of the alarm. Took my birth and dress up under 20min. I said my prayers and by 4:45am, I was out trekking from (LEGICO/Bonny camp), where I lodged, to the embassy. I got there by 5am and met several people waiting expectantly.

Let me skip the preview. I scaled through security and held my visa payment receipt, blue card and number tag with care. I perceived they were answering the elderly and applicants with derivatives. Along the line, it got confusing as people were called irrespective of who or when they arrived. Then, my number showed on widow 15; prayer answered because the CO appeared pleasant all along!
Me: Good morning
CO: Morning, I'll need to get your fingerprints, 4 fingers of your hand, of your right hand and the 2 thumbs at once.
Me: I obliged ...
CO: Good, kindly raise your right hand.
Me: Raising my right..
CO: Do you swear to tell the truth today and that every information you entered on your form is true?
Me: Yes
CO: please sign on the yellow marking..
Me: I did..
CO: Could you tell me your date of birth?
Me: I did
CO: What's your highest level of education?
Me: University degree
CO: Which course?
Me: English
CO: What year?
-All the while, she was cross-checking everything I said with what she had on her computer.
Me: May, 2007
CO: What do you do now?
Me: I told her...
CO: Where?
Me: ....Ibadan
CO: When and where did you do your NYSC?
Me: I told her...
CO: What was your task?
Me: English instructor
CO: Was it a primary or secondary School?
Me: Secondary school.
CO: When did you complete your NYSC?
Me: I told her...
CO: Is it June or July?
Me: I'm not sure,
- I discovered it was July, I'd mentioned June.
CO: Are you.married?
Me: No
CO: Any child?
Me: No
She smiled...I guess she was saying in her mind, "you're getting old boy." "Don't worry, I got plans," I told myself. She reached for two papers. She circled a portion and said pointing to the portion still smiling...
CO: Please visit this address between 5 and10 working days to pick your visa. You should consider xmas holidays too. Holding the second paper, she continued. Ensure you pay USCIS fees after receiving your visa package.
Welcome to the United States of America!
Me: Thank you, I wish you a pleasant Christmas!

I picked up the papers and left radiating with joy from the dept of my bone marrows. I'd kept my phones (I rmoved the sims) with some soldiers whom I gave 1k to share out of joy.
Had to caution myself not to bounce...lol. It's th Lord's doing and it's so marvelous in my eyes!

I'd like to appreciate every member of this forum. Gurus in the house, don't wanna mention names, much gratitude to attending to all queries. May God reward your good hearts.I also appreciate one who'd contributed one way or the other, especially the novice. Your being down to earth to ask questions gave so many others opportunity and confidence to make it at the interview.

I wish everyone waiting peace and patient heart, everyone with 2nd NL easy medical /police exams and successful interviews, everyone with visa great providence, safest flight to destination and great success in the USA! Much love...

During the 2013 set, I read of some members giving the mopol around to help keep their personal effects, at the end, they give them a token like 1k. You may want to use that as well if you wish.
It's nice tip from Kevwe_flex, if people can afford it. I guess keeping ur stuff dat way is close-by and safer too if you're alone.

You will go through many security checks and if anything is found that u can't take, they won't seize it. They will just send u outside to go and drop it and start the process again from the very back of the line. Phone is a definite no. If u check out of the hotel, process you can make arrangements for the hotel to hold your things till u return.check but since check out time is 12noon in most hotels, you undecided not to check out till you return.
Okeymen, thanks for your advice. I think I'll go with it, don't wanna be sent back to the end of d line. lol...I'll keep my stuff safe somewhere. I'll advise everybody to do d same to avoid unnecessary hiccup.

Yeah, some truth element that we all must come to terms with. A songwriter wrote about "beggars on the street of New York". It's about the state of mind (some form discrimination exist every where, we just have to "gbo'ju" and believe in God and ourselves).
It takes determination to succeed by making sacrifices. *Sacrifice: I have friend struggling with a job while studying Applied Computer Science in Canada. It was tough for him. Everyone around him looks very okay with more money because some of them work 2 jobs or more. Of course, they got to there before him, but now his story is about to change (God's part), he would be retained in a federal estab. after his internship. He would work normal hours and could earn 3x or more the amount other guys earn in single job! He would overtake them and they'll be like we got here first. Schooling can't be a wrong decision.
For some of us who would want to start afresh, furthering our education should be a must. Even more is the fact that skills or work experiences CREATIVITY, I discover rules the developed world today. That's why a guy like Mark Zuckërburg...you'll already know my people. Let's stay in tune with God, He's just getting started with us ...He surely lead us to an expected end. I love you all smiley

This medical fee make sense o! I've read about ppl spending like 35k or more. Pls my brothers and sisters, I've got some questions-
*Can the medical tests be completed in 2days?
*My friend won in 2009. After her first visit, she went back for another shot of injection after a week or so. Has anyone ever gone back after more than week to complete the test?

Where do you get that from?
It's only LagosIV@state.gov that does not accept attachment, don't give mis-leading information pls

You may post your proof if you disagree
Well, I guess I must have read it somewhere. The info could be referring to LagosIV. I'd say since some people have successfully attached their forms, there's no problem. @Obatide and Kevwe, appreciate your correction.

XYZZ: I went to Alagbon around 12pm, due to the medical, if I went early I could have collected the police charater same day, but the police office told me to come back on Monday. For the medicals, my self and my wife paid 12k each, my son is a year and 6 months, so we paid 7k for him for the first stage. After payment we were told to do our x-ray/blood test and see the doctor. The doctor said my son will need 2 immunizations which was N25,600 and myself and my wife do one vaccination each at per vaccination 2k. That was all, we were asked to come on Thursday or Friday for the result. Its always better to go with ur child's medical records or immunization records if u have them. We paid through POS, they will not accept cash on weekends. And it is better to go early on a saturday cos the crowd will be less.
Please, apart from the 12k and 2k you have paid as an adult, will you still pay when you go for your results? Also, can we know the name of that medical outfit. Thanks!
