PoliticsRe: Rumor Of Boko Haram Plan To Bomb Lagos – How True? by omanzo02: 10:11pm On Aug 26, 2011
The reactions to the bombing of boko haram in the north have proved the fact that other part (SS,SE,SW) of the country only cares about their region, If they like they can distroy their north, but note this, if they bomb anywhere in the south with this senseless casualties, well they have made the breaking up of Nigeria easier for those who are waiting for the opportunity. MEND bombing of Atlas cove was not targeted at human casualty but oil infrastructures, and they apologized for the unfortunate calsualty.
PoliticsShocker: Dna Test Reveals ex Gov. Audu Not Father Of Wife’s Daughter by omanzo02(op): 10:28am On Aug 26, 2011
From Tobi Soniyi in Abuja

A Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test conducted in the United States (US) to determine the paternity of a girl alleged to be the daughter of former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Abubakar Audu, has revealed that he is not the real father.

Prior to the conduct of the DNA test, Audu was alleged  to have believed that his former First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Audu, bore him a baby girl. However, following a rift between the two, it then became imperative to conduct a DNA test in order to determine the true paternity of the girl.

Aisha, it was gathered, had before a Montgomery County Court presided over by Justice Dennis Michael Mchugh, allegedly accused her husband of domestic violence, family abandonment in US, among others. Based on the allegations, she was said to have asked the court for an absolute divorce and payment of alimony, child support as well as absolute ownership of a property in America, belonging to a company where Audu had interest.

She had also allegedly wanted the house to be designated a family home to enable her claim it as part of her divorce settlement.
Interestingly, however, Aisha lost all grounds canvassed in the case, except that of the child support.

Audu, who had earlier told the court that he doubted the paternity of the new born baby, insisted that the paternity test through DNA be conducted to determine the father of the baby, noting that Aisha was pregnant for six months at the time she left his house for America. The result of the paternity test, it was gathered, showed negative, meaning that Audu was not the father of the baby.

While confirming the development, Audu said he had insisted that a DNA test be conducted because he was suspicious of his estranged wife. Audu, who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media  and Communications, Mr. Abraham Akogu, in Abuja said he could not: “Compromise his image built  over the years on the altar of cheap blackmail by a greedy woman.”

But Aisha prior to the test, had initially objected to the conduct of the DNA test, until the Montgomery County Court ordered her to submit herself for the test, a development which would have attracted contempt charge, if she had failed to surrender herself.

Following the result of the test, Audu was said to have insisted that a similar DNA test be carried out on the remaining two children for determination of their biological father. This will enable him to decide whether or not he will be liable for payment of child support of the two boys. Further hearing in the matter will take place in Maryland court on September 8, 2011.

PoliticsRe: How Chinese Firm Sabotages Power Supply – Fg by omanzo02: 11:15pm On Aug 22, 2011
Ha ha ha ha ha grin grin grin, these chinese are crooks, Last year the firm I worked for ordered some spare parts for a particular machine from china for some of their plant in Holland, France, Spain, Czech republic and Belgium because they were cheap, after spending time and money to replace the parts, within 4 months the parts were broke down and all attempt to recover the money and genuine spare parts proved abortive, the firm had to report the case to the EU trade and tech. standard office, after investigation, the chinese firm was censored from trading within the EU. We usually get those parts from sweden, but because they wanted to save cost, they got inferior replacement parts from 419 chinco's.

If u are strict with chinese u get the best from them.

I heard you and we went to work and today our Consumer Price Index records that inflation in Nigeria has dropped to 9.4% which is the lowest rate recorded in over three years as verified by sundry independent local and international agencies.

Please be assured that I read your comments here and take them into effect in decisions this administration makes. GEJ

PoliticsNigeria’s Foreign Policy Now Tied To Fdi by omanzo02(op): 12:06pm On Jul 21, 2011
Nigeria’s Foreign Policy Now Tied to FDI

Nigeria’s foreign policy is now tied to its most urgent need, foreign direct investment (FDI), Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Olugbenga Ashiru, has said.

Addressing journalists at the end of the present administration’s first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja Wednesday, Ashiru said under the new policy thrust, future overseas travels of President Goodluck Jonathan would be viewed from the standpoint of attracting investments as well as exposing Nigerian businessmen to foreign opportunities.

He argued that since the country successfully conducted the April general election, there had been renewed interests especially by the European Union (EU) who had been on missions to enhance trade and economic interests of their countries.

The minister further said that every country was now looking for rewarding partnerships; a situation, which he explained, informed British Prime Minister, Mr. David Cameron, to visit Nigeria two days ago and some other African countries with about 50 investors.

“The election has conferred legitimacy on the president and accounts for the diplomatic interest of the European Union. Cameron pledged £50 million for the eradication of polio and malaria apart from other things he pledged to the country.

“The German Chancellor Angela Merkel also visited last week and investment and economic issues dominated the discussions during their visits,” he said.

According to him, foreign visits of Jonathan would henceforth be investment-driven and less of politics, while Nigerian embassies in Europe, Asia and America have been directed to refocus on these areas in order to get the best for the country from direct foreign investments.

“Our embassies abroad especially in Europe, America and Asia are to focus more on investment policy to our domestic agenda. We now tie our foreign policy to our domestic agenda. President Jonathan’s visit to other countries will be investment-driven and less of politics,” he said.

Speaking earlier, Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, said the president charged the ministers to go back to their ministries and ensure that they direct their energies towards the realisation of the policies of the government and the campaign promises he (Jonathan) made prior to the elections.

Maku also said the president asked them (ministers) to be hardworking and innovative in thinking and in the execution of policies to achieve the best results.

According to him, though there were no memos on contracts, deliberations were on how to adopt new policy initiatives that would rekindle development and impact positively on the lives of Nigerians, adding that unless the average citizen felt the impact of government policies, they would be of no use.

He also said the ministers in the new cabinet would be assessed based on some variables already made public and based on policy executions under their ministries.

He added that the measurement and evaluation would be used to determine performances on deliverable indicators.

Maku pleaded with the newsmen to report positively on the image of the country, pointing out that even when very sensitive news items break in other countries, the journalists there manage them in a better way that no damages to the image of their countries are incurred.

He announced the creation of a new ministry - Ministry of Communication Technology – from the former Ministry of Communication and Information.

He also explained that the Ministry of Science and Technology was not affected by the restructuring; “so it still remains the same”.

On the suspended labour strike, the minister said the administration was able to reach a compromise with the labour leaders when it was agreed that government would pay the new minimum wage across board, but added that the payment would start in August, while both sides would use between now and the end of this month to arrive at concrete terms of the implementable agreements.

PoliticsRe: The Naira Stops At Jonathan! by omanzo02: 8:17pm On Jul 16, 2011
Sun of god:
As a 'Zoologist' I'm believe GEJ is the best man to deal with these 'Animals' called Boko Haram.

These people are not 'freedom fighters'
There people not just 'Terrorists'
These people are 'Moslem Terrorists'

They dont subscribe to conventional warfare.
They have no problem murdering innocent people.
And they are shielded by their moslem brethren

Therefore any conventional method of dealing with these terrorists are no longer valid.
The army are not specifically trained in unconventional warfare.
Neither are the Nigerian police or SSS.
And there will be few Nigerians GEJ can turn to who have experience of this.

If he orders the soldiers onto the streets there will be more loss of innocent lives. Our army is just as brutal and heartless as these Boko terrorists.

GEJ needs to consult with the likes of the US/Israel who are more specialised in dealing with moslem terrorists.
The US/Israel consider all moslems as terrorists - and GEJ may need to adopt the same mindset.
I estimate that with just 10 Mossad agents brought into Nigeria, Boko Haram would be wiped out in a week.

But maybe the agenda is to do nothing and let resentment for the 'North' grow.
Such resentment may lead to either all out war or a referendum on whether Nigeria should split.
Either way the end result would be the North/Boko Haramists would be forced to go their way.
If GEJ were to acheive this he would become a legend in Nigerian history.
The last option sound incredible and probable. and dude, u are in for a big fight with pro nigeria on this forum. lol
