dasparrow: I say, attend your Nigerian church in the morning and go with your husband to his church in the afternoon. I know it will be cumbersome but that is the sacrifice you will have to make for marrying someone who is from a different culture from you. Peace!Thank you and God bless ![]() My younger sister and I were taken to live in Nigeria when we were much younger which is how we came to learn yoruba at all ![]() |
WhyAWhy: Personally I think there is something fundamentally wrong with the church setting. You're in a foreign land for crying out loud?!!!That's what I told my husband. The members all go to work over here and they communicate in English; they are able to buy and sell in English, but come Sunday, they can no longer speak English ![]() |
Thanks everyone. Much appreciated ![]() |
moremi2008: ps - I know a lot of these songs! I can't even believe I am singing them right now!Why are you cross about it ![]() |
apocalypse: What a pityI was not born in Nigeria. No pity about it KMT ![]() |
TOPAI7: Can you afford not to be edified till you can understand TWI?No, I cannot 20 years is a long time, a very long time ![]() |
andromida: Has your husband complained about your going to MFM?No he hasn't I think he's happy that we discuss spiritual things at home now and sometimes when I come back from MFM, I tell him what the message of the day was there and we discuss it ![]() |
cecegorz: @OP.You are right but I couldn't have foreseen that he'd one day be a pastor. It wasn't a problem before when we were just attending the church as members ![]() |
Thank you everybody immensely for your contribution ![]() For the doubters, this is no fiction. It's real life. It didn't bother me before he became a pastor as I could choose when and when not to attend church but it's not so easy now. Even in MFM, the pastor's wife is always by her husband's side which got me pondering. I googled and registered with a site called PolyglotClub.com. My aim is to learn Twi there but my brothers & sisters, it won't be easy O. It'll take a miracle for me to learn another language now ![]() My husband is a full Ghanaian (no half Nigerian blood in him) and I must admit he is a wonderful man He can't do enough for me and the children (we have 5). My family come round, see how he is rushing around to please us and tell me I've won the lottery ![]() |
akpan aniefiok: that means that there is one church(eph 4:4)And they should speak English ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/1064698/church-dilemma-serious-replies-pls |
Omo Daddy354: Ma'am,have u tried discussing dis wit ur hubby as a family? D truth is u are a help meet 2 him nd is suppose 2b wit him in ministry (especially)... It does nt pay 4 pple in a fam 2 attend diff churches, its a kinda tough 2 adjust 2 each oda's doctrines... God blessYes I have and he said that the spirit is one. He said I don't need to understand what they are saying. I should just come and when they say Amen, I should say Amen. When they say Halleluyah, I should say Halleluyah. So I tried that 2 weeks ago. Half of the congregation stood up, half sat down. I was unsure whether to stand or sit. I wondered if the women were asked to stand but I saw a few men also standing. I wondered whether they asked people of a certain age to stand but the people standing were of various ages so I sat down ojare. After the guy changed to English, I realised that they were actually praying with half sitting down and half standing ![]() |
"Don't marry a job who has no job!.
Huh ![]() |
Omo Daddy354: What a brave step he took, just few can do dat nw 4 fear of loosing dia members and week allowance (tithes). God help usA quarter of the women wore trousers to church yesterday - don't know how this'll work in the UK tbh ![]() |
musKeeto: Personally, Im shocked that's all she got from the post.I read everything you spewed out. Did I have to comment on every point. KMT ![]() |
The only example I have is of someone whose mother was told when she was carrying him that he'll be a man of God. Of course he grew up pooh-poohing the idea and said he wanted to go to school etc. He finished Secondary school, and got admission into the Uni but was warned, in a dream, NOT to go. He was that scared that he did not enrol. He's now a powerful man of God (I won't tell you his name ) |
musKeeto: You need to expand your knowledge...This is why I love the MFM church. No pastor will pray or fast for you. You have to do it yourself. You are given the prayer points relating to your problem, and the rest is up to you ![]() |
inurmind: But how come most christians agree that the devil put stuff into their heads, temptations for example.Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? |
This is a cool rap ![]() This kind God O I never see your type O This kind God O Blessed be your holy name |
MacDaddy01: Gaddem, it is a joke.If you say so. It's not funny sha ![]() |
Reading various threads on Nairaland got me pondering. I've been reading about the imported religion, white man's lies and other thrashy things written about Christ but if it's all lies, if it has no substance in it, if the name of Jesus is not above every other name, how come when you mention the name of Jesus to a witch, they tremble And I've got one (witch) nearer home so know what I'm talking about ![]() No other name mentioned has such impact!! |
Hate is a strong word ![]() |
Sagytarius: Isnt that abomination? Not in dem days ![]() |
There is a reason 'thou shalt not lie' is not in the ten commandments.
false witness - a person who deliberately gives false testimony perjurer liar, prevaricator - a person who has lied or who lies repeatedly |
2 Kings 13:21 Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man's body into Elisha's tomb. When the body touched Elisha's bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet. So my question is, "what believe did the dead man have for the placebo to have worked?" |
Yomieluv: a lie is when you say something totally out of context or non-existing..Like the monster I told my son - it's non-existent ![]() |
Open the floodgates in abundance and cause Your rain to fall on me Baba O |
When my son was younger (he's now 3), I often lied to him that there was a monster outside that would get him if he went outside (he always wanted to play outside) so am I now condemned to hell? I didn't do it in a malicious way, just to protect him from kidnappers. |
If a man's eye will wander, it will still wander ![]() |
coolotunba: If it is not a sin, God won't say Cursed is he that commit suicide. Deut. 21: 23; Gal. 3: 13.I thought Deuteronomy was talking about someone who was hanged for committing an offence ![]() |
adegbitown: Hello people. Is it right for a good christian sister, in a Godly relationship to cook for her fiancé when she goes visiting at his place. What's your take on this? It's only food or am I missing something? ![]() |
More women wore trousers to the Wednesday service last night ![]() |
