FamilyRe: Raising Children: Abroad Or Overseas by omoge(f): 4:06pm On Jul 18, 2007
i have a friend who sent her baby home so that she could go to nursing school. first granny of her oga came but was always sicky. so she went back home as medical bills too costly for them, today this, tmr that.

shortly after baby was 9months and a friend helped them to take the baby home. she buys baby food and shipped them home, ummm. not too long she took in (to my surprise oh  grin)

the last i saw she brought the first one back. then i heard she went home with both kids with plans to leave them behind. oga sold his huge car, bought a small used car and another one that was shipped home to be used for the kids. i visit another friend (we all friends) for a wedding. my friend wasn't there hubby told me she traveled home with the kids and will leave them there. don't know whatsup so far but interesting.

a friend of my neighbor is planning to go home and leave the kids (age about 4 and 2) behind to learn mother tongue they say. they will bring them back after or in 2 years time. she was saying she is looking forward to that so that she can have time to work.

for me, i don't know ooo. when the time comes, we will see  grin but it will be really tough. i think where you are will be good place to raise your kids.

i'm sorry for your loss too, accept my sympathy romeo.

Osisi, you are right. i don't understand it. i mean how people die in Nig. which makes me to wonder if it is juju, poison or just God's will? someone will just drop dead or after short illness. it's hard to understand. but there is something going on in our motherland.

dizike my brother

Carribean bread?? that thing wey strong like stone  grin i bought it next day i threw it away too hard. If you looking for a bread closed to Nigerian bread try "King's Hawaiian Savoury Butter roll" oh it tasted sooooooooooooo nice walahi. not exactly Nigeria, but sooooo soft, and soooooo sweet you will love it, i tell you. Check out the bread section in your grocery stores and you should see King's Hawaiian Roll

lady omoge25, It's a bit higher than the ones i have seen in the African stores here. but not as big as the one used for pounding family yam  grin. My good classmate traveled and my mom gave her those to bring for me  cheesy it's been sooooooo handy. the ones in the African stores here, those one are too flat. My mom sent me two I was shocked but so happy. One like for grinding Ogbono and the other open and long enough to soak my beans and pound it to remove the skin (less labor). can be used to pound anything if i feel like it but am not a fan to pounded yam anymore. I just use it for my beans soak it and go study. come back and pound/crush for few minutes and am all set.

lady soul, that engine self e be like say the hidden stuff behind all comes up to mix with your own to increase the taste sha lol
you know the engine grinder dey ration water lol
FoodRe: What Do You Feel Like Eating Now? by omoge(f): 7:16pm On Jul 14, 2007

no talk am hahaha, sorry you roommies no fell in love with your cookings like mine. my roommate 2 chines 1 korea and 1 other oyinbo always ask me when next i will cook the peppery stew lol. they love the stew sooooooooooooo much that they finish the thing for me, that aint funny lol.

i go with them to the chinese store where i got live Tilapia and and other petty things. because i love fish they are getting to like fish too and want more from me. i try to get that nice peppery stew every other sunday for all of us cheesy

only the oyinbo wan put me for trouble last month wey bone of the fish stuck for her throat. me tell her ooo she say she sabi fish lol, by roomies were all laughing at her and one had to give her bread to eat to gulp the bone down after everything was tried to remove the stubborn small bone.

Asian like nigeria meals a lot especially our stews cheesy while my kenya friend loves our egusi soup cheesy

FoodRe: What Do You Feel Like Eating Now? by omoge(f): 5:41pm On Jul 14, 2007
right and my mom and grandma use Odo (mortar and pestle) to grind theirs instead of engine. it's so delicious that way and the not so smooth testure in your mouth will make you love it the more (for those who love the traditional way of making meals) oh my goodness yummy.

i have everything to make it (even mortar) lol and my roomies asking what you want to do with the wooden stuffs, lol

but i had to stop because no leaf to wrap it. my mom asked me on the phone what i'd like to eat when i visit, i said Opor (corn moin moin) and she was all laughing  grin grin she said it's corn season and they are enjoying it cry
