Even in this africa(Nigeria) e dey very hard to see a decent and intelligent girl, everyday I keep asking myself what's wrong with our women, I'm 33 and ready to settle yet most girls are either after money or are just too dull and care only about slaying, and I go for intelligence before any other thing but nobody in sight Now I usually advise my guys to lock down any decent and smart girl they see cus they r really rare. This continent just tire me. we go survive sha
Most good girls in Nigeria are not in the spotlight..they have busy schedules and almost fix daily routine: their activities is usually around work to house ,market to house and church to family or friends place , sometimes you can see them when invited to birthday parties;anniversaries, or weddings..they are usually not the selfies or Instagram type nor the face book addict..so dont generalize.Just the way you are complaining about the lack of good and intelligent girls; the same way we girls are complaining about the lack of good, hardworking and honest men with integrity. Seriously, most Nigerian men around are gold diggers or scammers.they are immature to even start something with.

you can not have baby mama and have peace with an American woman..they will drag ur ass to court for a larger chunk of what you are worth just for child support and she will live large on your sweat..if you think Nigerian woman are gold diggers(though you didnt say that) i believe you should try this American dragon queens.

I mean, pretend asif your finance has gone shipwrecked or sour and see if she 'll still be going all sushy with you....

Now, this has been one trick that's been working wonders on nigerian ladies and bringing out the slayness in them...

N:B....We do not just create threads to tarnish the image of ladies but we do these cos so far we 've been in existence it's all we 've been seeing and as young and prospective barchelors that we are, until ya lots come out to convince us to think otherwise and understand that God in His almightiness and wisdom while creating adam did not attach anything monetary or substancial to his hands before adam became a living being, and that's why he told adam to tend and keep the garden....

In essence to the above assertion, we were both created and born in like manner, so, ladies get up and work....

Shout out to the self reliant and independent women out there eventhough i'm still wishing to meet one.

Goes back to bed with my headphone listening to lean on me by michael boltontongue.
why don't we do it this way,..while you guys take away money from relationship especially when you are dating women that are not financially independent like student, likewise the women should take away any form of sexual encounter in the relationship in order to only keep themselves safe from pregnancies or diseasese. This will be necessary for you guys to know yourselves much better..what about that? Let us see if you can stay in the relationship for the longer time before you finally tie the knot if you so wish to marry that girl..

I don't know why Nigerian men always complain about money.money, money.. at the same time they want to date a beautiful damsel without any penny in their pocket to even get her a card for her birthday, but would be very hasty in requesting for sex from this beautiful girl..you can not eat your cake and have it..you want free sex from ladies without even a clue on how to treat a woman right?.maybe you should ask your elderly siblings on how they courted their wives..i am sure they will give you a clue on how to work hard; be a gentleman and be romantic with women; in which money no matter how little it is has a vital role to play. Women and their love for money and nice things are like 5 and 6 since time immemorial. They love nice things and there is nothing you can do about it...We will always have women that are financially Independent as well as the Gold diggers..this is a universal thing.
So guys that don't have any money in their pocket or who do not have any source of income shouldn't complain when their women want to be spoilt silly by their boyfriends after being intimate with them. My answer is this: Guys should Zip up and women will stop asking you for money. Relationship is never one sided, it is a two way thing. So oga go and get a Job and get a good woman that you wish to spend the rest of your life with and stop complaining about women just becos you are broke.

Thanks for your reply
With regards to education I will say the hausas are trying not to say that we are where we are.... but the true measure of progress is to look at where someone is in the past and where that person is today....... just a few years after independence they where only 84 secondary schools (most of which are concentrated in the NC) in the entire northern region while down south they are hundreds of schools........ this has to do with history.... when the colonials came they met a large chunk of the north having an established system of education based on islam an established system of government and an established religion as such they knew that trying to build schools in the north (most of the schools are missionary schools) will be seen by the northerners as an attack to their religion and their way of life....... And rightly so..... because prior to the colonials they are only two religions in nigeria Islam in the majority of the north and a small part of SW and traditional religion for the rest of the country today Islam and Christianity are almost evenly divided

What I am saying in a nutshell is that the north is making progress in education however slow it may be.... during independence we have only one person with a bsc in the entire northern region and today there are professors, Dr's you name it and schools are filled to capacity and even to over capacity.....

I am a living testament to this fact because I have a bsc in accounting, msc in taxation and treasury management, and a member of ICAN and all this I achieve attending school in kano and am still in my twenties....... just 20- 30 years ago this would have been impossible......

So instead of bashing and raining insult on us no matter what we do "good or bad" which will further animosity and hatred among us why don't you guys offer a friendly hand and provide constructive criticism instead of insults and bigotry and we will see where it goes from there......
The southern part of Nigerians are uncomfortable with core northerners because of their religious intolerance.you guys have penchant for killing at the slightest provocation and would rather not talk about it but dig your head in the sand as if nothing had happened.this is the reason why southern Nigerians dislike the you guys. you are are set in your ways as a result of your religious teaching and always fighting against policy that will bring development to the country. I have some northerners has friends around my working place but i will not trust them during any religious/ethnic/ uprising in Nigeria because they will throw your friendship to the wind ans slit your throat because to them you are nothing but an infidel...this is has happen in the past..you people are trust worthy and humble people but too violent and painfully rigid for our liking.

Politics › Restructuring: Southern Nigerians To Boycott 2019 Polls by omoharry(op): 1:21pm On Aug 09, 2017
The strong agitation for restructuring Nigeria gets messier with threats that if it is not allowed, people from southern region of the country may call the bluff of the 2019 general elections.

Southern part of the country comprises the south west, south east and south/south states.
But with growing momentum of the call for true federalism, strong indications are that, with sympathy from minority ethnic states in the northern region, the next general polls could be a hoax.

Top leaders from various parts of the country with the former vice president Atiku Abubakar sounding loud have cautioned that restructuring of the country was the best part to thread now as well as the veritable antidote to even and sustainable development.
They are also of the view that anything contrary may result to failure of once a united country.

Recall that in restating advocacy for restructuring the federation, former vice -president and a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had argued, that states that were not financially viable should be collapsed into those that were viable.
“There is no doubt that many of our states are not viable, and were not viable from the start once you take away the federation allocations from Abuja. We have to find creative ways to make them viable in a changed federal system.” said Atiku

According to the former vice-president, the restructuring, involves changes to the allocation of powers, responsibilities and resources among the states or zones and between them and the federal government.
“We can constitute a body of non-partisan experts to suggest other ideas. But in all, we must devolve more powers and resources from the federal government and de-emphasize federal allocations as the source of sustenance of states. We need to start producing again and collecting taxes to run our governments in a more sustainable way with greater transparency and accountability” he said.

Joined in the fray for restructuring Nigeria, is a close ally of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and second republic senator, Chief Ayo Adebanjowho spoke at a recent conference to mark the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra, warning that the country may collapse unless it is restructured.

Pa Adebanjo who maintained that if Nigeria was not restructure now will collapse, explained further that those opposed to the call were the real enemies of the country.
He stated that it was the military which broke into Nigeria politics and governance that caused the problems of the country.

“If Nigeria is not restructured now, it will collapse”
“Our problem remains the military, “The military did not allow us to settle our problems” he said, pointing that the pockets of self agitation and determination, for instance like Biafra, were not about separation but about living together on agreed terms.
Described as the rave of the moment, regional blocks and pressure-self determination groups have began to prop a national conversation on self economic, financial and quasi political independence.

This development according to sources close to the southern people’s assembly is the cardinal objective of the assembly.
Insiders close to the group told theNigerian Pilot weekend that there are strong plots to begin a nationwide enlightenment to drum support from southern Nigerian electorates to shun the forthcoming general elections in 2019.

It was learnt that the grand plan is to ask the electorates not to partake in the electoral process, so as to discredit it.
The position will be canvassed vigorously at the next meeting of the assembly scheduled to hold soon in one of the south eastern states.
A coronary to this development is corroborated by recent remarks credited to a south east leader and former governor of Anambra state, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who has also called for immediate restructuring of the country.

Dr Ezeife who called for restructuring into the six-geopolitical zones, explained that the country should go into referendum to decide if the nation will continue to remain as one or break up.
He also stated that the Southern Peoples Assembly, SPA, will soon meet to take a stand on whether the people of southern Nigeria will be part of 2019 general elections if the country was not restructured.

“The Southern Peoples Assembly, SPA, will soon meet to take a stand on whether the people of southern Nigeria will be part of 2019 general elections if the country was not restructured”, he further said.

So guys, would you boycott the 2019 vote if we are asked to for the sake of restructuring?

Waooo! waooo! this is really a food for thought.we come here every day to fight ourselves while our leaders unite to loot our treasury..sometimes I wonder if majority of us are stupid or cowards. Suffering and smiling is our motto: Fela sang about this several years ago.We follow our leaders blindly without asking discerning questions on why we are following them or their parties. We elect leaders base on sentiment without even checking if the person is sound intellectually enough for leadership or morally upright to rule us...at the end of the day everything falls back to zero and history is seen repeating itself again.
I think majority of Nigerians are stupid..becos it only a stupid man that will continue to repeat doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result ;It really a hopeless situation. I have said it before that the leaders are not the problem but the followers..we vote for them, worship and defend them as long as they throw crumps at us to keep us busy, even when we know they handpicks from their God fathers, we don't care to know..what do we expect then? they will always answer to their god fathers to repay investment, and leave the masses the same way they met them or even make their situation worse. 2019 is coming and we will still make the same mistake.we need national orientation to re-correct our way or reasoning.

Politics › Re: Forgotten Facts: The Day Nigeria And Cameroon Almost Went To War Part 1. by omoharry(f): 10:44am On Jul 18, 2017
SSBN:
...........Part 2.

Since the return of Democratic rule to Nigeria on May29,1999, the Nigerian government had been steadily cutting down its Army and Air Force, allbeit for political reasons (coup plots have traditionally been carried out by army and Air Force officers).

The number of ground combat divisions decreased from thirteen pre May 29 to seven post May 29. Over four hundred army Nigeria's army officers were retired (purged). The decimation of the Nigerian military by Nigeria's civilian leadership was brutal. Perhaps more brutal was its success in hiding this from the Nigerian people. In under a decade the Nigerian army was transformed from an attack oriented force with an impeccable track record in not just West Africa but to countries as far as Somalia, to a defense oriented army with lots of machine gun and artillery divisions but incapable of offensive action - as Nigerians found out in Mali.

But despite the drastic scale down off the Nigerian army, it still had a massive overkill in financial and manpower capacity relative to the Chadian and Cameroonian army put together. To put things into perspective the Nigerian army has an active frontline personnel of 150,000 and a reserve force of 32,000. By comparison Cameroon had an active duty force of 15,000 men and reserve personnel of 10,000 men. This makes Nigeria's reserve force alone twice the size of Cameroons frontline army. In an all out military confrontation Cameroon is hopelessly outmatched , no amount of training could compensate for its numeric disadvantage. In the end Nigeria's manpower and economic capacity will certainly triumph.

For Cameroon, a defense treaty with France is only rational. But this comes with a price, as Western powers like France will use Cameroon to fight proxy wars to secure access to its resources. If war with the Franco alliance innevitable, the Nigerian military would prefer to engage and destroy French military assets before they can target Nigerian military positions.

It is difficult to envisage a scenario in which Nigeria decides to pay the political cost associated with climbing the ladder of escalation. But If Nigeria had chosen to act it would have had three choices.

The first will be a mechanized attack on Garoua, a city in northern Cameroon along the Benue River approximately 30 miles east of the Nigerian border where much of French military and surveillance facilities are being built. France has 3,000 troops spread out across Chad, Burkina Faso and Mali.

Such an attack would largely have been modest in scope and focused on consolidating held territory. Advancing further deep into Cameroonian territory at this point will be counte productive. An attack like this would likely have been carried out by a dozen tanks and two thousand troops supported by artillery units and helicopter gunships. In the absence of French air power and since the Cameoonian army have virtually no tanks or amoured regiments of comparable size they might seek to push back Nigerian forces by air attacks carried out by its compliments of MB-326 light attack jets. This however will represent nothing more than an harassment raid designed to inflict as much casualty as it can before French military assistance come in to play, but with the seizure of these facilities and bases it will take weeks for the French to carry out any meaninflul counter strike, save carrying out bombing raids on the very facilities it has spent millions building.

A second option would have been the same surprise attacks on French military bases under construction but without any accompanying occupation force, but choosing instead to hold all French economic investments and companies in Nigeria at risk. France has more investment in Nigeria than it has in all its ex colonies combined. These companies are worth billions of dollars and Abuja will not miss a beat nationalizing and freezing the assets of French companies in the face of French military adventurism against Nigeria.

It is not clear wether or not the Chadians will seek to intervene militarily by coming to the aid of its Francophone ally even if it meant risking a full blown war with Nigeria, but Abuja could not have afforded to find out the hard way. France has a base at N'Djamena, Chads capital and a contingent of 800 French troops. They provide Chad with aerial surveillance. If Nigeria's surprise attack is to yield any form of strategic gains those facilities in Chad must be taken out as well. One major question is whether or not Nigeria would have coupled an attack on Cameroonian military facilities with a surprise attack on Chadian military bases near the border with Nigeria. But one thing is certain, a Nigerian attack against Chad would not have been limited in scope, the Chadian leadership would most certainly have been targeted as well. At this point the Nigerian military will for the first time since the Civil war have mobilised fully for war.

On the plus side a Nigerian pre-emptive attacks would have played to Abuja's strengths in both financial prowess and manpower. At the time of these events Nigeria had the second largest external reserve in Africa, second only to Algeria. The full resources of the State in the air, at sea and in space would have been geared towards the prosecution of the war. Two years earlier Nigeria's emergence as Africa's preeminent Space Power was demonstrated when during the tragic Hurricane Katrina a Nigerian remote sensing sattelite took the very first photo of New Orleans during and after the disaster and shared it with a startled NRO ( America's National Reconnaissance Office). Nigeria has 5 satellites in orbit, two of which are remote sensing. Designed to monitor crop harvests and natural disasters these space based infrastructure would have been used to monitor enemy movement, given Nigeria an unassailable advantage.

On the minus side an unprovoked attack against Cameroon and Chad would have earned Nigeria worldwide condemnation. An attack on French military facilities with the potential for French casualties would also have played into the French strategy of curtailing the gravitation of Francophone countries towards Nigeria's economic and cultural sphere of influence by building permanent military bases in Chad, Niger and Cameroon, effectively encircling the Nigerian Federation. The condition for French military assistance will be contingent on the Francophone leaders willingness to support French intetest.

The third option entails Nigeria willing and preparing to absorb the first blow. This doesn't mean that the Nigerian Army and Air force
have to wait for French bombs to rain down on them, but the Nigerian government will most certainly require some clear, public signal of the Franco alliance intent to escalate to high intensity conventional military combat before it can begin engaging Cameroonian and Chadian forces. If Nigeria's past military engagements in Chad, S-Leone, Liberia and Cameroon gives any indication, Nigeria will not allow France and Cameroon to fully mobilize in other to either to either launch a first strike or properly prepare to receive a first blow.

On the flip side a surprise pre-emptive attack by either side might be unlikely. Instead a series of small skirmishes will escalate over a few incidence, finally triggering a set of steps on the steps by the Cameroonian military that indicates to Abuja that Yaounde is genuinely prepared for full scale war. These steps will include the presence of French warships in the gulf of guinea, unusual movements of troops and heavy equipments towards the border. At this moment Nigeria's military planners will decide whether to attack preemptively or stand down and wait.

Which ever the case the Nigerian Army would have made rapid gains on the battlefield in the first few days before the arrival of French reinforcement, pitting a large mechanized forces with troops outnumbering the defenders by a factor of 3 to 1, against a better trained Chadian and Cameroonian ground forces equipped no tanks and obsolete artillery. Nigerian artillery men are some of the best in Africa. We can expect that the Nigerian Navy will deploy its warships in advance of the onset of hostility. Nigeria's surface fleet and air force will see Cameroonian ports and airports as legitimate targets for destruction before the arrival of French naval ships and will attack with air and naval assets. The Nigerian Navy will seek to disrupt Cameroonian shipping by blockading its waterways and communication systems. The Cameroonian Navy is basically non-existent, it has a personnel of just 600 men and will be no match for the most powerful Navy in black Africa with 17,000 men and over 70 capital ships. The mismatch is beyond ridiculous.

France had already proven its disdain for Nigeria by supporting the secessionist in the Nigerian civil war and its clever bit of subterfuge to cripple the worlds most powerful economic and military block in absolute terms - ECOWAS, the most democratic region in Africa by sowing seeds of dissent and distrust among member States against Niger.French machinations go into areas as far as football. The French have largely been successful in their divide and conquer strategy of subjugation. As a result, despite Nigeria's sacrifices in both man power and finance in the region most countries perceive Nigeria as a far greater threat than France. Nigeria inarguably the most hated country in Africa.

From Nigeria's perspective the goal of an economic and political integration of West and Central Africa has pitted Nigeria and France against each other in a grinding, never ending proxy war that has no clearly defined ending.

A Nigerian attack against Cameroon and Chad would have been a tactical success but a strategic failure or worse, an open ended full blown war against the most powerful military in Western Europe with the military backing of the world's most powerful military alliance behind it. Nigeria would never be able to recover from such a conflict. The country would have been destroyed and balkanized, squashing forever Africa's only hope of an all powerful black nation capable of advancing the interest of Africans on the global stage.

From the French perspective, Nigeria, a country whose population is bigger than the entire population of France and Great Britain combined and whose cultural and economic prowess assures the continual dominance of English speaking Africa on the continent represents the only obstacle between France and its criminal intent to subjugate and steal the resources of its poor colonies. A 2003 protest by Nigeria against France over receiving colonial taxes from Cameroon did not go down well with Paris. The global balance of power is gravitating away from Europe towards Asia, Africa is the only region on the planet where France has some semblance of influence. France is holding Francophone Africa by the leash and will not give it up without a fight.

......to be continued.

Impunity, lawlessness and disregard for human life are getting worse in Nigeria. Proof of this emerged on Saturday when police officers attached to the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chikwendu Kalu, shot officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission while on patrol. Two FRSC officials were riddled with police bullet wounds during the incident on the Umuikaa/Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway, Abia State. Photographic images of the injured FRSC officials in the media raise the question of police conduct and impunity on our roads. The really scary aspect of all this is that the FRSC operatives were unarmed. If uniformed FRSC officials can be shot in cold blood for doing their job, then other ordinary citizens are really in deep trouble.

At the heart of the bloody incident is the wife of Kalu, the complicity of the police and the State Security Service. According to media reports, the wife of the Speaker, who was reportedly riding in an SUV, was stopped for traffic violation by FRSC officials. Instead of obeying the law, the security officials attached to her started brutalising the FRSC personnel. Some reports alleged that the Speaker’s wife also joined in the lawless act of beating up the officials.

The issue could have stopped there but when the Speaker was informed, he reportedly stormed the scene with his own police details, who he allegedly ordered to shoot at the FRSC officials, who, by then, were already seated in their patrol vehicle. The directive nearly cost these men their lives as their bloodied bodies showed. In the first place, should police officers obey the Speaker’s unlawful order to shoot at officials of the Nigerian government, who are not in any way criminals? Ruthlessly, the police reportedly removed the battery of the FRSC patrol car so that the injured victims would not be taken to the hospital.

In what has become a common occurrence, FRSC officials often come under undue assault in the line of duty. In 2016, a road marshal, Segun Enikuemehin, who tried to plead with some military men to stop their assault on a civilian ended up with one of his eyes being plucked out from its socket. He was said to have successfully rescued the civilian and taken him to the police station. But on returning to the scene with policemen, the military men took offence and descended on him, completely damaging his eye.

In another incident in Calabar in January, Cletus Okune, a driver attached to the Cross River State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Peter Egba, was remanded in Afokang Prison in the city for allegedly assaulting two members of the FRSC. The commissioner, according to newspaper reports, was not in the vehicle when it was impounded for a number of traffic offences, including driving without fastening of seat belts. But, on arrival at the scene, Egba reportedly ordered his driver to assault them. “The commissioner later joined in the beating and also used a stone to injure a colleague in the head,” Fidelis Eteng, one of the victims, said. Egba denied ordering the assault. In 2013, there was another case in which nine operatives of the commission were arrested by a deputy commissioner of police on allegations of obstructing traffic on the Enugu-Abakaliki Road in Ebonyi State. Three operational vehicles belonging to the FRSC were also reportedly impounded, although the vehicles and the officials were later released.

But the buck stops at the desk of the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris: he should immediately order the arrest and prosecution of everyone involved in the despicable act. The policemen deserve severe punishment for misuse of their firearms and obeying an unlawful order. Already, the list of individuals who have been gruesomely murdered or beaten into submission by sadistic policemen is long and ugly. The fact that innocent people and minor offenders are routinely being killed by the police is unpardonable. It is, indeed, awful and shocking that 17 years into the 21st century, policemen will open fire on other unarmed law enforcement officers or civilians on the orders of a power-inebriated politician.

If the allegations against Kalu, the Speaker, are correct, he is unfit for public office, one of those undesirables that notable cleric, Tunde Bakare, identified as “the worst of us ruling over the best of us.” And there are many of them around. He amply reflects how our public office holders hold the people in contempt; lord it over them and have impunity as their guiding philosophy. He should be arrested and prosecuted accordingly. The SSS agent, who also allegedly featured in the brutal attack, should be similarly prosecuted. Like the policemen, she should be flushed out of the system.

FRSC Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, owes his subordinates, his conscience and Nigeria a duty of ensuring that justice is done: he should liaise with the highest authority in the land to see to the prosecution of these wild agents of destruction.

There is an urgent need for systemic policing reforms. It is argued that the Nigerian society “is over-policed and under-secured.” Really, a research finding notes that Nigeria’s problem is not a lack of officers. More often than not, the police are themselves a significant source of insecurity, since they are “often engaged in criminal activities − particularly corruption and extortion. Nigeria’s police are also feared for their excessive use of force. The police also misapply themselves. For instance, how many policemen are attached to the Speaker and his wife? What are the rules of engagement given to the over 100,000 policemen guarding individuals, their wives, family and corporate bodies? The impression has gained ground that these police maiguards are free to brutalise, intimidate and even shoot other Nigerians when so ordered by their pampered charges as Kalu’s case amply demonstrated. This nonsense must stop; the Nigerian Police was not created to protect a few and oppress the majority.

The fact that these horrific acts by the police continue relentlessly and becoming ever more brazen demands a strong response. We encourage the victims to file civil suits and seek compensation irrespective of the IG’s action. Nigerians should rise and use all lawful methods to resist and shake off oppression and impunity.

Guys I am 36 years old..working but no relationship ..presently I am not depress but lost..some times i get really low ..so low that you feel that Time has be frozen and every other person is moving except you.You watch as your friends achieve things in life..get married with children with good job and start planning their lives but you have not even started any.You sometimes wonder if the world is really fair to some people and unfair to others. But what get me up most times is that i look up to the high heavens and thank God that i am healthy and not running from hospital to hospital trying to treat a terminal ailment. When that thought comes through my mind all other negative thoughts go away.I do volunteering activities when i am free just keep me uplifted sometimes. The world works in mysterious ways.some times we do not always get what we hope for and the world becomes dark to us but when we achieving most of our expectations in life it becomes a wonderful place to live in. the twin sister of sadness and joy..hmmmmm!!
