Certitude: Happy Sunday to all...Would like to know which gosple music has the most effect on you. Well, as for me I'll say 1O,OOO REASONS. The lyrics moves me to tears. CASTING CROWN and BOOK OF LIFE sends chills down my spine. I remember playing my music on the eclipse night where people were saying christ will return that night, I woke to the lyrics(CASTING CROWN) "for the bridegroom had return and has carried his bride away tonight" I was damn scared. Ukeme Asuquo Monday, a first class graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Uyo, died at the NYSC Camp in Zamfara state after suffering from Diarrhea yesterday December 1st 2016.
According to his friend, Victor Jerry Emah, Ukeme never wanted to go for service in Zamfara and said he was destabilized the moment he received his call-up letter. Ukeme was a brilliant student who won 4 scholarships as a student.

[quote author=slurryeye post=51036345]I'm so sorry for the pastor, his family and the family of his wife about the unwarranted death of his wife. However, I will like to use this medium to talk about the Igbos attitude I have observed countless times towards their hosts on this forum. The number of insults Igbos haul at Yoruba on a daily basis despite that Yoruba land is the region most populated by Igbos outside their igboland is quite surprising. But unlike the Yorubas, Hausa/Fulani have very little tolerance for outsiders that insult them. Imagine the faith that will befall Igbos if they claim that Kano is no man's land as they like to claim in Lagos. Or what would've happened when Igbos were insulting Oba of Lagos during gubernatorial election if it were emir of Kano or sultan of sokoto. I just pray that Yorubas continue to tolerate them. But no matter how tolerant one is, you get to a point where you can't take it anymore, and I pray Igbos don't push Yoruba to that point.[/quote. ... hmmmmmm.my brother abeg leave them alone let their ignoramus continue to follow them. I pray for them to know that Yorubas are not their enemy. ipob yeye fowl wey no lay better eeg. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Trump Vs Clinton: When Did Nigerians Start Having Opinion In American Politics? by omolayomi06: 6:00am On Nov 09, 2016 |
TonyeBarcanista: On August 11, 2008, Madam Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, the Chairperson of Nigeria Stock Exchange organised a fundraising dinner to support United States Presidential hopeful and Democrat Nominee, Senator Barrack Obama. In the said event that was help in Lagos, more than $630,000 (N94.5 Million) was raised to support Obama's candidacy. This event was held WITHOUT approval of Mr Obama, and also it was against the laws of America. Organisers held the event at a point when the average Nigeria could not boast of $2 in a day. In fact, Obama eventually won, but Nigeria got no special benefit of his Presidency. He was elected as the President of United States of America, and not anywhere else.
Like 2008, Nigerians are now concerned about the forthcoming USA Presidential contest between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democrat Nominee Hilary Clinton.
In fact, I have seen various facebook pages, whatsapp groups and those of other forum run by Nigerians to solicit support for either of the candidates. It is ironical that most of these Clinton/Trump campaigners have never left the shores of Nigeria since they were born not to talk of possessing the right to vote in America. Some of them that are residents in America are either temporal residents or illegal residents. The negligible few that are citizens of America don't disturb the peace of Nigerians with the Trump/Clinton noise as they are concerned with their lives there.
It was laughable to read a piece that quoted Prof Wole Soyinka of threateing to destroy his American Green Card should Trump get elected. I laughed and ask, does Soyinka opinion or emotional feelngs now important in the scheme of things in America? Of what value is his Green Card to the American economy or even an average American? "na who even know Soyinka for America? Which American has his Green card helped for him to assume that Americans will be swayed by his emotional preference?
Though I am not for spiting Wole Soyinka or any Nigerian, but I think it is embarrassing for Nigerians to leave important pressing issues at home front just to appear important by joining the American campaign when their sermon are targeted at Nigerians with no single voting value in America. Beside, the emergence of either candidate will not help Nigeria out of recession. Americans are for America's interest, Nigerians should concern about Nigeria's interest.
A friend once told me that USA election affects the world, my reply to him was, same with the election of Nigeria, but should USA make wrong decision, they will bear the consequences and go down for another to rise. Same is applicable to every countries.
Finally my compatriots, let the truth be told, our opinion as Nigerians and non America citizens DOES NOT count in the American election. Let us at least learn to mind our business. I will end with two portions of the Bible:
"Interfering in someone else’s argument is as foolish as yanking a dog’s ears."- Proverbs 26:17
"Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before."- 1 Thessalonians 4:11
May God Bless Us All And Bless Nigeria
Shaered on Palmchat Social Network ignorance of the highest order. if you don't know try to know today america rile the world, so if they choose a wrong leader that mean the world is in chaos already try to lead before you write you so call write up... I think I support wole Soyinka because he as been to America and knows what it going to bevthe faith of the the world if that stupid trump win the election... |

todaynewsreview: The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Aruna Kadiri has visited Turkey to facilitate the release of some Nigerian students over the recent reported unfortunate arrest of some students upon arrival at Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul, Turkey.
Some weeks ago according to our local media, over 50 Nigerian students were arrested in Turkey, allegedly on the order of the government. The detained Nigerians are mainly students of Fathi University, one of the 2,099 schools shut down by the Turkish government for links with Fethullah Gulen, the alleged mastermind of the failed July 15, 2016 coup in the country.
NANS, the apex umbrella of Nigerian students both home and abroad following the incident condemned in totality the action of the Turkish government, and shut-down their Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria as they failed to release its detained members unconditionally.
Comr. Kadiri who arrived Turkey on Thursday October 20th alongside other 2 contigents and a Nigerian journalist said the trip was a continuous struggle he led to Turkey Embassy in Abuja on the 6th of October, immediately after the inauguration of NANS national officials demanding clarification on the arrest of the affected Nigerian students.
Upon getting to Istanbul on the early hours of Thursday, they were taken round some of the schools were they met with managements of some of the universities and our Nigerian students respectively.
Also, while in the country, they held series of meetings and were told by both management and our Nigerian students that after the failed coup in Turkey the Government decided to shut down fifteen (15) Universities suspected to be owned by the opposition group who masterminded the failed coup.
The closure affected several nationalities including Nigerians schooling in Turkey. However, the Government has absolved all the students into various schools of their choice without any additional charges. All of these was confirmed by our students.
Funny enough the story of the over 50 Nigerian students arrested is like a home video to most of them. They insisted that nothing of such ever happened. In fact, the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria confirmed that only four (4) post-graduate students (PhD) were arrested for questioning after which the Turkish government have decided to depot them. But upon NANS President intervention, who made it clear to both Ambassador Hakan Çakıl, and the host government that it will be a slap to his country if they were deported, insisting that they should be released and allowed to resume their normal schooling. This they did immediately and as we speak, the affected students are back to school.
Apart from all these, two students who were living in the apartment of the suspected coup plotters are still in detention but we are talking seriously with the Turkish government for their release and we can assure you that within a couple of days they will be released.
Comr. Victory Ogolo, former NANS VP on External Affairs and presently Chairman advisory Council, was also in the NANS President' entourage. After the national assignment, they returned back to the country on Saturday 22nd of October.
The NANS President, Comr. Aruna Kadiri of Uniben, being the 28th president of the association was elected in the rescheduled convention held between 1st-4th September 2016 in Old Parade Ground, Garki Abuja.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
God bless the National Association of Nigerian Students
