Your eligibility for admission into masters is mainly a function of your first degree result and partly your work experience. PGD does not qualify for you for masters. Its not even evaluated. PGD is just to make you employable in the Canadian labour market browndegreat: Good evening all, I have a first degree in elect/elect with 2.2 I intend doing a PGD in project management at conestoga college to make up for my 2.2. I want to do my masters in elect/elect after the PGD. Please will I be accepted to do the masters after the PGD |

I am in need of naira. I can't send money to Nigeria due to CBN placing a hold on money transfer to Nigeria. Any one trying to apply for admission into Conestoga college can contact me. While I pay for the application fee in CAD the person will help me pay the naira eqivalent into my Nigeria account. |

I need keen evaluation from gurus in this house.... I am plan starting my PR process at the end or beigining next year when I am done with my PGD program here in Canada. I have tried a couple of time to check my CRS ranking I do get less than 400 points. I don't know if I am doing the right thing or what should I do to improve my points. Here is my profile
Marital status: Single
Level of education: Masters in Elect Engr from Nigeria(waiting evaluation though)
Work Experience: 4yrs as an Elect Engr(have reference letter from my employer already)
Age: 30 but will be 31, 32 when I apply
English proficiency: yet to write(but I used 6.5 and 7 in my ranking) |

Thanks bro ideamaster: Some quick answers for you.
1. Yes, you can get a post graduate work visa, if and only if you do a minimum of 2 years study. Note that some offers for some Masters program is usually for 18 months or 1.5 years which doesn't qualify for a post graduate work visa. The number of years you get on the post graduate visa could be 1.5 or 2 years. I am not sure how they decide that.
2. A full time international student is legally allowed to work 20 hours per week or 40 hours per fortnight.
3. I am not sure what you mean by this question but I do know that some people are not given Masters admission directly. they have to do a pgd in the first year and complete the Masters in the second year. if this is what you mean, then the fees for a pgd would be cheaper since its just for one year.
4. no one can really recommend a city for you. In my opinion, there are jobs available in all the major cities. you could just apply to various schools, get the admission offers and see which one would be best for you. And just like someone suggested, reading the thread would help as you can pick out schools people already mentioned.
The gurus can please correct me if I am wrong in any aspect. thanks |

Hello everyone.....I will like my kid bro to go study in Australia instead of Canada cos Australia visa processing seems to be more straight forward and easy compared to Canada's.
Here are few questions I need clarifications on;
1. Does Australia give post graduate work permit after studies? If yes, how many years?
2. How many hours can one work as a full time student?
3. Postgraduate Diploma and Masters which is cheaper?
4. Which school, city or province can one recommend for a civil engineering student based on how easy to get a student job and lower living expenses.
NB: he made second class lower (less than 3.0) in his undergraduate in Nigeria |

Its in Mechanical department. Electrical graduates can still do it. It is a multidisciplinary course. I am currently in the program. If you want to apply, you go for the Post graduate certificate; it's two years. Danfuster: Thanks for the response but isn't that related to mechanical engineering |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by Omonjoe(m): 10:44pm On Mar 22, 2016 |
Will Robotics and Industrial Automation be ok to you? If yes, try Conestoga College. Danfuster: Hi, I graduated with B.Eng in electrical electronics engineering, I want to apply for a PGD in that field. I'm looking at instrumentation and control or something relevant under power. My sponsor is my uncle in US.
Pls which school would you recommend? I am open to your honest suggestion and directive. Thank you

Yes.....Studying a Post gtaduate diploma course OpeLovely: So was it a post graduate diploma you studied instead or a master's degree in Canada? I have over 8 years work experience so i can always say that i have been working all these while.....with employment letters attached and references to boost my chances of having a PGD. I would have gone for either another Masters or Phd but they are too expensive and i have to be realistic with my financial expectations even though i have a sponsor.
Marketing communications is the area i want to study though. Because i see it as one of the "in-demand" jobs under the Canada NOC..... |

If u can explain your acaedemic gap (what you have bn doing after ur first degree) in terms of job or otherwise to the vo in your SOP and in filling your form, please hide ur masters degree during ur visa application. That was what I did. OpeLovely: Thanks for answering. Diploma it is then....at least college fees are cheaper than universities. |

Congratulations bro....thought you were already in Canada ChicoBoy: Hello guys. God that uses egg to break coconut has ran it for me. Approval balled in today.
First Application: Submitted/Biometrics : Sept 15th 2015 (Online) Medical : October 19th Medical Passed : October 25th Denial : November 17th Conestoga College.
2nd Application Submission/Biometrics: November 24th (Paper) No medical request. I submitted my previous medical print out in the new application Hadn't heard from them after 2 months plus, sent CIC an email, they responded and requested my new LO which I sent immediately. Approval dropped this morning. to God be the Glory.
Purpose for denial were the generic reasons. purpose of visit, fam ties, length of stay, assets and financial status. In my previous application I had dealt with all of these reasons, still I was denied. I felt it was because I applied for a PGD.. so the only thing I changed in my new application was my School. luckily, I had an offer from Carleton .. that's what I changed. |

Reporting right from Ontario . Landed few hiurs ago.Boarded Ethiopian airline and the flight was very ok. I didn't encounter any difficulty at the POE. My study permit was issued without question about fees paymet(my greatest fear cos I have not paid), and late resumption. I was only asked to show my Acceptance Letter. I was also given my SIN right away at the POE. For food stuffs; they didn't check at d POE only at MMA Lagos the officials demanded settlement and I told them I had nothing with me (showed them empty wallet) and I was allowed to check in with the food luggage. I pray for God's favour for all TRV hopeful. You will all get your heart desires IJN Thanks to Anuguson, Iyaejima, thesoj all the gurus in the house |

IMO, I think ur name same with his is a gud proof. If he has birth ccertiffcate, add it buh if nt, u can add national ID card or Driver's license Godymn: Dear All,
If my sponsor is my father, and does not have an international passport, what other identity is okay for me to use as prove of identity?. Will his driver's license be enough?....The reason why I ask is because, I see most people using data page of their sponsor as an identity.
Kindly advise.
