thanks. I will check his SOA today to knw wat to do ayooluwatoni: From experience, don't try to impress the V.O by quoting high figures, just calculate a realistic minimum amount required for ur tuition, books and supplies, accommodation and feeding, with miscellaneous expenses too. If possible you can design a budget for each year, and breakdown the huge money your sponsor will be giving you yearly and include such budget in your application. So your sponsor would make reference to that budget in his sponsorship letter. Eg "to further evidence my sponsorship claims for MR Kumo, I'm attaching my personal up to date statement of account and an annual budget for a period of 4 years....." night don do abeg, my head don dey shutdown! But I hope u undy my point. I made a similar mistake last year when going to the UK, I wanted to impress the V.O, so I quoted a huge sum, unfortunately my statement didn't cover the said amount, so I was refused visa. I reapplied, but cut down the cost to the barest minimum, such that my sponsor's statement could conveniently cover it, and I was granted the visa. |

Nigeria is among d designated countries, so, "Akin u re right"!! lakusi: Hello house pls I need clarifications on this question from the online questionnaire.
"Have you visited or lived in any one of the designated countries for 6 consecutive months in the last year? Yes or No?"
I actually chose YES but I wana be sure I'm right.
Btw I would also like to know the point at which I would decide if I wana do upfront medicals or not.
Thank you all. |

My sponsor said he is stating on the sponsorship letter that he would be making a minimum of 4.5million naira available to me yearly for my education and living expenses. My yearly tuition is 13740CAD. Pls is that amount good enuf for my education nd living expenses? or should I look for a cosponsor? NB: I don't know the total balance in my sponsor's account as he does not also knw the exact amount until we get the SOA tomoro. but he has enuf cash sha |

Best of luck. |

Thanks. Definitely I am doing that. I am just trying to spread my network because of time frame. My supposed sponsor's health challenge scattered my plans and is making me look desperate. I so much blyf help can come from anywhere. profojah: Omonjoe.. I actually agree with ezekuse. You can't just expect people to give their bank statement, payslips, property document to somebody they don't know!.but I'm not saying its not a good idea for asking on the forum cos we never can tell where the help might come from.. On what deedee0 said, ask some relative, friends, colleagues of yours and maybe people you know physically; they can proffer solutions. & Keep everything in prayer. I wish you all the best! |

Thanks. Bn desperate is far from the issue. I post dis for some reasons and I also ve bck up plans. ezekuse: I think you should spend more time researching for scholarships to actualize your dreams of studying abroad since you do not have your finances all sorted and there are also tuition free countries like Germany, finland etc instead of this post because you are starting to sound desperate. Really have you sat down to think clearly about what you are asking, a total stranger should provide you with personal or company bank statements, payslips, property documents and all relevant sponsor documents. I hope you find a sponsor but you seriously need to wake up from this fantasy of going to Canada with a total stranger from Nairaland as your sponsor. |

We will read your testimony soon @Omonjoe Thank you! saw your post about the sponsor issue, I think you should talk to relatives, friends and people you know personally, not on a faceless forum @Gu2015 Thnks, all is well

Gud am E family, I am in a need of assistance from any one that can help here.
I got acceptance into a college for a two year PGD and my tuition is $13740Cad. All my documents for TRV are ready except SPONSOR"s documents. The man that promised to help as a sponsor got partial paralysis about two weeks ago and currently in the hospital. I have tried looking for other sponsors but no positive response from any.
Please I need help from anyone here that can provide me with a GENUINE SOA (as a sponsor) and other sponsor's documents to enable me apply for my TRV.
I have half of my tuition already and my salary will keep running because I am on study leave with pay. So, paying for my tuition myself is not a problem.
Please help me actualize my dreams and I will forever be indebted and grateful.[/quote] |

Thanks for ur understanding! I believe the relationship and reason of sponsorship can be handled with a well written and a convincing Letter of sponsorship. Alot of people that got TRV I can say from what I have seen used sponsors that are not their relatives. ElCapt: I understand how you feel.
But even if someone should provide you with such, how do you establish the relationship you have with the sponsor and why he or she is sponsoring you?
Its much more than just getting the documents. |

K, Thanks. I will send them a mail on monday. deedee0: Request for a letter (soft copy) that explains the co-op component of ur program, from the school. I uploaded the letter and acceptance letter in that section 'Proof of work requirement' |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Omonjoe(m): 7:04am On Jul 04, 2015 |
Yea, on their website the third term is for Co-op placement. It is clearly stated on d website that d course has Co-op placement. AriseOCompatrot: Seems like "Cooperative Education" there is referring to the name of the programme and not to the availability of Co-op placement. Were you informed by the school or did you see it on their website that this course has a Co-op/Internship placement as part of the programme? |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by Omonjoe(m): 10:10pm On Jul 03, 2015 |
It was not detailed on the acceptance letter just "Cooperative Education" written in bracket. I am resuming January 2016 berexio1: Yes, and attach ur acceptance letter if it is detailed on it.
When are u meant to resume sch? I would advise u take the paper route |

My program is a Co-Op Education, In answering the eligibility question "IS WORK AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF YOUR STUDIES?", should I answer Yes or No? If I answer Yes, how do I go about the Upload "LETTER FROM MY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION STATING WORK IS A NECESSARY REQUIREMENT FOR THE COMPLETION OF STUDIES"? Should I request the letter from my school or upload my Acceptance letter(cos Co-Op Education is stated in my letter) |

Madam gud pm. U re so full of knowledge....I admire that. Pls I still await ur response on my SOP as u promised. Do ve a stressfree day Team12: So there is always an exception to every rule Mr @HayqinsBfX. I have my reasons for posting that statement. There are just some things that are not necessary. Of course you know that every case is different and some VO's don't even care about what you say in your SOP. But you never know whose hands your application will fall. Your friend's TRV is one out of many and I don't think it was the fact that he mentioned strike that convinced the VO as to why he needs to go abroad. There are more matured reasons you can give, always write positively!
I remember seeing it in your SOP and I think I deleted it (except you re-added it), because you had a better reason already stated for studying abroad and the strike thing was not really necessary. More so, you are not going for an Undergraduate program.
At Graduate level, your reasons for furthering your studies in a particular field should go beyond strikes in Nigeira....
In my Opinion Sha. No one has to agree. I just thought to mention it. |
