Hello, please i have a challenge with my laptop.
Adverts just keep popping up while i'm browsing.
The mouse pad also doesn't run smoothly.
Your system has accumulated lots of garbage. Just go to the control panel and program features. uninstall all third party programs you don't use.

As for the touchpad. Fake adapters have a way of making them slow.

no offense op the topic doesn't really make much sense. You saw a post and you had a conversation with a person and then you think it is right to automatically assume that men in general sympathize with rapists and pedophile. Very smart indeed undecided

@bold seriously where did you get that kinda info from, no right minded human being in their normal senses would do such. So because someone thinks death is too extreme means that he/she condoles rape? how sensible is that abeg?

i don't know why people forget that men also get raped. From your analogy a guy who has been raped or molested is sympathetic to his molester....do you know how wrong that soundshuh

Btw what your business with how a person thinks a rapist should be punished? isn't it their own personal opinion? Must everyone agree to yours? i really don't get the point you were trying to make......
You haven't met nairaland teenagers and the old ones who havent grown beyond their formative years.

Damiso and Kimoni,

I think the ladies lamenting on that thread should have themselves to blame than calling Nigerian men sexist. Prior to marrying such men, they saw all the traits yet they went ahead to marry and are crying foul afterwards.

Their sense of judgement need more questioning than the pathetic rant. If all the males they ever met are sexists, it says more of themselves than the men. Like always begets like.

To pathetically crown the stupidity, two said their daughters will be raised far away from "Nigerian men", yet they are both married to Nigerian men. Is that not idiotic.

Rate at which some ladies bash Nigerian men at every opportunity will make you repent calling Satan the devil. It is as if sexism is the sole prerogative of Nigerian men and there are no sexists in the West.

They are actually the losers in this game.
.
I am just amused when I see all these feminist, gender threads and so on and people fighting back and forth over trivial things. In reality, except for some very few "misenlightened ladies in Lagos". I don't see this Nigerian men bashing on the streets. Most can only whine online, they return back to the four corners of their rooms and keep mum. Online is the only leeway they have for their frustration.

You want a good guy. How have you made yourself a good person? Tattoos, daily parties, life on the high lane, lack of self respect, leagues of boyfriends and so on? When you now get played, you come here ranting.

I don't pity them, just pity all these young gals following their ideals here and thinking it is the holy grail.

There is a reason they label wrestling flicks

"Don't try this at this home" .

Meet all these ladies who make the loudest noise here out there and you would spit and want to puke.

Sorry...You have to take that system to an engineer. You likely have a damaged board and may need some little work to be done on it.

Want to be sure it is software. If you have tried other operating systems like windows 7 . Then you have a VGA problem.

My dell inspiron laptop is having start up issues. I have windows 8.1 installed and it cannot boot properly. Its stuck on the automatic repair loop and each time it says that the errors cannot be fixed. It keeps on doing this and the windows is not loading. I don't have any installation disk so pls what can be done to resolve this?

Cc onegig
Is the windows 8 preinstalled from the factory or you upgraded it yourself?

If it is Previn stalled, I guess there should be a restore file on it. Follow these steps below. If it however doesn't have you would have to get the cd.

Use Startup Repair on a computer that has a preinstalled recovery option on your computer
Important This method is available only if Startup Repair is a preinstalled recovery option on your computer.
If you do not have a Windows installation disc, and Startup Repair is a preinstalled recovery option on your computer, follow these steps to repair startup files:
1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer by using the computer's power button.
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You have to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you have to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system that you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.
2. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter. (If Repair your computer isn't listed as an option, then your computer doesn't include preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has turned them off.)
3. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.
4. Select a user name, type the password, and then click OK.
5. On the System Recovery Options menu, click
Startup Repair. Startup Repair might prompt you to make choices as it tries to fix the problem and, if it is necessary, it might restart your computer as it makes repairs

Good morning gurus. I have this problem with my acer v5-471p..i accidentally deleted the hard drive plus the windows while trying to delete something else. I recovered my files but not the operating window which was then 8..i got a window 8.1 in ikeja. Installed it buh the screen is always double, blurry and moving.
I have downloaded the graphic card which is intel 3000 on both acer site and intel site but none of it worked..went online but no solution yet buh i resorted to using windows display driver which cant play games or even make adobe photoshop work well...
I posted pics showing the screen..
I will so much appreciate it if you can help me out with this ish...tnx and God bless you all
Get another CD and start afresh from Windows 8 then upgrade to 8.1.

Also, maybe you aren't installing the drivers right. I understand there are still some graphics bugs with win 8 but you may be downloading the wrong drivers.

But wait. How did you delete the hard drive and windows while still on the windows. How is that possible? Shooting at a gun with the same gun?

FamilyRe: Can't We Just Get Married Without Involving Families? by onegig(m): 11:33am On Aug 06, 2015
Ishilove:
You are incredibly naive, young man.

When push come to shove, at the end of the day, that same family you refused to involve will be your refuge if all goes south.

Are you even African? huh Cant believe I'm having to explain this undecided
Are you even listening to his ridiculous comments." Dad I am married and bringing my bride home to come see you" You don't even need to bring her home. You can as well marry a ghost and not communicate with your parents anymore.

@op or Umuchoke. You are suffering from serious inferiority complex.
There is nothing that doesn't have it disadvantages as long as humans are the harbingers of it. There would always be a case of misuse or extremity but that does not invalidate the rich benefits that can be derived from such.

Yes, the kind of family setting we practice in Africa can be a bit strenuous and sometimes disadvantageous but the overall benefits of what we practise cannot be overemphasized.

As for your marriage question. You are from somewhere. You belong to somebody and she does to. No matter how much you want to preach individuality you still owe them some sort of allegiance and involving them is the least you can do.

The African marriage is premised on freedom, start of a new life and handing over the baton of responsibility to the newly weds. You can't gain freedom without the "master" giving it out to you. Parents are mostly held responsible for the actions of their kids in Africa and most parents would want their last act over you to be successful, thus more reason why the family is always deeply involved in marriages.

As for your other discuss about Europe and other individualistic cultures. You dont even need to go too far to see why we have so many mentally deranged people, high levels of depression and extreme loneliness in cultures that practise this "individualistic ideals" . Most end up committing suicide and live a life of absolute lonelinesses and dejection. Siblings, parents and kids not keeping in touch for decades is what you term progressive? SMH

The family is a fabric that holds all humans in place. The higher the cohesiveness, the saner and more peaceful the lives of the individuals are. You are still young and very naive. You would understand this better when you grow older and need to lean on "family" to get you through your challenges or share in your joy. That's when you would know what is up.

However, you can choose to so whatever you like. It is a free and individualistic world like you people would like to tell us. cheesy

Ah! I've been praying in my mind that it won't be the board but from you just said, it seems my prayers are.... This will be really devastating for me because I don't think I'm buoyant enough to go for a new motherboard now.
Yeah, it's an AMD Processor(HP Probook 4525s). Please how can you help me. Thanks.
AMD? I won't advise you buy a fairly used version. You would LIKELY end up few months after with a bad system.

Best bet is to go scrap it or buy a brand new board.Or maybe you take it to technician around you(get in contact with adetwin here)who would help work on it(temporarily) Not long lasting as the problems would return in few months again.

Remove the Battery and the drive. Then tap under the laptop and blow some air just to remove the dust that may have gotten jammed. Insert the drive, connect the charger and switched On without the battery. This should work then insert the Battery. Your fan is jammed by means of dust. If it doesn't work then go to HP website and update the BIOS.

Hope this works for you.

Why would you stop a critical update abruptly?

I hope you haven't damaged that board. Remove the battery, disconnect the Adapter. Hold the power button for 45 seconds.

insert just the power cord alone. Start the system. Repeat this like 5 times if it doesn't work the first time.
