odohemma: As for the OS, can a 'Reinstall Disk compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit' be used to recover the old Windows 7 OS or do I have to get a new Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS?

just install any operating system you want. Then when done just come back here and list the missing drivers. I will give you a link to download from.

forget it. The recovery is gone. Let him just find you the windows 8 drivers because even if you revert back to win 7 you would still need the drivers.

check the hdd using an external connector.. It might be bad.. Or else you need to key in the hdd well it might have been dislocated from its slot

How do we expect a mother who is not literate on the use of computers to set filters that will block her child from watching indecency? Education is very important... In practice I would have use recuva software to recover the files before trying
any complicated diagnostics. Are you opening the file as an administrator And is it on a server ?
Is the file on an external hard rive and how did you save the file, i.e. from usb stick to your
hard drive by copy and paste or drag and drop or file backup wizard. xp or vista

Its a common virus here that turns your files and folders to shortcuts. What he just needs to do is to show hidden folders and display operating system files in folder options. Then delete the shortcuts and copy the contents of the individual folders to a new one.

i don't think i will like it. Not work? Not too good. Am not even talking about finance here. There is this aura that comes when you earn money yourself and wouldn't like her to loose such.
