Brother Jakumo, long time no hia!! |
Kola, Long time no hear. How are you? I hear say na for Sports section you be king now. Pele. As per Alams. . . . . yourself, Jakumo and others know very well, since 2005 (https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=3707.msg129378#msg129378), that I never believed all those ''he dressed like a woman'' to escape from London story. Much as I do not like ''concluding on issues'' based on one side of the story, this is one case I will make an exception. I can say that I have been vindicated with this man's story. King Kong OBJ is a well known snake. Even if he comes out with a counter on Alams interview, I will not believe him. From this interview, it's obvious that we're in a big big serious trouble in this country. This is a case of the more you look the less you see. May God help us all. |
Interesting discourse. I think we need to also understand the needs of the two key players here: The Employers and job seekers. What do employers really NEED? Do we need workers who can do the job at hand, not placing any emphasis on the future of the employee in the business? Do stuff like ''future directors''really mean a lot to them in this day and age where anything can happen - I have seen someone with a BA degree in Business Administration heading a highly technical E&P company at the highest echelon? Yes, Peter Voser, Shell's CEO is not an Engineer! What benefit will employers get flushing out experienced hands and then recruiting some multiple degree holders for their business - have they considered the amount of money they will spend bringing a fresh hand up to speed on the job and then groom such for the ''future director'' role? What if the employer decides to quit working for the company after being trained and making little or no contribution to the business? Does that not equal to spending investors money on useless things? Then to the job seekers: Have you really thought through what you want out of this life? Will going for multiple degrees really add any 'benefit' whatsoever, to your market value? Are you sure you won't be better off working on your own, rather than working for others? Some guys up there have talked about Seminars bordering on careers. I guess we need more of that for our teeming graduate population. We now need to properly carve out what specific qualification(s) the job the employer wants to fill requires. But then again, that's the meat of this discussion. It would appear that employers have myriads of reasons for filling a position in their companies. From frivolous things like having a Ph.D holder doing menial jobs - just to shore up the image of the company, making the company look like they have the 'best' brains working for them, to the real reason why a job seeker is taken on board to do the work - I mean getting down and doing the WORK. Maybe employers should just trim their need down to: ''People who can do the job''. This will save them a lot of energy and unnecessary expenses on HR matters! I am for people who know what they want out of life - employers and job seekers alike! |
So, why on earth are they after Ibori? Damn all of em. . . . . . |
His prediction has come to pass - though with a 2-year error margin. |
May 2/2010. Ibori is YET to be caught! We're waiting. |
This is a very good development. I fully support the creation of the true 'Delta State'' from the present Delta State. The true Delta State will exclude the Delta Igbo speaking people from its boundaries - they've always wanted their own Anioma State anyway. |
One week after. We're still counting. 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 6, 7. . . . . . counting game has begun. Make una catch am o. . . . without fail! |
Who on mother earth is Dagrin?!!! |
Watching and waiting - until he's been caught. All these ones na just tori. |
texazzpete:Very well said. |
April 15. 2 days after. Nothing has happened. Watching and waiting - for Ibori to be caught! |
I need Jakumo to respond. |
rasputinn:Erm. . . . . Okay. Let him pay for his sins. He will have his day in court - he's been to/out of court severally. Nothing new. Let us see what's going to be new this time around. I recalled a lot of guys said UMY will nail him when he comes to power. In the end, when nothing of that sort happened, rumour mills went around saying he ''single handedly'' sponsored Yaradua to the Presidency. Now, UMY is ill. GEJ is in charge and we're hearing all manner of stuff. People tend to forget events quickly in Naija. A lot happened over this Ibori guy in the days of OBJ. Accusations and all manner of shitty things were levelled against Ibori while OBJ was on ground as President. He survived all. This is not to say he's in any way clean, but I am sure many Deltans appreciate the little the guy did while he was governor. Others may not and will have their reasons. So, let him have his day in court again. And I'm sure he will come out clean - just as he did in the past. |
Baba Inspired! Long time no hear!! I see you're still waxing strong. Well done. I still dey gbadun my cool hybrid ride. . . .no shaking. Will call you soon for something for my wife. Can you help me check how much a 2009 Toyota Hilander Hybrid will cost me? Mileage MUST not be more than 15,000 miles. E ku ise. |
Interesting discourse. |
sayso:My brother. . . . .I really don't know how to reply all these people. That Ibori stole is no news. What is new is that his own ''stealing style'' is way out of the imagination of many - many people who know how to steal. To them, he stole so much, he's broken the record for stealing and should be made to pay. Your observation about Warri and Delta State during the time of Ibori as governor caught my attention. Without mincing words, the man performed wonders in Delta State when he was governor. I have stated here on this forum some two years back that Ibori practically brought peace to Warri when he was governor. Warri was heading for total destruction. He came and saved the day. Airport road, Warri, that I thought can never be dualised was dualised by this guy. Warri, Ughelli, Asaba, Sapele, Ogara, Amukpe, Agbor, Ubulukwu, Igbuzo, etc all felt the presence of a governor when Ibori was at the helm of affairs. At some time, because of the gigantic bridge constructed by him at Bomadi to link the Ijaw hinterland with their kins at the waterside, even as far as some villages in Bayelsa, Ibori was awarded the title of Deputy Governor General of the Ijaw Nation! It was Ibori who made it possible that the two strategic but neglected Federal road dualisation projects: Benin - Warri and Benin - Asaba was completed during his tenure. I gathered he contributed funds(from Delta State purse) to finance these projects, at a time when OBJ was busy using state money to build hiltop mansion at Ibara, Abeokuta. Today, the only properly constructed road linking two Niger Delta states remains the Benin-Warri dual carriage way. Go figure. I make Benin in just 35 minutes from Warri. I remember hitting 150km/h speed on that road - with ease and no fear of accidents! You know, some folks come here to tell us how much Ibori got as governor of the state - for eight golden years. They said he should have transformed Delta to another Houston, Dallas etc with what he had at the time. Well, I tell them, I'm satisfied with what I have in Delta now. Now to Goodluck J: All I have to tell him is that he should not come home to the Niger Delta if he's not able to dualise the East-West Road from Warri to James Town in Akwaibom State at the end of his tenure. He should stay with Peter Odili in Abuja. No excuse for non performance will be entertained. People, print media and all can say whatever they like. Ibori is my man anyday. |
Are u guys for real?? This is happening in Naija already? The end is upon us. Demons have taken over!! |
lol |
Marriage, infidelity, adultery, divorce, losing trust/confidence in your spouse, death. . . . . . It's a sad world after all . . . ![]() |
Iranoladun:I grew up in the West - your area, and in general, you're right. That's the way the real Yoruba woman will do it. But I'm from the South South region - wifey too. I really haven't given this ''greetings thing'' a thought until now. Time to give some steer in that direction at home - for I like it the Yoruba way (having considered the two scenarios - greet/don't greet or make anything of it). But that's me sha. |

Complete the dualisation of the East West Road. |
Bros Ibime, What I want is for Jonathan to dualise the East-West Road from Warri to James Town - with this opportunity we now have. If he fails to finish construction work on that road in say 10 months, I'm afraid we may never see anyone who will bring up the issues of East West Road dualisation again. |
All I want is for Jonathan to speed up the process of dualising the East-West Road. If he can, within the short time frame he has, he can also power up the delta areas. But the most important thing he can and should do for now, for which the Niger Delta people will print his name in gold is to dualise the East-West Road - from Warri to Oron's James Town |
aisha2:Ok. You were really on ground to witness this? How nice. |
