I am sure if he was to sponsor Christians for pilgrimage (which in any case he will do when it is time for Christian's own) u wouldn't see anything wrong. I as a person, I have always spoken against government (state or federal) sponsoring people to go for pilgrimage, whether Christians or Muslims, anyone that feels he or she wants to go for pilgrimage should sponsor themselves. Back to the matter u raised, since Nigeria is a mess, where government sponsor people for pilgrimage, then by Nigerian standard, it is not a crime for uzodinma to sponsor 100 Muslims for pilgrimage cos he will also do the same when it is time for Christian's pilgrimage; don't forget there are Muslim imolites; I am sure ur thinking is that he wants to sponsor northerners ( which obviously muslim northerners residing in the state would benefit too). I understand how u feel, but this is one of the reasons we say religion is part of our problem, for instance, government shouldn't have any business building mosques and churches.

Have you ever wondered why these irritating Islamic nomads are never this eager to put their necks into places like Ghana, Ivory Coast, or even Benin Republic etc.,? There is this stupid entitlement mentality that has grown increasingly crass and vulgar over time especially as the same Cow President made himself the petroleum minister. In other words, Nigeria seems like a land of milk and honey to these desert vagabonds and their affinity with the Hausa has made them feel more at home in the Nigerian context so far. This affinity has been overextended in dangerous ways to mean just because the Hausas have surrendered their heritage and leadership....other Nigerian ethnic groups will follow. This is strong delusion indeed!

An objective Southerner in charge of the Census, with the use of historical antecedents and modern mapping and data driven technology should be able to define "who owns this land or area and how many people are currently resided there." Trusting any Northerner to go about that simple objective is a foolish dead-end quest!

The billion dollar question now is how far will Tinubu be his own person to make a stand on some key issues that benefit indigenous Nigerians--or in the worst case just be another "disposable Jonathan" from a core Northern perspective? Have the Yorubas forgotten how much they have cried out for the return of True Federalism or a Regional Government system when Oladipo Diya was humiliated up and down? Well...I hope the current Northern Muslim flattery to Tinubu about winning an election does not get too far into his head to make him forget that your true power base will never be in Abuja but where the core of your followers come from.

Abuja is a make-belief illusion about a political elevation that has no basis on reality. Tinubu should advocate what he used to preach before when he was persecuted by the same Buhari's brothers in the 90s...this country needs to return to true Regionalism (and this means a lot more than the three or four regions we used to have). Let states who share a history created their own region based on their choice. This might as well be a prelude if total dissolution of the Nigerian entity is necessary down the line. If each region has strict Passport or border controls--this is one way to check this nomadic menace.

When I served in Abuja over two decades ago, I was baffled by how many people who typically looked like Hausa or Fulani and spoke fluent Hausa admitted that they were really from Niger Republic! With the Cow President that has been there, I cannot even imagine what the situation is like now. All they need to do now is walk over the Katsina border and claim to be citizens of anywhere and be given proper papers.

Why should the Federal Government only be in charge of census? Let each state also mandate the legitimate census of its own citizens at any time. Any person who is not from there natively should be willing to be identified as such and given foreign ID cards with their tax number or leave that state! There should be a firm law in that direction!
