SmartPolician:What elections are over? Perhaps, except for the 2015 presidential campaign, Wole Soyinka has never been known for siding presidential candidates. The last presidential election was no election. It was rather a selection. Therefore, it's not yet over. For example: FIFA do have rules for a football match. It empowers every referee to use his/her initiatives to arbitrate for every match. But if midway into the match, a referee shifted the goalpost to enable his/her favoured team to win the match, FIFA judges MUST cancel the result of the football match. INEC Chairman publicly vowed before Nigerians before the last presidential election that the election results MUST be transmitted directly from the BVAS to INEC iREV portal in real time, to enable voters also see the progress of collation of votes and how the eventual winner would emerge. But either by commission or omission, the INEC'S iREV portal was dysfunctional when vote results were to be transmitted after voting ended. Voters never followed the vote collation processes by INEC, or how the winner emerged. That was a breach of trust by INEC. If the purported winner is allowed to carry the crown and gets sworn in as presidentofNigeria, that is obviously going to hinder voters from participating in election in future. It's like ending democracy in Nigeria. |

NCC needed not pay any attention to the allegations. Since 1999, Muslim and Christian presidents have interchanged the apex political leadership of Nigeria. Tinubu's APC started what looks like an Islamic religious war against Christians in Nigeria. Tinubu, a Muslim, is not supposed to succeed President Buhari. A Christian is supposed to succeed President Buhari. Worse, Tinubu took another Muslim for VP, thus, leaving a spectre of another 16 years of Muslim leadership of Nigeria. Stop preaching dishonesty because of Tinubu and Mahmood Yakubu. FIFA rule mandates a referee to use his initiative to arbitrate in a football match, but referee cannot change the goalpost in the middle of a football match to enable his favourite team to win.
