Politics › Re: PDP Presidential Primaries: When Will The South Learn? by onuman: 4:41pm On Jun 02, 2022
babadee1:
Unity is the key and we don't have it. Without unity you can restructure the government even to the level of family compounds and nothing will still work.
Ok, merge more southern states together to result in lesser number of reprentative constituencies in the south; but let north have its 19 states political structure with its present number of representative constituencies; thereafter, see how the unity you crave for south can make a southern presidential candidate win a northern presidential candidate.

Some southerners need to be taken under a tree in Sokoto or Kano to let Almijirins teach them lessons on how the political structure of Nigeria determines who wins Nigeria's presidential election.

Nothing much to learn other than insist on political restructuring of Nigeria away from the present lopsided political structure created by northern military dictators to favour northern politicians.

Political overrepresentation of Arewa through the too many states and political constituencies created in Arewa by its military dictators in the old Northern region, is reason why southern politicians are helpless before Arewa politicians.

A Nigerian presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states before proclaimed winner. Even a cow from the Arewa can easily win 25% of votes in the 19 states proliferated in the northern region, then scout for 25% of votes in 5 southern states to emerge winner.
But no southern presidential candidate can easily win 25% of votes in 24 states, if Arewa is supporting a northern presidential candidate.

The media is just cashing out on all fronts.
Having to read this opinion of one ethnocentric writer who is jittery that the presidential seat may elude his SW in 2023, amounts to time waisted.
OBJ became PDP presidential candidate in 1999 through consensus. Since then, zoning had influenced who became president.
Obviously, it's not yet the turn of the SW to produce a president in 2023.
But the activities of Tinubu and his SW APC which refused zoning threw the 2023 presidential race to all Nigeria's groups.

All are figments of imagination of writer, Olaleye.

You were there when Tinubu upturned the long established process of zoning the presidency between the north and the south, as Tinubu SW APC zoomed into the contest to succeed President Buhari, even though Tinubu SW APC knew that it is the turn of the SE to produce a successor to President Buhari.

After the show up of Tinubu SW APC that upturned zoning, the north had no choice but to also zoom into the presidential race.

Any sane human should understand the meaning of “democracy “. A [b]99 year old person has the right to contest for an election and the right to be voted for. Southwest is the most developed and most peaceful part of Nigeria. Do you knowhuh I am sure you don’t…. That Lagos wey of una dey move to, ya’ll will soon need green card to stay in that Lagos… let’s move a city boy to asorock, you are saying rubbish
A country where a 99 year old is seeking to be elected president must be a Banana Republic where the opportunities of the younger generations, including you, were muscled up by the older generations.

That Lagos you talked about was the capital city of Nigeria which was built from the resources of all Nigeria. So long as Nigeria exists, Lagos remains home to all Nigerians. When you get the Oduduwa Republic you are struggling for, you can set new laws on who can, and who cannot, come to live in Lagos. People who live in Lagos contribute taxes to build the city.

Even buhari himself went through primaries, what we see here is a president that’s afraid of losing party control to a man that’s way more intelligent than him. If e sure for buhari, he should test his popularity at the primary and see why he lost 4 consecutive times until he met city boy. I don’t really care if Tinubu gets the ticket, I am just interested in ACN faction producing the presidential candidate because APC is a marriage between CPC and ACN. Buhari is a product of CPC, it’s time for ACN and I wouldn’t mind TINUBU or Osibanjo. South east has been with PDP since 1999, APC doesn’t owe them shit, let them solve their own problem with Labor party.
Any normal person would exclude old, sickly and poorly educated BAT from presiding over Nigeria in the 21st century.

Contesting for ticket is not the main issue.

Main issue is that no southern presidential candidate can win Nigeria's presidential election if northern region supports a northern presidential candidate. Look at the lopsided political structure of Nigeria created by Arewa soldiers to favour Arewa politicians.

Obasanjo won due to consensus that SW should produce a successor to Abdulsalami Abubakar from the north, after the Abiola imbroglio.

Jonathan won in 2011 through incumbency powers.
A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states before proclaimed winner.
No southern presidential candidate can win 24% of votes in 24 states and win the most popular votes to be declared winner of Nigeria's presidential election.

Since these SW Muslims insist on rotation of the presidency between the north and the south, yet asks for the presidency to go to a SW Muslim, that means these SW Muslims don't take the SE as belonging to one Nigeria.

Wahala don't burst for Nigeria.

Tinubu asked north to adhere to zoning to enable south produce a successor to President Buhari.
But Tinubu refused zoning in the southern regions because it's the turn of the SE to produce a successor to President Buhari. What a warped logic that made northerners rush into the 2023 presidential race.

Fact is: Nigeria's skewed and lopsided political structure created by northern soldiers established that nobody from the south can win Nigeria's presidential election if a northern presidential candidate is supported by northern politicians. When MKO Abiola was alleged to have won in 1992, Abacha had not proliferated too many states in the old Northern region. A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states as well as win the most popular number of votes before proclaimed winner of Nigeria's presidential election. No presidential candidate from the south can win 25% of votes in 24 of Nigeria's 36 states legalized by Abdulsalami Abubakar.

Obasanjo won in 1999 by a consus derived from zoning.

GEJ used incumbent power to win in 2011, but in 2015, north insisted it's its turn to produce a president, and north got it.

It's no point this revision of outdated events in order to keep the political status qui in Nigeria.
Politics › Re: 2023: Atiku Considers Ihedioha As Running Mate by onuman:
It will not stop PDP from remaining an opposition part after May 29 2023.

Atiku knows that he is exploiting the skewed and lopsided political structure of Nigeria created by Arewa soldiers to favour Arewa. The political structure gives Arewa politicians a huge electoral advantage over southern politicians.
A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 24 states, aside winning the most popular votes, before the candidate can be proclaimed winner of Nigeria's presidential election.

Land mass is never used as criterion to proliferate too many new political units like states and local government councils in an area with larger land mass, in a country formed by diverse regions. Arewa soldiers wrongly used land mass and population figures to proliferate too many states and local government councils in the old Northern region. Fraud.

Atiku never condemned the political and religious leaders of the northern sharia states when they urinated on Nigeria's Constitution through adoption of unconstitutional Islamic sharia criminal justice system between 1999-2001 when Atiku was VP.

Atiku was shortlisted by Fulani cabal to succeed President Buhari the period he chairmaned the wedding ceremony of Buhari's daughter last year.

Brief Letter to Asiwaju Tinubu and other Yoruba Presidential aspirants

Dear Asiwaju Ahmed and other Yoruba Presidential aspirants

Dear sirs,

I write on behalf of APAPO OODUA KOYA KOGI STATE CHAPTER

Sirs, You are all seeking the Presidency of Nigeria with the hope that the Fulani leadership will hand over power to you

It's is a pity. A deep sense of history would have taught you that would never happen.

Have you forgotten that Afonja formed alliance with Fulani, Alimi and Afonja was killed and his body burnt in the market place?

Have you forgotten that the demise of Yoruba Nation began when Chief Obafemi Awolowo joined the centre as leader of opposition in 1959?

Have you forgotten that SLA Akintola forged alliance with Fulani North and he ended up being killed on the street?

Are you so short sighted not to remember the case of MKO Abiola who built so many Mosques in the North, bought vehicles for several Emirs and built farms across the North, but they annulled the election he won. He was detained. He was once the person they used to counter Awolowo. They used him to set up NURTW to rival Road Transport Workers pioneered by Awo and others Abiola we picked like chicken and detained No single Emir or Fulani spoke for his release. He died with his billions of dollars and his chain of industries collapsed.

Have you forgotten about Gen Oladipo Diya who supported Abacha. They roped him in a coup and sentenced him to death. Today, he is half dead

Dr Olu Onagoruwa supported Abacha. His first son was killed mysteriously by the same people he supported same for Felix Ibru who supported them He was shot by the same people he so much loved and defended

Have you forgotten that the only way they allowed Gen Olusegun Obasanjo was because of fear of agitation for break up by Pan Yoruba groups and because they know Obasanjo would never listen to Yoruba people and would do Fulani bidding

Are you so short sighted not to realise that the Fulani hate Yoruba with passion and that they only used all of you in 2015 and now its time dump you? You are not aware that they want to conquer and subdue Yorubaland since 1804.

Does it mean you didn't read and understand your own history?

You made a fatal mistake. If you were endowed with wisdom and a sense of history, you would have retained Regional Party and then negotiate with a written MOU giving you the opportunity to withdraw from the alliance any time. Look at the level of incompetence being demonstrated by Fulani? Look at corruption? Look at impunity and ethnic chauvinism under Fulani hegemony? Look at state sponsored, brazen terrorism, kidnapping and violent robbery?

Now, your alliance has sealed your lips against horrendous killings, kidnapping and raping of Yoruba women including houses wives, killing of Yoruba Kings and forceful occupation of Yoruba territories by Fulani armed men

You have sold out. You left your home naked and vulnerable. Your land, the Yorubaland is surrounded by armed enemies ready to conquer and famish the land.

You will go down in history as the worst set of tactless, careless, reckless leaders that have ever emerged in Yoruba history. You surround yourself with shallow minded advisers

Go and write it down. Atiku Abubakar will win the PDP primary.

None of you will win the APC primary. Atiku who was the Father of the Day in Buhari's son wedding is the new choice of the Fulani

With your education, you are naive. We want to assure you that Yoruba Nation will emerge, with or without your support.

History will record you s the most visionless set of people that has ever come out of Yorubaland

You will seek new alliances, it will fall on your face like red pepper.

Without you, Oodua Republic shall come. That day, many of you will cover you faces in big and terrible shame.
From Mrs Ajoke Alabi, State Coordinator, APAPO OODUA KOYA, (KOGI STATE CHAPTER)

*By Prince Adewale Adeoye.*

But for yours truly,
Tinubu shall be a million times better than Atiku as successor to President Buhari.

With Atiku, Fulanization and Islamization of all Nigeria shall take a deeper dimension.
