People be careful with this post.

I called the number and it was a stranger telling me 2.2M and did not even know about the ML.

@Jumpmster
My closest to your model is my Lexus. But you might want to try out my options since I have had that loss of power experience with it once and was told the gear was not shifting.

They checked and replaced the fuel pump for about 3k and reset the brain box and the car rolls. Very fast ever since.

I understand the scan thing BUT it sounds complicated to me and looks like a spend-hole to me.

Cheers
AutosRe: Help !my Camry 2000 by Onwan: 5:21pm On Feb 14, 2010
@ or.gy ?
Its why we are here; to help ourselves.

I'm sure those steps will help make a difference.
AutosRe: Help !my Camry 2000 by Onwan: 7:45pm On Feb 13, 2010
@ Jumpmaster

1. Let them bring out your Camry's fuel pump; test it for pressure - If the pressure is low; let them wash/clean it and test again. If its still low pressure then let them get you a tokumbo one at Ladipo - either they test it for pressure there and bring to you or you take the car there and have them test it before you pay.

2. IF your fuel pump pressure is normal - Please have them reset your vehicle's brainbox.

Cheers
AutosRe: Help !my Camry 2000 by Onwan: 9:27pm On Feb 12, 2010
1. Whats the mileage on the trip meter?
2. Do you have any smoke issues when it drags on movement?
3. Does it show any check oil (engine alert)?
4. Did the speedometer needle just start this or did you buy the vehicle like that?
5. If it started after you used it for a while, did it start at about the same time the movement thing started?

This will help in knowing what the issue is.
AutosRe: Pasat 2008/09 Needed Urgently by Onwan: 9:17pm On Feb 10, 2010
Kunle-A I have a question for you;

Do you have a car with standard options of reverse camera navigation and telephone in-built? ( - not some dummy bluetooth phone connection) - 06/07 preferred.

Mercedes, BMW or Audi strictly. I'll appreciate if you let me know.
AutosRe: 2007 Land Rover Lr3 (reg.)4 Sale Xtreemly Clean-----4.2m by Onwan: 8:31pm On Feb 10, 2010
I'm sure when the real owner wakes up he will accept 3M. The ride is okay though; I saw it in Ikeja BUT 4M or more is NOT realistic.
Car TalkRe: My Toyota Camry Tiny Lights Brings Out Much Black Smoke by Onwan: 1:39pm On Feb 10, 2010
If you change the current one, make sure you keep the old one; It usually only needs to be repaired or reset. I used a lexus once and it had that problem - the rewire had the brainbox reset and I paid him 1,500.
Car TalkRe: My Toyota Camry Tiny Lights Brings Out Much Black Smoke by Onwan: 1:22pm On Feb 10, 2010
I think you should be involved in this; go with your car and your current mechanic/rewire to Ladipo market. When you get there, after lobbying a parking space there, ask your man to remove the brainbox - now go into the market to the toyota camry brainbox and sensors side.

They will give you about 3 of your exact types; you will then go with one of their sales persons back to your car and try those. One of them will work and you are done. Don't care about what that idiot is saying about Sienna brainbox. Its not your model so its not optimized for your model.

Cheers
Car TalkRe: My Toyota Camry Tiny Lights Brings Out Much Black Smoke by Onwan: 12:56pm On Feb 10, 2010
Well thats the case.

If you check the thread; you will notice that my advise was to have the brainbox checked/reset or fixed.

Most of us offer advise from experience; you might want to understand that as well.

If you want to change the brainbox out-rightly, its your call/cash. My experience is that it can be fixed and reset.

I do not know about diagnostics and all that computer thing; I know a good rewire can take care of that task.
Car TalkRe: My Toyota Camry Tiny Lights Brings Out Much Black Smoke by Onwan: 11:46am On Feb 10, 2010
I think the problem is that a lot of people do not know what the brainbox actually does.

Its actually the brain and a lot of the vehicle's basic operations are tied and wired to it; and it always tries to find a balance - which explains why the combustion, plugs firing, nuzzles, everything and anything can be affected by the brainbox.

At times a simple reset can do the trick, at times (which is very rare) a complete change is required.
AutosRe: Bmw 520i, 525,528i: 2000-2003 by Onwan: 11:06pm On Feb 09, 2010
Its a comfortable machine. Its reliable and very practical.

The thing about it is that; the comfort and joy you get from driving a 530 makes you happy to want to take very good care of it; like getting customized headlamps (which Im sure you have been seeing on some BMWs). People do all that simply because they love the feel of driving it.

From my personal experience;

Compared with Mercedes; the BM parts are less than half the Benz parts - for instance I spent less than 5k changing the complete wheel hub of my 5 series (including the calipers) AND spent over 13k just changing the hub only on my e-class (just the hub)

Compared to Toyota; your Camry will visit the mechanic like 10 times before the BMW goes once.

All-in-all, the BM is a luxury and practical vehicle AND it has the driver's comfort in its design; most other cars are built for the passengers.

Its the ultimate machine.

Have a rewire reset/check your brainbox. Its very key

@ 1Achiever and Everyone
I drive a 2002 530; its a dream to drive AND one of the best cars I have ever driven - the only thing next to it in my mind is an S-Class.

If you want one right now; there is at Ikeja - Toks, automatic, etc, asking price is 1.6M - Please call Kunle (DBudget Limited) - 0703.5855.078

I bought the one I currently drive from him.

The asking price is 1.6M; call Kunle and confirm - I think its still available. You only need the right people to get the right cars at the right price. My BMW came with a nokia phone (GSM) - all options.

Inspired, do you have an 07 S-Class?, how much would that go for?

I like the CLS - just a bit too flashy for me.
AutosRe: Toyota Recall: How Affected Are We? by Onwan: 9:44pm On Feb 05, 2010
@Bruv
True.
I like Honda, BUT something about it puts it on the fragile side. I wouldn't drive one anyway.

I'm watching the news and I'm seeing customers drive into dealerships with their Toyota vehicles and the customers come out without any adjustments done to their vehicles, all OK. Its funny.
AutosRe: Toyota Recall: How Affected Are We? by Onwan: 12:45am On Feb 05, 2010
I know about the car industry bre.

Like I said, its my view. Toyota never filed for bankruptcy, so we are talking economics here. Countries are desperate and would in most cases try to sabotage others especially in industries they lead in.

Toyota leads.
AutosRe: Toyota Recall: How Affected Are We? by Onwan: 9:16pm On Feb 04, 2010
@Bruv
I Dont know about the caffeine, BUT its just how I see the whole Toyota thing; and I'm pretty sure about about it.

I'm not knocking Ford or GMC, BUT being practical separates Toyota from flashes
AutosRe: Toyota Recall: How Affected Are We? by Onwan: 6:36pm On Feb 04, 2010
I personally see this as political; like a dying USA is trying to sabotage Toyota so as to get failures like FORD and bogus failures like GMC back on the road.

For me I still await a real user in Nigeria to say He or She has that problem.

Toyota is still and will always be Number 1.
AutosRe: Has Anyone Done Business With Perry Solutions? by Onwan(op): 11:24am On Feb 03, 2010
Thanks for that post.

Its just strange the way the guy on that number behaves by avoiding calls. Also the new order I placed (that should have made the third) I didnt get any response like a quote or something.

For whatever its worth, I just thought people should know about it. Its never the money part of it; Just the part of letting people know If they are for real OR not.

Thanks

Its a big pity. Something tells me its all a bid to put Ford back on the road. I hope they come out of it unscratched
AutosRe: Straight From U.S. - 2010 Toyota 4runner Limited ***PRICE REDUCED*** by Onwan: 9:57am On Feb 03, 2010
@Emperoh

You are very correct; I think most automobiles makers are giving most their models the same shape especially overall look - only size differs; just like the e-class, c-class (you hardly know the difference).

Regarding the Toyota design; I think this new body looks better on the Landcruiser, Prado and sequia. The 4Runner looks ugly and in-complete to me, then the highlander looks like a clone or a cheap Chinese imitation.

The new landcruiser and prado are simply amazing.

There are these people called Perry Solutions on nairaland.com; they claim they buy and ship things in for people from the US. Thus us their website;

www.perrysolution.com

This is the contact number on the site - 080.3561.7436

I have placed two orders with them and paid into their Oceanic Bank Account. Their timing is supposed to be two weeks BUT my first order is way past two weeks AND its one story after the other.

This guy will not pick his call until you send a text that you will expose them on nairaland.com

His latest is that they have orders stock at NAHCO since last thursday AND they have been telling them to come the day after since then - this sounds very strange from someone who runs a business like this.

First of all, they wont call you to tell you of any delays, secondly they will tell you they are at the airport, thirdly NAHCO?, then come today, come tomorrow?

I'm thinking these guys are not saying something OR they are a fraud. Nairalanders beware of Perry Solutions - Something is not straight here.

I'll appreciate any one with an experience with them sharing it right here.
