Literature › Re: Role Play: Reloaded by onyinye2(f): 1:18am On Jul 15, 2008
hmmm, fear

A man that says he has no fear, is no real man. Everyone has a fear, but it is up to us to control how we express it. My fear is no ordinary fear. Not fear of heights, clowns, or a fear of the dark. Mine is a fear of love. Growing up, i have been hurt by everyone who ever said "I love you." so this four letter word means nothing to me. There is no such thing as love. That is just it. I bet you are wondering how could someone say there is no such thing as love. To answer that, we have to go back four months ago.

He was a man of smooth charismatic nature. He knew the right words to say and the right moves to make. There was speculation that he wasn't no ordinary man. But a descendant of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Personally I thought he was reincarnation of Eros, the God of Love. All the ladies knew what kind of man he was. But something about him was so irresistable so desirable, they couldn't withstand temptation. His body was more than eye candy. More on the grounds of fatal attraction. He was like a tiger. His muscles indulged his body like strips. And was untameable and ruthless. With the eyes of a serpent, he seduced his victims with lust and passion. As if he put them under a spell composed of erotica, deceit, and ecstasy. His name was Casanova Lothario. Evil propelled through his veins and manipulated his heart. But honey sweet was his tongue. I too was taken prisoner to his sorcery of vampirized love. In one glance of his captivating hypnotic hazel eyes, I was no longer human, but a slave of love. My name you might ask? Well the name is Evelyn Freyja. But my friends call me Eve.

It was my 21st birthday. The day i was legally allowed to drink and finally able to go to "The Candy Shop". The hottest club in the south. Rumor had it, once you entered, you don't leave the same person. Hey im ready for some change. So my so called friends "surprised" me with a birthday party. I was in on it the whole time, but i didn't want to hurt their fickle feelings. The cake was tasteless, and the party, bland. So we decided to make a trip to this "Candy Shop", hey i never had a lollipop before, so i might as well get my first lick tonight. We headed over, and mayne was it packed then a muthalova. Tricks, and man whores waited in seemed like an endless line. I didn't care, so i just by passed all of them and went straight in. I will regret this move for the rest of my life.

At an instant i was bombarded with the eyes of the hungry Hot men waiting for their next prey. They traveled in packs like cheetahs. What lames. I took one look to my left and was captivated by a God. He was beautiful. I felt like those teenagers with Chris Brown. I wanted him. He came by my way and asked me to dance. I eagerly went. DJ Craze played R. Kelly's "Slow Wind." what a coincidence. He put his arms around my waist as i, we began to grind on each other. Not even one of Newton's atoms could come between the lust we were making. Even when Lloyd's "Girls all around the world" came on, we were still grinding. I wanted him then and now. When it was time to leave, i wanted him to ask me to come home with him, he didn't ask. He just told me to call him later so we could become friends. What!?! He got me all hot and bothered and wasn't about to add a little' bump to our grind? I was disappointed but yet touched. Usually a guy would ask for sex after the way i was just asking. maybe he was different?

So i called him. When we talked on the phone, it was like eating icecream. you just wanted more of it. He was so romantic and passionate. He was my soul mate. We went out on dates after dates. He took me shopping downtown and told me i could have whatever i wanted. He took me dancing on the rooftop of the Galleria, that was so romantic. I came home on night to see a rose petal bath waiting for me after a long stressful day at work. He was my everything. And eventually it happened. We didn't have sex we made love. It was my first time but it felt so natural. Like i was meant to feel this way with him. He caressed me with his hands as he went deeper into me. Once i hit that point of ecstasy, oh gawd did it feel so good. I screamed with such endearment, that The Dream will have to change his song from "Falsetto" to "Lothario oh oh oh" what a night to remember. He sexed me that way for three wonderful months. He told me he loved every time i was in his arms. I was finally living the fantasy life. Not even Oprah could stand up to my level of pride. But to every fantasy comes reality.

Soon things in him started to change. Coming home late was just the start. He told me he was just putting more work in so he can give me everything i wanted. Then he started to come home smelling like Victoria Secret's "Cotton Candy Dream" It wasn't from me because i hated the stupid scent. I just convinced myself "He loves Me. He wouldnt do anything bad to ME". Then one day i woke up, to find my house stripped of everything. My fridge, paintings, chairs, tables, jewlery, my purses, my wallet, everything gone. WHAT THE HELL!!! who could have, what could have, where was I? I called Casanova to tell him what happened, to only find his phone disconnected. I then called the police, filled a report and my heart was on flames. I stopped over to his apartment to find the landlord, showing his space to the new residence. He used me. but he told me i completed him. he said he loved me. i gave him my virginity. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED??

I never heard from his trifling ass again. I tried to move on from him but he still got a hold on me. LOVE, what stupid ass word. There is no such thing as love. Only dumb ass heart break and fake ass memories. It can go shoved itself in a volcanoe because it aint squat to me. I will live but as for Love, i got a pistol waiting for it as soon as it tries to come by my way.

Girl, am not talking of naija clubs. Don't get a stereotype that everything supposedly bad emanates from your Naija.

The first time, a dude approached me to buy a drink for me, I was like dude back off. But it is the trend in clubs to see guys buying drinks for a fellow guy.

But seriously, why is everything a guy does to his fellow guy termed gay? Buying drinks for a fellow guy is not a gay tendency.
1. what clubs do you be kicking it at?

2. seeing a dude buy another a drink just doesn't seem right.

3. Not everything a guy does for his fellow man is deemed as gay. but a random guy just comes up to you and offers a drink, that is truly questionable.

There are guys who do it, without any intention whatsoever. I cannot remember the number of times guys have bought drinks for me at several clubs without even knowing them from ZILCH, we drink, chat about the girls in the club and we all move on.

It is no biggie. wink wink
maybe this okay for yal naija clubs, in the states, if a guy offers to buy u a drink he is either on the DL or gay. the only time i see a straight man buy another straight man a drink was when he accidently spilt his drink.

oh whateva. when a guy is willing to buy you drink especially red wine, you should have known he was interested. seriously being 17 doesn't justify anything. i mean come on, what straight male you know is willing to buy a drink for a man he doesnt even know??

Forget the NBA, they only have big mouth. That was what they did last olympics and Russia, Sweden etc beat them mercilessly. Why do we in America still buy the media hype that we are the best in everything? I bet you, Kobe and co are not coming home with the gold. I bet ya!!!
Sorry but Naija winning gold in Basketball is so not going to happen. First of all, they can not even slightly compare to the line up of the U.S. or even some eastern European countries. They have a better chance of discovering a diamond mine then winning even bronze.

You shoulda said yes,so she'll ask you to guess her house number cheesy
that is one question that i would never want to know the answer. i mean i have gay friends but i dont ever get into their personal lives. i just rather see them as just them not some person who finds the same sex attractive.

of course it is every young girl's dream to be married to "prince charming"and be whisked off to a life of love and passion. But marriage is a big step in life. it is not something worth rushing into. in some sense yes, especially in the states, a woman isn't seen accomplished if she never marries. But me i would loved to be one day married to the man of my dreams but if life doesn't deal me that card, then i just have to learn to live with it. it would be hard but i'll live.

see? even sly has been attacked by the resident homo of nairaland. sad

I was approached by some gay dude in naija too,

went to the club with my friends (my first time) and was chilling at the bar, this dude walks up to me, starts a convo and asks me what I want to drink.
My greedy self said "red wine please", he bought me the wine and we started talking. Then he started asking me funny questions and touching my arm as he spoke. Next thing he said he wanted to go to the washroom, that I should go outside the club and wait for him by his white Jeep, so we could know each other better. shocked cry cry

I gulped down the red wine, summoned courage to ask a chick to dance and went right into the middle of the dancing crowd. Didn't go near the bar again all night. sad
DEBOSKY!!!! cheesy grin cheesy grin TRULY HILARIOUS!!!! of course you would accept the drink. but i must admit i know a guy dude but he never approaches a guy like that. or does he??
Romance › Re: What Qualities Make A 'Real Man'? by onyinye2(f): 12:11am On Jul 14, 2008
In my opinion, a real man is a man who is confident yet humble. he is wiling to be corrected when wrong. And also a real man never hits a woman no matter how much emotional she is. And well i can go on, but i think this quote pretty much sums it up:

" A man sees a nice pair of shoes and works hard to buy it themselves.
A boy sees a nice pair of shoes and goes steal it off the guy
A man goes and builds a house.
A boy goes and destroys a house."

Y'all need to get off your high horse and see things the way it should be seen. In some parts of the world, kids as young as 12 have to work to take care of their family. Whether it is right or wrong, is not the case. When poverty sets in, they are left with no choice.

Onyinye, have you been to the midwest states before? Kids as young as 10, help their folks with farm work. Yes, farm work. They wake up before 5am to help milk cows and stuff. I don't see anyone shouting child abuse there. For crying out loud, she is even forcing him to go to school. Do you know what poverty does to someone's mind? I bet you all wouldn't know. You were all born with enough money to hire six maids at a time. So, please spare the woman. She is here to find solution to stopping a young man from turning into a full blown thief and all you can do, is accuse her of child abuse.

Poster, I think your mom is right. I don't subscribe to beating. If you truly want to help this child, spend more time with him and help him see why stealing is wrong and bad. His parents don't want him sent packing, because he might be their source of income for feeding and stuff.
first of all i live in a place where seeing kids on farms is common. but these kids help THEIR family not someone else's. they are helping to support their own families by working with them. you dont see their parents shipping them off to the farm next door to become a house maid or what have you. you dont see these kids cleaning up after someone else's mess.

sister, you and her grew up in different parts of the world. it's not uncommon for aje butter kids (no pun intended) to have house help, young or old. Is it child abuse, probably. Don't flame her too much for not realizing the raucous misconduct.
yeah i understand that i grew up in a different part of the world with different customs. that is why this whole topic is so foreign to me. i mean in the states, i dare you, i double dare you to hold any child as "maid" "aunty". i mean after the gov't is done with you, your cell mate will become your "aunty". so i guess i just can't understand seeing my any kid cleaning after or taking care of someone. i see the emotional distress from my teens because they are basically taking care of their siblings. so i don't know but i just wish people would let these kids be kids.
