Esss:
There was this day while out for a stroll with my friends in Ghana, I saw this man beating the shit out of this lady.
He was flogging her with his belt while stomping her into the ground with his boots.

Out of pity and curiousity we stopped and asked the man what she had done to deserve such brutality.

He simply replied; She stole my 150,000 cedis (80 cedis = 1 naira).

We later found out that she was his wife.
geez!!! he beat a woman just for that little amount of money?? i mean she shouldn't have done it but come on now. that is just ridiculous.

Gamine:
LOL.

So we were between the ages of 1 and 10.

We worked around the house of course,

but when there was an opportunity to help someone else

my mum definately had to take it.

and the Help was in Sec Sch.
as i said before, i have teenagers who are younger than you were at the time and still held it down with out any help. it seems that you guys took advantage of the situation. i guess i feel this way because in the states, this is ILLEGAL.
Family › Re: How To Deal With A Maid That Steals by onyinye2(f): 1:23am On Jul 13, 2008
Gamine:
Four young girls with a working mum, no dad

ofcos we needed help!

i wonder where you got that info sef undecided
well im going to go out on a lim and say this. well i understand that you are in nigeria with out a father, but in the states, my teenagers also have no father and a working mother, but they still keep the house in order. and what were you and your siblings doing, while you house maid was cleaning??

CH3COO:
Lol. grin Onyinye you're getting a bad rep o o . You hit him while he was trying to comfort you. Sigh cry! Men can do no right.
as i said before, you don't know the whole story. i was caught up in the moment and i just let my emotions take control.
Family › Re: How To Deal With A Maid That Steals by onyinye2(f): 1:16am On Jul 13, 2008
CH3COO:
Onyinye don't forget that you grew up in Nigeria where things like child labor are not considered awkward.
i actually i grew up in the states and yes, child labor is very awkward and down right strange.

Tell it. . .
I won't jump the gun and say you've got issues with anger management.
i didnt hit him because i was angry with him. in fact he was trying to comfort me but i just wanted to be left alone. but if it is all the same with you, i rather leave that chapter of my life closed and locked.
Romance › Re: Have You Ever Hit Your Significant Other? by onyinye2(f): 1:06am On Jul 13, 2008

And you're with someone else now. Here's to hoping you don't hit him too. . .
you dont know the whole story. yes im still with the guy, but seriously you really dont know the whole story.
Family › Re: How To Deal With A Maid That Steals by onyinye2(f): 1:05am On Jul 13, 2008
@ gamine

you are not seeing the point here. a child should be doing what 12 years old do. not at your house sweeping up the mess you made. what is the dignity in that?? how could you sit and watch a 12 year old bending over to sweep the rice that you let slip of your plate?? please enlighten me.
Family › Re: How To Deal With A Maid That Steals by onyinye2(f): 12:59am On Jul 13, 2008
Esss:
A 12 year old is a kid. There is nothing to be rational about here.

At the age of 12, I could barely clean up after myslef let alone clean up after others.
i have to agree with Esss on this one. a child that is a maid is just a sugar coated word for slave.

Even those we think are innocent hide behind a mask. cry
it was a low point in my life i have to admit. i got caught up in the moment and was very emotional. but i didnt hurt him. . . atleast i hope.

I read the word 'CONSTANTLY'

If I eat A constanly, B is an exception

There's no need to talk with two sides of your mouth in one night
those fellas who throw me those constant lines are all of the same type, young party-crazied college guys.

You got games girl. grin

So what was your response?
I usually dont fall for pick up lines. i usually just smile and refuse their offer. but he seemed like he really wanted to know about Texas so i reluctantly said yes. he did treat me to lunch though, so i guess that was a plus. But what can i say, I love playing tour guide.

do you ever get "hey baby, do you want to be my cow so I can milk you real good? and show you a nice time?" embarassed

Don't mind those agbayas angry they're just jealous they don't get that kind of pick up line.
Oh gold finch you always find a way to make me laugh. cheesy wink but no, no guy ever even mention a cow, farm, square dance, may be horse back riding but that is only for those super proper guys. oka let me give one i received recently. i come from a state of southern gentlemen not all though. there are still those other brothas around. " Hey ma, you know you looking real nice today. My name is Daniel* and im new to the city. I was wondering if you could help me by showing me around? why don't i take you out to lunch so you can tell me more about the Lone Star State." well i guess that was pick up line. not sure really.

Why onyinye2? why are you always in a sour mood?
not sour, just blunt.

Hannibal:
Texas is nice!!!
Better than most states i have been to in the US . . . .
However, it depends on where u stay in the state so come clean and lets seperate the chaff from the wheat.
I stay at the best city, HOUSTON!! where the city is hot and the people are hotter. but dallas is okay too.

But thanks for the info.

Anyways, you still didn't answer my question.

What are the pickup lines you get there? embarassed
umm well, it depends on what kind of guy who are being talked to.

KarmaMod:
I hear incest is legal in Texas

90% of the population compromises of retards grin
so sad.

davidylan:
Texas pick up line - shawty . . . you be looking like my pet cow that i lost.

Aren't you in Texas?

Just wondering what kind of pick up line they come up with over there.

With the cows and all.

Just wondering embarassed Don't mind me, I'm just curious
Yal watch too much television. Texas is not just cows and farms. that is just a small portion of the ENTIRE state. it has cites and sites just like any other place. no one walks around in cow boy boots and stray hats. and besides, we get the same pick up lines the have all over the west coast and the south.
Romance › Re: Annoying Pick Up Lines! by onyinye2(f): 11:50pm On Jul 12, 2008
davidylan:
Onyinye na wa o. With this temper of yours we should change your name to Sheniqua.
wow that was so unnecessary. seriously you guys really need to stop with the insults. you guys watch way to much television for your own good. so just because a woman's name is Sheniqua, she gotta be loud and ghetto? yal need to stop with the stereotyping.

@ eldee

you are only seeing the Atlanta on television. you havent seen it all. question, how would yal feel if an American were to say that "I never been to Africa but i know it is nothing but lions and jungles. and people just live in bushes."??

KarmaMod:
Why are all these Southern women such hot-heads

O ga o.

Even when you agree with them they go crazy.

Perhaps its the weather
you remind me of my teenagers. whenever they are in an arguement that they are losing in, they start to attack the person just so they can some how gain control. or intimidate them. but it usually ends in them losing and looking like a jackass. so please keep your insults out. there is no need to bring them here. it just seems quit childish on your part.

The Sly:
Na wah for them in the souths ooo embarassed
No wonder you lot come to Nairaland to vent your angers on 'em guys up here about how they are wicked,Deadly e.t.c embarassed
I'm sure this Funmi lives in the Ghettoest part of the South too. . . . . .Ekpele ooo embarassed
What it do ko. . . . . . .what it cook ni. . . . . . embarassed
The Sly. . . just be quiet. seriously. you have no idea what you are talking about.

Hannibal:
I disagree with u there.
Geezers would say all kind of stuffs to women irrespective of their class, age, skin colour or height. wink wink wink
The thang is. . . . Men have their own different methods of getting the attention of em ladies.
Everyone just sticks to their formular. . . . sometimes it works, sometimes it backfires.
yes, it doesn't matter if you are from the south, naija, i dont care if you live in the freaking swamps in Australia, you stick to what works for you. so Eldee stop judging a place that you have never been to.

question is what does Onyinye herself act like? sometimes you attract the pick-up lines you get.
if you suggesting if i act like a tramp, umm NO!! guys just see a girl and throw what they know at her no matter how she acts.

eldee:

Fact 1
Crap chics get crap lines

Fact 2

Don't tell me u believe that too?? undecided
Me think she's been watchin way too much rap videos and Yo mommas TV shows
because that line sounds exactly like sum Lloyd and Lil Flips track?. . . . . . . .Its too awkward and pathetic to be real to me. sad
you obviously havent been to the south in the states. im not saying all guys talk like this but them wannabe cassanovas do.

KarmaMod:
She lives in The South where such pathetic lines were even made. What's not to believe?
back again i see. still hating on the south.

It's either what the dude learned from a friend or what he learned from the media.
Like someone said, the "A bay bay" song.
oka, "A bay bay" is a southern term. more used in New Orleans. so i use the term and my friends do too, even guys.
