hmmm im about to fall in love for the first time.

well, i have this feeling that tingles in my body. it is a scary feeling but yet so enduring. When i see him i just get into a lost of words. my heart starts beating triple times, and i begin to feel so weak. When im around him, i just feel like for that split moment not even a storm could separate us. When im on top of my bed, my mind is fulled with images of his affection. We can be on the phone for hours with out neither one of us saying a word. I get afraid to let people see that vunerable side of me. the side that knows that even though im strong and confident, in a way im still weak. but i let him see my alter ego, and im apprehensive about it, but it doesn't stop me. im a big on trust so dont like to get to close to people. i just people the surface of me. but with him i cant seem not give him my soul. When the words "I Love You" escaped his honey lips, i was forever changed. never had the words been directed to me my whole life. Then suddenly without thought, "I Love You" escaped from mine. never had i ever felt so safe with someone and not be afraid about it.

We've finally agreed on something.
this is truly a first. but yeah i just couldnt work where my husband worked. this is one of those things where you cant separate business from pleasure. then to add insult to injury we might get into an arguement at work with is very unprofessional so i rather just avoid all of that.

no sorry i couldn't. i mean it would just add complication to our marriage. one of you might take something personal that happened in the office and transfer it to the home. i just rather work here and him work all the over there.

What about a woman that beatz up her hussy?
this is one of those double standards that we have grown up to live with. im not saying woman are weak cause i know some strong woman, but compared to a man in anger, we woman dont stands a chance. a man can withstand the slap from a woman but woman can get really hurt if a man hits her.

i think i kinda get what you are saying. you have that feeling in the back of your head that the guy might be planning something against, but i highly doubt it. personally i dont know how you could have stayed in the relationship. i would have been over whelmed with guilt. i would have just gone and start a new relationship where i would have learned my lesson and be faithful. just a thought.
Culture › Re: Are You Proud To Be Black, African, Nigerian, Cameroonian, Igbo? Well, Not Me! by onyinye2(f): 2:53pm On Jul 09, 2008
well it seems like you obviously dont no the definition of "proud". let me fix that.

Feeling pleasurable satisfaction over an act, possession, quality, or relationship by which one measures one's stature or self-worth

now let me give you the definition of "quality"

an essential or distinctive characteristic, property, or attribute

Well to sum this up i have "satisfaction" of the "quality" of my "distinctive characteristic".

In the words of the late, great James Brown,

SAY IT LOUD, I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD!!!

@jay bee

my definition of being street smart is one's ability to have that cunning or shrewdness NEEDED to live in, or to deal with people in an urban environment, business deals/clients, etc. any one can have common sense but street smarts is a whole different category. being street smart is almost like one's ability to stay one step ahead.

jay bee:
book smart because that encompasses high element of common sense/reasoning which can then apply to street smart.

why do one have to be street smart anyway when it's not as if the society we live (definitely not nigeria) in requires street smartness
every society requires some amount of street smarts.
Romance › Re: Book Smart Or Street Smart by onyinye2(f): 1:58pm On Jul 09, 2008

i choose a mixture of both. You have to book smart around me. im always trying to educate myself with new things so i want someone who can relate to that. And when i dont understand something, he is intelligent enough to break it down for me. You also have to have street smart. it is just one of those things you should opt to learn. a guy needs to now he way around to know if someone is tricking or is real. having street smarts can really help especially if you live in a place like the states where scams are coming full force.

@girl22

i have lived in the south my whole life, and heard "bling bling" before Cash Money came out with the song.

oyb:
it seems you have a problem with numbersyou must think we are in the 60s or maybe the 20s

which is why you are harping on a sytae of affairs that hasn't existed in 50 years. or maybe nigerian are not the usual flavor of debaters you meets - ( you know that AAs don't read) which is why you can get away with such bull when debating with your fellow AAs.

whining twit. i'm yet to see any AA names as authors in the manuals/ I use. i don't see AAs in the microsoft MVPs or authodesk authorised trainers or as authors of fantastic freeware. i only see them when i turn on MTV. where 90% of them espous the most absurd values.

take a look at ebony - the supposed flagship magazine of AAs- who are the features there? where are the 'black professionals who outnumber entertainers' ?

numbnuts blathering about africans need to be educated. until you stumbled on nairaland, u problaly thought africans lived in trees. thats the sort of ignorance charactristic of AAs.

during WWII japanese amercans had to contend with discriminatin, camps, etal. we don't see them whining today. slavery is over a century old. get over it already. tongue
You are by far the most ignorant person i have ever encountered. First off where do come off saying that AA don't read?? well you so called "educated" brotha, there are tons of AA that read. probably better than you. What do you mean when you say that you don't see successful black people?? They are every where but you are too ignorant and racist to go look. Dr. Charles Richard Drew is in my books, and he was the man behind the idea of a blood bank. Otis Boykin was the guy behind the pacemaker. he is in my books. You better give your thanks to W.A. Lavallette because with out him there would have never been no printing press to print your worthless books. And why do you only state Ebony as a major AA magazine?? What about Black Enterprise which is especially made to prove racist like you how successful AA men and women are. How do yo go off calling AA people ignorant when you don't no damn thing about them yet go ahead and post such radical responses. Man you make me ashamed to be called a Nigerian. And my last point, how long were the Japanese held under captivity?? damn sure way less then how long AA people were slaves. Go read a book my young brotha and educate your self because they aint no way im going to let you disrespect my AA brothas and sistahs on this thread.

wow this is by far the most sad statement i have ever heard. what kind of monster would even put the thought in his mind to beat his wife. Question,

1. You would allow a man to beat your daughter?

2. You would allow a man to beat your sister?

3. You would encourage your son to beat his wife?

True the 22-game streak was impressive, but that's the reg season, nobody remembers what you do in the reg season, it's the playoffs that count and we all know that T-Mac has not been able to get out of the 1st rd in his career. Why should we expect anything different next yr? especially since they haven't added any significant players to help him n Yao? plus Tracy is an old man with all those back problems and injuries . . . he misses too many games and the door to success is closing very fast as he ages.

I hear you about hunger and desire, but if that was all that is needed to win big in the nba then Iverson would have 10 rings by now.
hey you gotta to have hope. if a team like the celtics which i must remind wasn't seen as a very good team before is now one of the top. . . for now. Yes i understand that T-Mac has alot to prove but i know they gonna get atleast past first round this upcoming season. Old man?? come on now.
