AgricultureDangote Tomato Processing Company Suspends Production by Opharhe(op): 6:04am On May 14, 2016
Kano - The newly established Dangote
Tomato Processing Factory in Kadawa,
Kano State, has suspended production,
its Managing Director, Alhaji Abdulkadir
Kaita, said.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria
(NAN) in Kano on Friday that the
company, which commenced
production in February, had stopped
production due to the lack of raw
materials.
He said that the company found it
necessary to suspend production
because there was no fresh tomatoes to
process.
He added that most of the tomato farms
in Kano, Jigawa, Plateau, Katsina and
Kaduna states were affected by a pest
popularly known as “Tuta Absoluta”
which killed all the tomato species there.
The managing director noted that the
pest had destroyed tomato farms in the
affected states, making the price of the
perishable commodity to go up.
The tomato processing factory boss,
however, said production would
commence during the next irrigation
season, emphasising that the company
had the capacity to process 120 tonnes
of fresh tomatoes per day at full
capacity.

Noooo they don't want to talk. They want to bring death and destruction from all points of the compass. You don't start violence and then claim you want t.o talk. The earth itself is crying from the pollution.
War is not about shooting guns and macho. It is serious hunger and suffering of women and children.
The people the soldiers the FG will unleash on the region are not going to be "very nice". They will commit genocide and people will say the NDA overstepped bounds and everything dies.
Then Nigeria will shut down. My people will not take any invasion of our lands or senseless killings in the hands of govt. lightly anymore; Odi is still fresh in our memory. Let Buhari take the bait and do whatever he likes, the victims too will seek their own pound of flesh in whatever way possible and maybe, just maybe that will mark the beginning of the end of this frustrating contraption of a country. Thank You.

Since the muslims wont dont like Non-Muslims commenting on their thread without confessing their alligiance to the Prophet Muhammed, then they should stay in their corner away from the free world and none to their threads should be on the frontpage.

Litmus:
There are some children you can reason with, give advise and they will run with it, become successful and so on. Conversely, there are some children you cant reason with because they are too stupid, shortsighted, immature and so on. These last group only learn from avoidable painful mistakes. For instance, you might get a child who insists on wearing their trousers low so that they subsequently walk like penguins. You tell them that although you hate their slovenly carriage, you will tolerate it since it is the current fashion among youths. However, you implore them to take their study's seriously. But they respond by telling you that they want to be a Celebrity when they grow up. Your eyes does this shocked , but you say, 'fine you want to be a Celebrity, but study for a profession too jut in case you fail to become a Celebrity. 'I'm not going to fail', they tell you, 'I'm going to be a celebrity. JZee didn't study and now look at him, a millionaire'. By this time you're seething, but you bare it and try to make sense to them, through clenched teeth. You say for instance, 'look, son, the Music industry thrives by limiting the amount of stars out there. There are billions of people in the world, while there can never be too much Doctors, Accountants, scientist and so on, Musicianship is limited. Even very talented individuals may not make it if they don't meet certain stereotype'. 'No, no', the boy says, 'anyone can be a Celebrity, i could be discovered tomorrow'. You tell him, 'ok, let me see what you're doing to become a star'. The boy starts rapping some crap.

Anyhow the upshot is that no matter what you do or say, this type of youth will never understand because he is the type of youth that only learns from mistakes. The problem is, if you decide to leave them, confident that in future they will regret badly, the satisfaction you get will not make up for the enormity of the tragedy of their failure in life.

Many of these supposedly Niger Delta youths doing militancy are stupid people that you cannot reason with or help see the failure that lies ahead for their so-called Delta Republic . Unfortunately, I TOLD YOU SO is not an option. We cannot wait for them to regret the consequences of their stupid acts.

Stop trying to reason with these people on Niraland, or even in the creeks, they're too thick to understand. Nigeria has to empower the wider community, win the trust of the majority of Niger Deltans.
'Win the trust of the majority of Niger-Deltans', that the key. But does Buhari recognise the need or how to go about it? Is he even ready to do that? Some statements attributed to the President especially that 5% comment has done a lot of damage in the relationship between the Presidency and the people who occupy the region of Nigeria's source of income. Is the President willing to do the right thing by re-assuring the entirety of Nigerians through his words and actions that he'll a President for all? Only Time will tell.

Fugazi:
Yorubas are gentle lions, unfortunately some think bravery means behaving like Fulani herdsmen.

As for those crying about smile 12, I guess the life of Yorubas lost during that attack means more than the Ibos and Fulanis killed. Wonder why Fulanis apologized to the Yoruba nation after the attack?

Yorubas have the means to attack economically, systematically and economically. It ain't all about chestbeating and making noise on social media while remaining irrelevant in the scheme of things.

As for OPC, still don't take y'all serious. You've been bought by political stooges. Until you do the following:

-----

1. Create a vigilante group in each Yoruba state
Ensure that young and able men, hand picked by their community and LGAs guard each LGAs of Yorubaland. How do you pay? The money that you got from GEJ should be able to pay for this. Demand that our leaders, politicians and the rich in our midst invest in Yorubaland security. Obviously, depending on Nigerian police is a waste of time. What did they do during Miles 12 or during Fulani attacks? Your guess is as good as mine.

2. Use your collective voice to demand state police
All Yoruba leaders should use their collective choice to demand state police. There is more than enough evidence suggesting that having a national police just doesn't work. It makes no sense to have to call Aso Rock when Ondo is under attack. Also, ensure that those employed are civilians/residence of that state. I don't understand how a Fulani police stationed in Ondo is supposed to understand Ondo people's plight during Fulani attack.

3. Send out Alert Letters
Inform people of possible and potential attacks. Let people be on alert for suspicious activities. Guide them on what to do during an attack and how they can protect themselves and other civilians around them.

4. Create safehouses across Yorubaland
This safehouse is where people will get help and assistance after attacks. Food, first aid kits, and other essential tools should be available in this safehouse. Inform your residence where these safehouses are located. Also, ensure that groups are created to go out and help people after an attack.

5. Make use of the Odua radio station.
Earlier this year, I heard that Gani created an Odua radio state. Make good use of it. let this be the communication tools that You can use to spread words throughout the SW. This radio should spread information about awareness, getting help, and finding solutions.

This is what you should be planning instead of making noise. We Yorubas have lost hope in your noisemaking. Show us that you prioritize your people and not politics.
In as much as i understand your point as regards political involvement, what the OPC has done in this post shows that they're proactive and sensitive as far as security of Yorubaland is concerned and this is commendable.

My people are even praying that the oil in their communities should dry up. The FG has it's blames, yes but Niger-Delta needs purposeful leadership to steer the society away from the excessive feeling of entitlement which is capable of causing a social disaster for us. Take Cross-River for example: they don't produce oil again(little if at all) since they lost some oil wells to Akwa-Ibom but look at what their state Govt. Is doing... We need that to be replicated throughout the region. May God help us.

You never fed the whole country with cocoa money; that's a big lie. Each region fed itself.... Just take note and don't spread falsehood.

Cross-River does'nt produce much oil, they even lost some oil wells to Akwa-Ibom recently.
