The Oba goes out but on rare occasions. The picture of the Oba and Queen Elizabeth you're referring to was when Queen Elizabeth visited Benin to meet Oba Akenzua since the Oba, for reasons best known to him, refused to attend the meeting of Kings in the old western region with the Queen at Ibadan. So the Queen had to visit the Oba in BENIN accompanied by Awolowo. The phrase 'Oba no dey go transfer' is generally due to the Oba's reluctance to visit people or places outside his palace(most times due to ritual restrictions)... It's a way of massaging his ego and that of the Edo people.

Say no more, I am currently having this discussion with a tribesman who is afraid of our domination by the Igbos if we join Biafra, and I am telling him that I will rather affiliate with People who have proven themselves in all ramifications of progress than being ruled by degenerate fools who have contributed nothing but violence and Retrogression to humanity. I have lived for 10 yrs in the Core North and another 10yrs in the South East, and believe you me, the difference is clear.
You're on point sir. Though I'm from the Niger-Delta, but i've observed that the scales of propaganda championed by the Northern establishment are falling off people's eyes gradually. If something serious is not done quick, this country may fall and the surest bet of the North central is totally dissassociating themselves from the core North. Do this and you'll forever appreciate your emancipation but if you do otherwise... I don't just want to imagine what will happen to you guys, my brothers in Christ. What gives me the most pain in that the approach of the Yoruba leadership to this issue.

Let other states join in and pursue it aggressively. People will surely make profit overtime because the meat and milk market is undersupplied in Nigeria. With that we'll be killing 2 birds with one stone- prove to them fulanis that it's achievable and it's the best modern practise, compete favourably with them in the meat market and possibly push them out of business.

PoliticsRe: Collapse 36 States To 6 Zones, Ekweremadu Tells FG by Opharhe: 8:15am On Apr 28, 2016
gidgiddy:
Naturally, most Southern Nigerians would want the 36 states collapsed into 'zones' or regions. The North will be against it because it will end their political domination of Nigeria. But as an Igbo man, what I'm sceptical against is what the zones will look like, particularly in the area sometimes called SS/SE. I want know what happens to Igbo elements such Igbos of the lower Benue, Delta Igbos, Rivers Igbos and the Abi Igbo speaking people of Cross River. I also want to know if the Efik/Ibibio nation and the Ijaw/Edoid people can actually be in one zone or are they going to be two separate zones or would they prefare to join their Igbo neigbours as one zone? These questions need answering and that is why a referendum has to be conducted before the creation of any zone so that the people can decide which zone they want to belong to.
Yeah, i see reason with your position. For me, the Igbos of lower Benue and Igbo-speaking territories of the SS(from Igbanke in Edo to Cross River) will be better under one zone with the SE. The Yoruba-Speaking people of the North (Kwara and Kogi) should also join the SW. The SS can either remain the way it is after the Igbos must have joined the SE OR it'll be split in two- 1. Western(Ijaw-speaking people of Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states + the Edo-speaking people of Delta and Edo state).
2. Eastern(Cross River and Akwa-Ibom). For the North they can also have 3 or 4 zones based on compatibility or mutual agrreement. #My2Cents

Not one inch of Southern soil and lands should be ceded, appropriated or leased for whatever purpose to Northern Islamic terrorists herdsmen. We southerners must hold firm on this position. None of our lands are available, period - no deliberations, no consultations, no debate! The federal officials championing such a reckless, senseless, and evil bill should take that useless bill and shove it down their STD-infested rectum. If the Federal government cares so much about grazing for cattles than protecting the lives and property of its citizens, then I think they should create grazing fields in the National Assembly, House of Representatives and in Aso Rock villa. APC is playing with fire! I voted for Buhari wholeheartedly, and honestly he's done a fine job so far except in this case of fulani herdsmen terrorists militias running a carnage rampage unchallenged across the country. If the APC-led federal government don't wake up to their statutory responsibilities, this single case of fulani herdsmen terrorism alone will guarantee they lose federal power in 2019! It took 16years to get it and if APC wants to throw it away after 4years, then so be it! I stand with Southern Nigeria, I stand with Yorubas, ibos, Ijaws, and every other southern tribe. The life of one man is incomparably more important and valuable than a zillion cattle. Maybe it's time we southerners develop our agriculture to meet our consumption demands, then we can cripple the economy of the North. I said it, and i'll say it again, such atrocious barbarism from Northern Islamic Hausas/fulanis savages will ignite crazy ideas in the south, crazy ideas that our ancestors were too dull to conceive, like Conquering the North angry. We have the intelligence, resources and manpower to make it happen. The only thing we lack in the south is unity, and ironically unity is the only major thing the North has going for them but it has always been sufficient to defeat us in the south because of our disunity.
You're so on point. I go with you %100.

PoliticsNo Free Land For Grazing Reserves- Governor Abiola Ajimobi by Opharhe(op): 9:48am On Apr 27, 2016
Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has said that the proposed creation of grazing zones across the country is ill- advised. He warned that it was against the spirit of the land use act and the overriding public interest. The governor bared his mind on the raging controversy trailing the alleged sponsorship of a bill at the National Assembly for the creation of grazing zones for cattle across the country as a panacea to the perennial clash between trespassing herdsmen and farm owners. Ajimobi spoke during the launch of the ‘AgricOyo,’ the Oyo State agriculture initiative, held at Paago, via Iseyin, in Oke Ogun zone of the state, on Tuesday. At the event were investors, outgrowers, beneficiaries, institutional partners, outtakers, traditional rulers, and top officials of the state. The governor said, “This is the time to call a spade a spade. Those clamouring for creation of grazing zones across the country should have a rethink. It is against the Land Use Act; it is against the law of natural justice to seize people’s land to cater for someone’s cattles. “Grazing zones could be created for those who are traditional cattle rearers in their areas. I’m not against that. But, you cannot come here and tell me you want to occupy our land for grazing zones. The land exists in our respective states and as such the rigthtful owners should decide what to do with them. “Anybody outside this zone willing to rear cattle here will need to approach the state to buy the land and we offer what is available with rules. There is no free land for grazing zones. We need to take this firm position. It won’t happen.” On the new agriculture initiative, the governor was upbeat that it would create one million direct jobs across the agric value chain thereby taking many unemployed youths off the streets. Ajimobi was upbeat that the state would become the food basket of the Southern part of the country in the short run when the programme commenced in full swing, with the ultimate ambition of feeding the country. The governor, who said that the initiative was aimed at diversifying the economy of the state, assured the people that the programme would add value to the lives of citizens of the state across different sectors. He said, “I am elated that the agricultural initiative has attracted these important dignitaries in the Agric business world and as well as a vast majority of our youths as beneficiaries of the scheme. “This project will reduce over-dependence on oil, create wealth, alleviate poverty, encourage productivity, create jobs and bring about the overall socio-economic uplift of Oyo State. “Farming is very profitable and we will do everything possible to make it attractive in Oyo State to diversify our economy.” He said the phase one of the project would focus on the production of maize, cassava, rice, poultry, soya beans and aquaculture. Speaking on the anxiety of farmers over security of their lives and their farmlands in the face of the menace of the marauding herdsmen, the governor charged the farmers and the entire rural dwellers to be more vigilant and report suspicious activities of offending cattle rearers to security agencies around them. He warned that it was illegal for the herdsmen to destroy farmlands and attacks farmers in the guise of feeding their animals. While welcoming the Governor and his entourage, the Caretaker Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Alhaji Saheed Alaran said that agricultural has always proven to be a major aspect of the social and occupational lives of the people. He said, “This programme will benefit the state immensely through the provision of food and employment to our teeming youths through the synergy between the state and the local government administrations.” In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of the State Agricultural Initiative Committee, Mrs. Tolu Shadipe, lauded the efforts of the state government in ensuring that the vision became a reality, a development she said would take agriculture back to its pride of place for the economic benefit of the people of the State. The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi and the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdul-Ganiyu Adekunle Salawudeen, in their separate remarks, commended Ajimobi for the initiative, which they said was unprecedented since the days of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

But why? Must everybody who does not go with your opinion be Igbo? Na wa o. I still stand by my word, the mockery you're talking about as i observed was not directed to the homeless, orphans, widows and widowers of Agatu. It's the polical class(state govt, David Mark etc) and those who are supposedly politically conscious(e.g. Omenka) but blinded by partisanship so much so that they could'nt speak out that were mocked if at all.
The people you're accusing actually spoke out on behalf of the Agatu victims. That's not even the main Issue because everybody here, as long as you're form North-central, South-west, South-East and even in recent times South-South(excluding cross river which have been recording encounters with these herdsmen for a long time now) you're in one way or the other threatened by this invasions and the earlier we stood together against the common foe, the better for us. Karma is crazy.

It is so sad for this menace to come into the heartland of Ibo land, despite all their name calling of Agatus and pathetic fun making of them.

All the same, Fulani herdsmen are blood sucking demons will must all (Yorubas, Igbos, Ijaws, Itshekiris, hausas, Nupes, Kanuris etc) unite to either annihilate or deport back to Fouta Jalon.
I beg to disagree with the first sentence sir. Those guys did not really mock Agatu people the way you've put it. It was more of gingering to those guys to do the needful and not wait for govt. I read many comments here and i saw that Igbo folks were more outspoken against the carnage in Agatu while accusing the FG of insensitivity. They sympathised with the victims. The area where I'll agree with you is where they were mocking those who are from that area who were strongly pro-Buhari and will not react to Fulani invasion of their own homeland or even call on the govt. to do something but are fierce antagonists of the opposition. From my observation, they participated more in general public sensitization against the fulani invasions even more than those guys of North central extraction who were the real victims. You should also know that so far, they've put up the strongest resistance to the Fulani menace- online and offline. You remember the other time where the DSS had to come to Aba and were accusing IPOB of Fulani killings? What about the 72 people from this particular Enugu community that the Army arrested, prosecuted before they were bailed just because they stood in protest against the invaders? What about that Enugu native doctor whose story was reported here of how he was shot severally by the same fulani aided with cover-up soldiers after concluding a meeting where the fulani issue was discussed in his village? An Injury to one is an Injury to all. I'm hearing now that over 20 fulanis have already been taken down in reprisals( Not the best, but choices are very limited right now, i just pity the innocents among them). We southerners and middlebeltans have a common enemy in the fulani invaders. I totally support your second sentence. We must come together to purge ourselves of these demons. Thanks.

The earlier we allow states to go and manage their resources, the better for us. I'm from Ebonyi and I know that we will be alright without oil.. angry
Seriously, that's what we need right now.we need a loose federal structure. It'll be of great good to all of us. We won't have to cross each others path as much as we have it now all because we want our own share from the centre; Govt. will be more accountable especially to the grassroots, corruption will be greatly reduced, state govts. will be more efficient, quota system will be abandoned, reduced tribal/religious tensions... Infact, the benefits are innumerable. It's high time we revisited the constitution.

Number 14 in d OP post was his response to Fulani Hersdmen.

Excerpts from thisday Newspaper:
The vice president, who fielded questions from a wide range of interest groups from different sectors of the polity, talked tough on the violence currently being perpetrated by herdsmen in various parts of the country. He warned that violence of any sort was no longer acceptable to the Buhari presidency, stating, “Nobody can enforce any type of right by violence. The use of violence to dispossess others is unacceptable!”

Yeah, i too sensed that was what he was referring to but then, the response was not particular enough. There are many categories of people who criminally disposess others through violence in Nigeria but clearly the issue of Fulani herdsmen is a very peculiar case. Using the word 'armed herdsmen' at least would have gone a long way in hitting the nail on the head. Thanks and happy Sunday.
