desaie: I have called him he said I should come 9am tomorrow. I don't have double vision, just blurred vision and objects seems closer than usual. I have tried the ice pack on the eyes, just little effect. when I called the doctor, he asked if it was red which it isn't. No serious headache. can I check sugar level now as I have eaten breakfast though i checked both sugar and bp 2weeks ago and they were normal
no muscle pain, I just find it difficult to sleep at nights cos I keep thinking of the eyes and its making me restless. well since u hv checked ur bp nd blood sugar just 2 weeks back nd the result were ok, that's fine. What effect after the ice test did u notice ? |

desaie: hello Doc,
Last week Friday I took the step for another opinion. meanwhile I stopped taking the eye drop and drug on Wednesday to clear out of my system. the Optometrist I saw on Friday did eye pressure test, he got 17 and 18 for the 2 eyes and said it is normal but he said we have to bear in mind that I was taking drop till Wednesday and the day was Friday. he told me to come back on Thursday for a new eye pressure test. he said the cup size is within normal and not enough to diagnose glaucoma but he said we should chill till Thursday. so I have stop taking drugs and eye drop since Wednesday, just PCM for pain. the doctor even said my vision is 100% there which I confirmed. just the blurriness and slight headache sometimes.
but within yesterday and today, one eye started closing compare to the other. attached is the picture. not painful but the discomfort is too much. I am beginning to develop fever. hi dear, this isn't having to do with eye pressure. Do u experience muscle weakness?, double vision? I'll recommend u checking ur bp and going for a blood sugar check ASAP. Also there might be need to do a CT scan . Get an ice pack and place on ur eye that is closing for 5min and tell me if it opens wider than how it used to be. U'll be needing to Go back to your doctor ASAP and inform him /her of the latest development |

rationalist007: I experience sharp pain in my eyes when I look at something bright and also when I use my phone for long I feel water coming out of my right eye.. @optm please help you are photophobic hence the discomfort around lights and this symptom can be associated with different eye conditions hence there's a need to see ur eye doc and address it. Also try to blink often when using ur phone nd try to take 20sec breaks every 20min by looking away from your phone . Also using photochromic AR glasses can help and u still have to be examined for a refractive error. So u see you LL be needing to see an eye doc |

Antiochus: But I think this latest CVF test won't require OCT anymore since you said my visual field isn't normal? That's a sign of glaucoma. yes but the defect is mild and it all still depends on what your doctor handling your case wants. you have to listen to his/her opinion first. |

Antiochus: I have not been given drugs. I'll book an appointment with the Glaucoma specialist this Friday. And I'll show him the latest CVF test he'll compare it with the one I did last time. And if he tells me to go for the 40k test which you called OCT 2weeks ago. I'll do it too. ok that's kul. |

Antiochus: I don't know my IOP. The first test I did this year the eyes were dilated and I was asked to close the eye for 15 mins which I did. After the first 15mins they administer another drop. They did it 3ce and I was asked to sit before a machine and the opthalmologist pointed a yellow light into the eye one after the other and later said my disc is suspicious. She told me to do a CVF test which I did.
And I was referred to a glaucoma specialist who told me I would have to do the CVF test again in 3 months time and he said I'll still do one that costs 40k at a private university hospital. So I went for the 2nd CVF test today. oh ok . So what drugs were u placed on ? |

olorunwa90: Hello Dr
Today makes it a week I developed redness, itching and tearing in my eye as well as white discharge in the morning when I wake up
Although, I hardly see while on using the Computer system, watching the TV, and projector while at work.
I have gone to the clinic and was given chloramphenicol eye drop to you. I have been using this for 2days now. continue using it. Give it time to work and apply as instructed. Ensure you wash ur hands regularly and use only disposable materials to clean the eyes so you do not keep re infecting the eyes by using same on it , when you apply the eye drop , try close d eye for some minutes before opening. Overtime, u'll be fine hopefully |

Neverlosemoney: Buildings contractor. I thought there are eyes drop one can use? probably that's where your issue is coming from. Your eyes are most times exposed to irritants which causes the redness. you should try get an occupational safty goggles to help protect your eyes from things that would trigger the redness or u use normal goggles it should help a lot and if it doesnt, you should schedule fr an eye exam |

twixx: White things from the eyes, yes the thing you get when you wake up.
Yesterday I want to an optometrist and after some tests he said there was a detachment. She gave me tablets and eyedrops to use for two weeks and said I should come in after two weeks for follow up are you sure you got right the explanation? If there was a detachment, he wouldnt hv u wait to have you referred to a surgeon. Yes for the eye gunk, drugs could address it but if there is a probably retinal detachment, u'll be needing surgery ASAP to hv it reattached |

desaie: I am 29years old. I did eye pressure test yestersay, it was reading 14 and 12 for the two eyes. I already started using accetazolamide (zolamox) and slow k with pain relieve. I got relieved a bit on Saturday but by Sunday I was back to square.
the doctor said I should continue the drugs and he changed my drop to just timolol but still feeling same way. All blurry. he said blurriness ought to have gone by now. he said if there is no improvement for the next 1week, I might go for CT scan. I am depressed with all of this.
the funny thing is I can see well, I can read also no matter how small. the blurred vision is giving issues. like the eyes are heavy, if I step out in the sun, it worsens. so sorry desaie. Do not feel depressed already. It's just a challenge and i'm hopeful u'll get through with it. I'll really need a lot of info to put things together to possibly know what might be the issue with your eyes. Your doc is a professional and i respect his/her opinion but if you are having the finance to seek a second opinion elsewhere, u should give it a try and see if their opinion tallys with that of your doc. Stay strong, u 'll pull through this. Best wishes |

Neverlosemoney: Doc, as a result of constantly working in the sun, which I do not know could have side effect, over the years my eyes as become very red, but I can still see very clearly. Just that my eyes is reddish which was formerly white, please is there any drug you can prescribe for me, that will correct this defect. Thank you for this thread it is very invaluable. well, there re no drugs to whiten the eyes but if the redness is caused by an inflammation/allergies, it could be taken care of by drugs. Re you around dusty or smoky environ ? What's the nature of ur work if u wouldnt mind answering that here |

It happens usually when i'm in dark rooms but sometimes i get it in well lit rooms. do you experience moving particles in your field of view ? Try comparing vision in that eye against the other ; any noticeable difference ? |

your sister is likely having short sightedness (myopia) on that eye and sometimes myopes (especially high and progressive type) are predisposed to having a retinal tear /detachment and this could also present with floaters. Antioxidants to the best of my knowledge doesnt cure floaters. the cause of the floaters should be investigated and addressed. |

You should schedule an eye exam |
