I was recently diagnose of glaucoma after complaining of blurry vision. was giving drop combo of dorzolamide and timolol. the issue now is that instead of the blurry vision to clear as said by the doctor I saw, the blurriness is increasing with pains in my head and at the back of my head. he said it is the side effect of the drop and should clear off but I am not feeling any better. what do I do please. I don't want to loose my sight.
what was your iop reading ? How old re you? does the blurryness improve at any point in time ? Well , glaucoma drugs doesnt restore vision , it can only help u to preserve what's left

The drug may not actually cause harm if those below18yrs use it. It might hv been stated that way cos persons below 18yrs were not used in the clinical trial of d drug and therefore safety of use in such age groups has not been established . The doctor might have learnt from experience that it's safe to use in such age groups or sometimes modify its dosage/ application for such age. The best way to go about this is getting in touch with your doc nd hear out his reasons. Doctors or healthcare workers aint ur enemies and most mean well fr their patients . Some are in all earnesty putting in efforts to give their patients the best care possible. Sometimes , they make mistakes in the course of rendering care and many learn from such mistakes. they keep learning from cases they encounter and get better in the job. Doctors are not superhumans nd re not all knowing .
Another aspect common with private clinics is giving any other drug when the most suitable or recommended is out of stock in their clinics ;not paying attention to whether it would be in d patient's best interest but because they want to make sales.

I work in finance company and I'm in charge of all accounts. All monies are been remitted to me. The M.D of this organization is such a generous but uneducated woman. My colleagues are leveraging on this to siphon organization's funds to their various pockets. I'm not oblivious of this fact because I'm so sensitive to things around me,but I am d God fearing type that won't participate in such a dirty act.
I've called majority of those in this illicit act privately to warn them and let them know the implications. But to my utmost surprise, the bull-shit keep getting high and d MD is not the type to tell such hidden things, she will reveal the identity of her Intel.
The problem now is that,if this act persist, the company may go bankrupt sooner than later. Even though, the job is not worth dying for, half bread they said it's better than none. I can't afford to be jobless.
Please advise me on what to do?

NB: I'VE SUBMITTED APPLICATION TO OTHER COMPANIES BUT NO RESULT YET.
drop her an annonymous message. if the company folds up, it not only affects u, it would also affect others that would hv benefitted from being employed by her in future. Your colleagues are selfish people nd should be sacked. do not feel guilty about it if they get sacked because they very well deserve it. Afterall the boss is a nice woman, ask yourself it she deserves being paid this way by her workers for her being a nice boss.

Still no cure for amblyopia?
amblyopia is better treated when the person is still at a very young age say before 8years but there are studies on improvement in adults using some kind of visual training software. You should seek the help of an orthoptist on that .

Yes i still experience discomfort while on system even with my glasses. I got a new prescription 2 months ago. At times i would feel like i have pepper sprayed into the eye at times it stings i experience itching too and it aches there by leading to headache and tiredness, all these happen when i work on computer or phone for sometime. I do experience dryness at night.

My opthamologist told me to stop staring at screen at nights cause of the glare these device emit. So i try my best to stop using my phone, system at night even i avoid watching TV at night too cause my eye is too sensitive to these devices at night.
i suggest you should do a tears assessment test to rule out tears insufficiency as regards this complaint .

Thanks i really appreciate your response.
I couldn't sleep the day i did the test. My life has changed ever since then,. I think about it everyday. Please what can i do to avoid eye pressure that damages the disc. Should i limit my computer use? And is that large cup disc ratio linked to any other eye issue aside glaucoma?

And at times i used to experience this feeling like there is an object in the eyes trying to force itself out. As if my eyeball wants to jump out or burst after looking at the screen for a long period of time or when i look at the ground.
computer use doesnt cause or worsen glaucoma. If a diagnosis of glaucoma is established, you ll be placed on drugs to help manage the condition although there aint any cure and if you adhere strictly to ur doctor's recommendations , there ll be likely no much issue. Myopia could be associated with large cup disc ratio aswell . Some persons just have somewhat large cup disc ratio naturally
As regards your discomfort after use of system, do you use ur glasses while working on the system and yet experience same discomfort ? If yes, how long have you been using your current lens prescription ?

Hello Sir.
I went for a dilated eye exam last february and the opthmologist said my disc is suspicious she told me to go and do CVF test. After doing it i was referred to a glaucoma specialist to read the CVF test after reading it the man said i'll have to do another CVF test in 3 months time. I was suprised to hear that because i was thinking he should be able to detect my Visual field with the one i did and each CVF test cost 5k here.

He told me i'll still have to do another visual test that costs N40k at a private university hospital here because the state hospital here does not have the machine. I'll do another CVF test next week and after that i'll be referred to a private hospital to do a test that costs 40k. I also have refractive error and i use glasses too. So what is the meaning of "suspicious eye disc"? Is it that i have glaucoma? And i work on digital devices a lot that is the reason why i have refractive error and is there any connection between working heavily on computer and glaucoma/eye pressure?

I am 28 years old
hi there. Yeah CVF isnt what is done on a one off basis. You might need to take the test from time to time to tell if there's is further worsening of visual field defect or if it's stable . your doctor might be asking for a repeat in 3 months time just to ensure the results re consistent or to tell if theres a worsening of visual field defect within this period. The other test costing about 40k should be OCT required sometimes to establish a diagnosis of glaucoma. you are likely having a large cup disc ratio which sometimes is associated with glaucoma hence the use of d term 'suspicious disc' and there is need for further investigation to tell if it's actually glaucoma or not requiring these tests you are asked to do . I hope this helps

i dont just feel comfortable in it and after i remove it. it gets all blurry again.
i'll try to use it more now, thanks.
what's the nature of discomfort u re having ? Yes it would get blurry without the glasses. The glasses is helping you to focus images of objects on the retina so u can see clearly and making you not to strain when viewing objects. It would do u much good to use your glasses regularly . If d discomfort is from the frame you are using, u could get another frame and have the lenses transferred in (note; u should meet ur eye doc to guide u on the frame size or shape ur lenses can be transferred to ) or better still make new pair of glasses using the new frame .

good evening doctor,
i'm getting serious headaches when i dont use my glasses.
i cant use my glasses always, i dont know if i need eye drop now or something. thanks.
if you get headaches only when you do not use your glasses , then your headaches can be attributed to uncorrected refractive error which the glasses is taking care of and there are no drugs to substitute glasses . You should ensure you use your glasses always. I'll like to know why u cannot use ur glasses always

According to the doctor, the pressure was fine not bad, the last time I checked was last year August/September .I have BN using it regularly, here are the test attached.
hi. I couldnt make out details from the pictures posted (isnt clear ) but was able to notice from the bebie curve (the graph like drawing on the lower right ) on the test results that you are having a localized defect on your visual field but then again i was barely able to see a bit of the reliability indices from the second pic posted. To cut the long story short and to avoid too much grammar , lolz. The accuracy of the test done is to be questioned and the results cannot be relied on in making accurate judgements. Your doctor should have asked you to repeat the test. I advise you either go bk to your doctor to tell him or her your concerns and asks to be clarified on the diagnosis and what you are being managed for or seek a second opinion elsewhere

I really don't know which one, but anytime I'm focusing at someone, the person normally feel that I'm looking at someone else. So most times I prefer avoiding eyes contact while discussing with someone
hi I really empathize with you knowing how this might have affected your self esteem but i think it's quite late at this point in wanting to do something about it; as surgery at this time, may cause you to have visual problems like seeing things double (diplopia). Strabismus management is kinda complex. You could seek the expertise of an orthoptist that would carry out some tests on you and counsel based on his findings and expertise if surgery is an option here But I doubt. For now, I suggest you use tinted lenses so it doesn't appear too obvious to onlookers .

Doctor, you have not responded this my question.
sorry i did not get to see your question in time. I could miss them if i do not get to be mentioned . Yes sleep deprivation could affect your eyes in some way as sleeping is a way your eye gets to rest. Depriving your eyes rest could cause your eyes to be tired causing eye spasms/twitching , your eyes could feel dry and itchy, having eyebags/ dark circles around d eyes. you should seek professional help for your insomnia

Anyways, if u think you are having an eye lid dermatitis by self diagnosis, the management is investigating the likely cause and treating accordingly and steroidal drugs are used too. I'm sorry i cannot prescribe online without examining you and having a good knowledge of your case history.

The lagos state government should as a matter of urgency curb the activities of these louts . how would some persons through thuggery reap off the sweats of legit hustlers and it is not considered a criminal offence by the govt ? It's no different from robbery as they forcefully make u part with your finances , posing risk of bodily harm upon refusal and not offering u any goods/ services to justify such payments.

you should review your lens prescription as it ought be reviewed every 2 years .while at this , if there's something else that might be responsible aside your glasses, i'm sure your doc would find out . As for the itching , you'll be given an eye drop for that when you visit your eye doc . Regards
