forget all this talk about d. pharm helping the medical profession. it's all about the money. it's about collecting the so called big allowance from govt

there is the optician who insist that "Dr" must be attached to her name wen she is called. when the so called "Dr " had someone who was sick, she then forgot she was the "Dr " is has being claiming

after all these "doctors " has given medication and there is no relieve.they would still be the ones to say go and see ur doctor
an optician is neva a doc by degree. if u cal an optician a Dr na ur ignorance na im cause am.

Very soon everybody working in the hospital will soon be addressed as Dr. We already have Dr of Optometry for people who specialize in eye glasses and are already in battle with Medical specialists that take care of eye diseases, do surgeries and recommend eye glasses (that optometrists then dispense!). Soon these Dr. of Pharmacy will want to do ward round, run out patients clinics, etc.
Dr. of Medical Laboratory Sciences is loading as well as Dr. of Social Work, Dr. of Psychology, Dr. of Nursing, Dr. of Hospital Attendants, etc

O good Lord, deliver us!
u re really naive. pls go get knowledge on who an optometrist is bfr coming here to spill trash. Google is there to educate u

Doctor-Patient consultation is not done on a public forum. Caution should be advised when prescribing drugs, for this is a public forum and the drug could get in the wrong hand. Worse, to treat a condition to which the drug is not related to.

Before drugs are prescribed, a doctor worth his salt combines both physical and mental states of his patients to help make an accurate diagnosis.

Medical school is not for fools. It's 6 years of grueling work. So to come here and see people dispensing drugs to the public is alarming. Also, to those seeking advice from them, why will you put your health at the risk and mercy of "Doctors" whose qualification and competency you know nothing of?

Pls, kindly desist from making uninformed diagnosis, and prescribing medication to the public.

Many thanks.
no one is making any uninformed diagnosis here. though eye drops may hv been recommended in one or two posts here nd that i also frown at. bt d thread has been useful . pple do not come here to b treated bt to seek Info on their eye health challenges. besides it's a public forum and there are numerous health practitioners here who could as well mk corrections to any wrong Info being passed across.

[quote author=kannyluv post=46593707]the stone hit my nephew in the eye on may last year,,,yesterday bein 14 June 2016,I took him to Eye specialist for Another Examination.the scan showed..(1) heterogeneously thickened Echogenic lens,Matured cataract...(2).A thick linear band was seen extending from the optic disc to the retinal periphery in keeping with a low-lying retinal detachment.............they recommend two surgery...and The parent lack money for the surgery.....Doctor. pls what's your advise on this issue ?[/quote we wldnt know d xtent or type of detachment bt i think d dr attending to him is in a better position to decide d treatment plan. Probably xtractin d cataract cld caus an improvement nd reattaching d detached retina cld b needed to avoid complications depending on his clinical findings. Trust his judgements; hez a professional nd is xpected to act as one. U cn discus with him on whts d xpected outcome after the surgery.

Your brother's retinal detachment was caused by eye trauma, due to the force 4rm the stone on his eye.For effective treatment,he cause and type must 1st be sort out through a comprehensive case history and examnation.photocoagulation(sealing the torn retina) is usually done, this wil help 2 prevent further damage and may also bring about improvement in vision if the ganglion fibres and other posterior segments are still workng fine. Thanks
prognosis depends on hw long d detachment has been. Vision may not b recovered if it is long standing

Can you see that reddish body on the medial side? it is a growth from under the upper eyelid.. very close to the canthus. it produces pus.
there was never pain. It is not a chalazion. a chalazion is hard/tough and nodular and under the skin. This one is a fleshy overgrowth
I do not have a good visual of it

A NL user emailed this case to. me a while ago, and he allowed me share it. What does the house think it is??

Presentation

Started a month ago as a small elevation, increased in size
No pain
No visual disturbance
Patient bought gtt cipro and had been using it for 2wks

Examination
The growth actually arises from the upper palpebral conj
There is also severe hyperemia in the lower palpeb. conj and fornix.
Bulb. conj is Normal
The growth actually hangs down next to the caruncle like a pendulum , the growth has a tip and produces a watery yellowish discharge (muco. p)

Vision is normal. There is no itch too
can't really get a good view of it . can't see anything hanging close to the caruncle i suspect it to b over the superior limbus . nevertheless from what was described , It's having the presentation of hordeolum. at the initial stage of the growth was there pain? can't really tell much Because I'm not having a Good visual of the growth. you may also need to rule out a chalazon too; but it having discharge is makin it a bit confusing . just makin judgements from what was written though #blind judgements lol

Exactly... I think its pterygium coz i just googled about its signs and symtoms now.
Its like a small fleshy pink growth.
Become more red after coming back from under d sun.
Atimes it stays a little brigher(close to white)
its making me feel embarrassed.(when people say i should stop looking at them so i dont give them apollo)
VISINE was amongs the eye drop recommended back then and i notice it clears d redness for a short period of time like 15-20mins then the redness comes back.
10days since the redness started.
sad
d pics isn't clear enough for me to tell the type of growth you are having. just meet with your eye Dr and avoid self medication

pls... One part of my eyes usually gets red and itchy atimes.
Just 1 particular spot... Kindda swollen.
Its nt d first time its happening to me.
Ve used many eye drops in the past bt non seem to work.
Last time it stopped, think d doc prescribed some drugs with antibiotics...
And in less than 5days it stopped.
That was about 4yrs ago.
Suprised it just started again
I would not like to ask too many questions here. I just presume you may be having an inflammation of a localized growth; probably a pterygium or a pinguecula . just meet with your eye doc he or she would be in a better position to make a diagnosis after examination and proffer treatment
