Xander85: Interesting Google shots of Onitsha and other parts of Anambra! Though i didn't get the point being made with the comparisons between Onitsha and Ibadan.
I noticed the older parts of Onitsha are so well-planned and laid out in a nice grid system. Pity subsequent developments by the black Africans that took over after independence didn't continue with such a tradition!
I also noticed there's a serious lack, if not total absence, of parks in our cities; dedicated open green spaces with wooded areas and well-tended sweeping lawns. This can not only serve as a place where individuals and families can go to relax, but can also help the city to breath and mop up the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere!
If only the analog leaders of today used simple things as satellite imagery to plan development of housing estates, roads and rail to make it easy to move good and services around. The era of "blind" development should have been over now that google satellite imagery is easily available.
At least Trump loves America. Buhari desperately hates Nigeria. Especially the people he calls 5% that he only remembers how to deceive and use them during elections.
The truth is that American economy has been booming since Trump became President. The reverse was the case for Nigeria.
Buhari refused to create an economic team to manage the economy. When he finally appointed a finance Minister, he got someone from London polytechnic. Even till date as the economy is still going down, Buhari has refused to appoint a finance minister. Trump would NEVER treat America with so much indifference. That is why i believe the man in Aso rock may indeed be a Sudanese.
Pastorlarry: Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on the United States Government to mount pressure on the Federal Government against using the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to manipulate the 2019 elections.
Addressing journalists after a meeting with the United States Consul General to Nigeria, Mr John Gray at the Government House Port Harcourt on Tuesday , the Rivers State Governor, said that the actions of President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government indicate that they are not interested in credible polls.
He said: “We are preaching for free and fair elections and violence free elections.
I let them know that we stand for free and fair elections. We stand for violence free elections.
“Our fear is that we don’t confidence that the Federal Government through INEC would want to conduct free and fair elections.
“You know that the security agencies are partial. Even the refusal of the President to assent to the amended Electoral Act gives us the impression that they are not interested in free and fair elections. ”
The governor added: “Not having free and fair elections portend doom and danger for this country.”
Governor Wike called on President Muhammadu Buhari to rescind his decision and follow the path of honour to sign the amended Electoral Act.
He said: “We believe that Mr President would rescind that decision and assent to the amended Electoral Act so that Nigerians will have confidence in the Electoral process.
“The International Community has every role to play to impress on the President, security agencies particularly the police and INEC to be impartial during the elections.”
The governor said that the unnecessary changes in the nation’s security architecture show that the Federal Government is working against credible polls.
“Look at the changes in the security architecture in the country. Commissioners of Police are moved right, left and centre. In two days, some states have gotten four commissioners of Police. All these indicate that things may not be well in 2019”, he said.
In his remarks; United States Consul General, Mr John Gray noted that the United States Government is committed to ensuring credible elections where the will of the people will prevail.
He said : “What we talking about today is that all we are looking for as we enter the election season is free, fair, credible and peaceful elections.
“The United States Government does not support any candidate. United States Government supports a clean fair process in which the choices of the Nigerian citizens come through
GBAM!
Buhari is simply waiting to use INEC to announce fake results that he has already written, and then tell army to shoot innocent protesters.
In the end, Buhari will still fail to stay in power illegitimately after shedding the blood of innocent protesters.
The truth is finally being revealed and many Igbos hitherto converted from their Jewish cultural way of life by the British colonial authorities are returning back to Judiasm.
It is amazing that even market women know and tenaciously profess the Igbo Jewish ancestry.
Families are beginning to learn and raise their children in the Jewish way of life. Even the lies of British history writers did not make the Igbo people to forget their true Jewish ancestry.
Perhaps, that is why the Igbo is so despised the the Islamic north.
socialmediaman: The 2018 Rating by Transparency International placed Nigeria at 148th position out of 180 countries. Nigeria was improving over the years under the previous government, until Buhari got elected as president, things became worse.
There is a difference between fact and fiction. We need to face facts, Buhari is worse than GEJ when it comes to fighting corruption, at least that’s what the facts prove.
Most of us believed there was corruption under Goodluck Jonathan’s Government. I agree with those who did, there was corruption, but not as bad as it is today under Mohammadu Buhari.
In 2012, Nigeria was placed at 139th position, In 2014, Nigeria gained 3 steps and was placed at 136th position. Under Buhari, Nigeria has lost many positions down to 148th.
There’s no further proof needed that corruption has worsened under Buhari’s government compared to previous years.
If land was given for a university or a federal agency and the Buhari Federal Government turns around to use the land for fulani herdsman cattle ranches, the community must take back their land for breach of purpose.
It's as simple as that. The communities will also organize resistance groups to make sure cattles don't survive on their land.
Buhari is always thinking of how to scam Nigerians.
Eldavido1: lovely article. I think nigeria's economy is fast diversifying. Though coming a bit late, the growth in agriculture, manufacturing, retail and construction is a testament to that. At one point Ghana instituted taxes and levies on foreign businesses which was more or less directed at Nigerians. The Nigerian government had to respond before those acts were reverse. That to some extend affected the relationship between the two countries unlike in the days of Obasanjo and kufour were nigeria loan Ghana about $25 million or so.
All these fake articles to console Nigerians will not change the reality on the ground.
Economically, Ghana has done better and continues to do better than Nigeria. In last 4 years, Ghana's GDP has grown above 5% while Nigeria has been between Negative - 1%.
Today, there are more Nigerians running to live and educate their children in Ghana than vice versa.
Nigeria needs a leader that will focus on economic growth not Buhari politics of undermining different parts of Nigeria he calls 5%.
IT WAS A DISASTROUS MISTAKE TO ALLOW A SWEET-TONGUED THIEF AND INEXPERIENCED CHARLATAN LIKE BUHARI TO HANDLE A SENSITIVE JOB AS PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA!
BUHARI IS ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT HIS OWN WELFARE. IF YOU DOUBT IT, ASK OUR SOLDIERS. WHY CAN"T BUHARI ORDER THE NEEDED AMMUNITION FOR OUR TROOPS?
BUHARI IS ONLY CONCERNED IN PROVIDING THE BEST HEALTHCARE IN LONDON FOR HIMSELF, WHILE EVERYTHING ABOUT NIGERIA'S WELL-BEING IS TOTALLY IGNORED- INCLUDING THE NATIONAL ECONOMY.
WE MUST HAVE FRESH DIRECTION FOR NIGERIA IN 2019 AND MOVE AWAY FROM POVERTY AND BUFFOONERY OF BUHARI
Nnamdi Kanu is working for Buhari as part of his secret release agreement.
He is an enemy of Ndigbo and we don't pay him any attention at all.
A staunch IPOB member just deleted all her hitherto youtube videos praising Nnamdi Kanu. This is just the beginning. Our people are no fools to be taken for granted by crooks like Nnamdi Kanu
