@ OsunAmazon,That's how people start rumours without confirming from the right source first. |
It's really a mystery to me. It makes me picture somebody who goes by the name Adisa Ekundayo (With parents known as Chief and Mrs Bayo Ekundayo) speaks fluent Yoruba but tells you (vehemently) he is not not Yoruba but rather he's 'Ola' Somebody gotta explain this thing to me, because I simply don't get it.Are we no more allowed to choose anything or tribe we want to call ourselves irrespective of the language we speak. Some people from Kwara speak and have yoruba names but will always deny they are yorubas. Why not let them be afterall it's their individual right. |
I musnt obey everything my husband says just like we don't obey all our parents commands, This is because they r not alwayz right,Therefore you prefer to obey your desire? What if our husbands do the same? Do you think we women can live with that? I mean if men are allowed to obey their desire after marriage, half of the women in every street will be pregnant with bastards. |
Should a wife obey her husband in ALL things or rather obey her desire? or are there cases where she's allowed to disobey him entirely? Are there situations where the man must obey his wife too? |
These said cow sure are really expensive!I'm quite surprised because $3K per cow is not too high considering how our govt inflates contracts afterall the street value of a normal cow is about $1500, add the transportaion and the 'special breed' price plus other miscellaneous expenses like visas and duty fees for the cows. |
Iyabo Obasanjo's disappearance cripples Senate committee on health Taiwo Adisa, Abuja Monday, May 5, 2008 ACTIVITIES of the Senate Committee on Health have come to a standstill following the disappearance of the Chairman, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, since April 15. advertisement The senator is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over her role in the N300 million scandal that rocked the Ministry of Health, leading to the resignation of the minister, Professor Adenike Grange and the Minister of State, Mr. Gabriel Adukwu. Senator Obasanjo-Bello, who was last week charged by the EFCC and admitted as one of the accused in the case preferred by the anti-graft agency against the suspects in the N300 million scandal, has not presided over the meeting of the committee since her disappearance. The committee, which usually meets once every week, has been in limbo, as the vice chairman cannot convene the meeting. “The vice chairmen of Senate Committees cannot run the affairs of the committees when the chairman is not available, they are not in the know about the finances of the committee. Nearly all our chairmen run as chief executives,” a Senate source told the Nigerian Tribune. It was gathered that both local and international correspondences are being piled up to await the return of Senator Obasanjo-Bello since her disappearance three weeks ago. “The meeting of the committee has stopped and nothing is moving, but I can tell you, we have so much to do,” another source said. The search effort of the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Kanti Bello, for the senator has failed to yield results as the senator was said to have given up the search. The Senate Chief Whip was mandated two weeks ago to search for and confirm the safety of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello after her house was raided by EFCC operatives in an attempt to arrest her. Senator Kanti Bello was to later tell the Nigerian Tribune that he had failed to locate the senator and that he had no clue as regards her whereabouts. The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, also said last Thursday that the Senate was not in touch with Iyabo Obasanjo since she disappeared from the Senate. A source in the committee, however, told the Nigerian Tribune that the Senate President, Senator David Mark, would be notified of the state of the committee following Iyabo’s disappearance. “There are a number of issues pending before the committee and we cannot continue to wait for the chairman before we can move ahead. We don’t even know her plans as she is not in touch with any member of the committee, that is why we have to call the Senate President’s attention to this,” a source in the Senate said. |
I think is 50-50I don't think so. Guys talk about women in every opportunity they get. Women talk about clothes, jewelries etc more than they discuss guys. |
Me ke??Babe cool down, na so e dey be. One thing is hating ibo boys, another is making sure the ibo boys know or care that you hate them. I don't think they are missing you that much in a country like Nigeria that has a pool of hot chics. I am yet to understand how someone can hate a whole tribe or race. How will you feel if those white boys write a similar thing about black chics? or when an ibo boy write same about yoruba girls? Vey soon, you'll understand that there is more to life than tribe, race or ethnicity. |
Once again, I am no feminist. I am a womanist. |
I thoought her case has been quashed by daddy. |
wonder why the butt ugly monkey looking men get the pretty chicks. the couples are like beauty and the beast.I also wonder what is so preety about that girl to deserve the fine boy. Is it because she's mulatto? Abeg that boy is handsome and would've been finer if he was female. I don't know whether some people write things here because they have a keyboard or because they must type something even if that thing is barbash. |
the same critics on here end up buying and watching the so called boring nollywood movies. One of my friends always always tells me something bad about nollywood and if it were for her, I wouldnt have started watching it but I kept asking her why she keeps ordering them and spending her money when the movie is nothing to write home at all. I was like, stop encouraging them for making that nonsense but she refused, that's how I knew that there is something else mixed up in this criticism. I left Naija long before Nollywood became a household name and that's why I'm kind of behind on them a little. I actually started watching years back because all my friends from other parts of Africa except Nigeria always have something good to say about Nollywood. One even asked me why our people don't support the only industry in Africa that seems to be working. If we can't support our home industry in Nigeria, we got a problem. Hollywood makes 100's of crappy movies every year but critics can only criticize and rate the movie but will never tell you that hollywood is bunkum because they'll not only hurt American pride but underscore the good ones they make. Thats why they rate movies. I like me some Nollywood movies, bad ones are there for sure but classy ones dey too. As for the money, i think the rate at which these people badmouthing nollywood are pirating their movies abroad , something needs to be done soon or they'll go broke because it's people that spend money to make those movies. |
Gani is not dead, although he is abroad undergoing medical treatments, but he is not dead.I think the thread should be deleted. |
I don't even know where people got the impression that yoruba women don't wear undies. |
A very wrong Analogy about Nigerian women(For sure yoruba womens own is a big lie) Yoruba First date: You take her to an Owambe Party, naturally she does not put on an under wear. You have sex with her standing behind a car in the dark end of the street. Second date: You meet her in a restaurant just ordering a plate of amala and two kpomo, she sees you and orders for salad, chicken, goat meet, turkey, etc. you go to her house and have sex. Third date: She is pregnant, but not too sure who is responsible. Ibo First date: She tells you about her being the first born of the family, and has twelve others to take care of. She eats and drinks, no sex. Second date: Her father is very sick and needs some money for urgent treatment. She shows you enough just to entice you. Third date: She has never tried it before, you are going to be the first person; however, she has two kids at home, so promise you will marry me. Hausa First date: Get drunk, eat a lot of suya meat, have sex. Second date: get drunk, eat meat, and have sex. Third date: Get drunk, have sex; lets get married Ijaw/Urhobo/Itsekiri First date: Where do you work, oil or gas company?, Good, go to club, get drunk, have sex. Second date: Pay for house rent, assist in setting up business. Play along, then off to her house, good sea food, and more sex. Third date: Informs you of one or two previous kids and then the big one; she is pregnant for you, consider marriage or my militant brothers will be after you. Cross Rivers First date: Rather you eat at home, makes good delicious Edikankon soup with lots of fishes and meat. Cleans up the house everywhere sparkling even before you are out from the gents. Serves you the food nicely, with a lot of sweet soothing words. Second date: All your cloths washed, the house swept, moped, and dusted. Water to wash up after a hard days job Food is ready before you can change from your work cloth. Sweet words of praises, and swap; have an exhausting marathon sex. Third date: Cloths washed, house clean as never before, food is ready and served as if in a restaurant, then another exhausting rounds of sex. You are the one to now ask, "will you marry me". |
Actually, not a ring, fan, i loose them, so I definately wouldnt want him to go out and buy a 5k + ring, what for? Only for it to be lost?Thank you, 10% of your type in the world will definitely reduce blood for diamond rate in Africa. |

I don't exactly feel sorry for her because the victims are equally to blame. It's like blaming a prostitute and at the same time sparing her customers. That doesnt mean that I support 419. I don't even know why they allow radio stations to play that meaningless song from a buffon like Olu maintain. He is a disgrace to the yoruba race. |
@topicYou need to learn how to eat with men with a long spoon. They are snakes! |
religion is the chief contributor of our inability to unite as one nation before tribe. That one may not happen in 200 years in Nigeria. I think that people in the south should first fight the cold religious wars between them, ethnic differences etc. Come to think of it, it's women that always broker this disunity among tribes but marrying a guy they deem fit irrespective of where he comes from. I think women can do more and by year 2045, yoruba, ibo, itsekiri differences may be a folk tale. |
this is a pathetic story ,however poverty or not, shouldn't be an excuse to do drugs.the simple truth is that some of us are rather too impatient,we have lost value and everybody seems to have join the bandwagon of getrich quick mentality. The sad truth. |
love my men to be older than me. Don't want to be robbing no cradleCool but be saving up for viagra. |
Err. . .ever heard of the phrase 'sugar-daddy'Sugar daddy is the opposite of sugar mummy and you are not known as one if you are getting married. |
"Women need a reason to cheat. Men just need a place." -Billy Crystal |
yahooze is the most stupid song ever made in Nigeria and the guy is so retarded that he thinks he's made an achievement. When we are busy fighting 419, he's busy praising it. Arsehole. |
Education, cars, marriage all go a long way in assisting us make our life on earh pleasurable.Frugal economist. You sound like you cannot spend more than $20 on an engagement ring. Do your thing bro as long as you don't go near JGIRL because she'll shoot you darts. |
