PoliticsRe: Marshal Badeh's Family Still In Mubi by otswag(m):
tit:
I thought twice before making my initial post.
But definitely the Marshal's immediate family is not based in Mubi and Vimtim.
You, is your immediate family living in your "village"?
The Marshal has family members in many parts of Nigeria. Some of them moslims, some christians.
For sure the Marshal has extended family in Mubi and surrounding areas.
Exactly. Im sure he means some members of his extended family are still in mubi. Also, the DHG was very careful with their words here. From the statement, they never confirmed nor denied that his immediate family was still in mubi. They just said no helicopter was sent to evacuate them. Who says his immediate family was ever in mubi in d ist place. If they were, who says other means haven't been used to evacuate them

Success in life isn't determined by your course of study. What education does is to broaden your horizon and opens up more opportunities for success. Its left for what u have upstairs to identify those opportunities and make good use of it.

Yea, I know. I almost cried yesternight. Let's talk about the kind of medical treatment the boy needs. Does his skull need to be reconstructed?
the skull was not damaged. Its d scalp that needs to be reconstructed by plastic surgeons most likely with a skin graft, but any present wound infection has to be cleared IST before any reconstruction is done otherwise, the procedure would most likely fail.

chrisviral:
How many men of God have you come across preaching that?
NL and lies, msheeeew
do u reside in Nigeria at all? If yes, u shouldn't be asking me that question. Have u met every existing pastor in nigeria? Stop talking like u have. I have had a personal experience with one myself and i have had patients who have been told this so its not here say.
HealthRe: Appreciating The Place Of Drugs And Medical Procedures In Handling Of Illnesses. by otswag(m):
Religion has tipped people into making bad choices that has cost many lives. We see men of God preaching that seeking medical intervention when one is ill means one has no faith in God. Unfortunately, people listen and then are rushed into the hospital when it becomes an emergency and start expecting drs to perform miracles. We see patients leaving the hosptl for a prayer house like it is not possible for them to get healed while on admission except d pastor lays his hands on them. We fail to realize that the church is a body of people under Christ, not building structures where people worship. Apart from religion, superstitious nature of Nigerians is causing more harm than good and unfortunately, Nigerians take the opinions of relatives and friends alot more seriously than what the Dr says.

temigracie:
Hmmmmm

She has done or committed a grievous offence. She is in a christian university for that matter. There are rules already against any form of pornography or any act related to it.

She is aware of those rules. She broke the rules delibrately. Why will an undergraduate twerk unclad?
and when did twerking naked in your room become pornography? Yes she was stupid to have not deleted the video immediately she recorded it but that is not a crime. More effort should have been directed at finding out who started spreading the video. This is who should have been punished not the unfortunate girl. Though, even if she wasn't expelled, I'm sure she would have withdrawn from school herself but that would have been less victimizing.
PoliticsRe: FG Withdraws Tambuwal's Security Details by otswag(m):
Seems some people have started reading the constitution with their anus. Which constitution states that a member of the minority party in the house cannot be the speaker? Its just simple. If you don't want him, vote him out. But of course they don't wanna,go down that route cos they are not up to 2/3 of the house. Them pdp members just dey throw tantrums cos dem dey vex. For crying out loud, You are members of the senate. If you can't abide by the constitution, how can we as Nigerians trust you to lead us aright. If this report is true, then, what a disappointing move by the fg. The pdp should start considering changing their name to the peoples autocratic party.

Delafruita:
do you think politics is a game for boys?a political campaign is a billion naira affair.doesn't matter how idealistic you are,you still have to campaign and campaigns take money.how much do you think TAN has spent so far in campaigning for jonathan?N2N will soon start theirs and also GSG.by the time you comebine all their expenses, you're talking billions.and that doesn't even include jonathan's direct campaign.now that's what the APC is going to contend with, can u now see why boys need to be seperated from men?every democratic political campaign requires megabucks, those who can't raise money can't be allowed to contest
point noted but my opinion still stands. Its to separate mega thieves from "semi" mega thieves

BusinessRe: FG To Spend N1 Trillion On Petrol Subsidy In 2015 by otswag(m): 7:13am On Oct 17, 2014
bushdoc9919:
Tis a lot of money....that would have been spent on a lot of things like infrastructure projects, universities, etc...

But we wanted cheap fuel (Which we REALLY can't get because we are producing less than we need for domestic consumption, but let's not get too factual here).

The honest truth is that we are importing fuel, the govt does not have money to build new refineries (and the private refineries promised are on the drawing board). Meanwhile, we are exporting less petrol than the United Arab Emirates....and for a population of 160million people(UAE has 8million).

The sad thing is that the fuel subsidy has to go. Yes, we will get high fuel prices, and I for one don't like having to pay up to N200 for a liter of fuel under the new regimen. But the sad thing is that we are pouring money that we do not have down a bottomless pit....and it is high time we stopped.

Ultimately, Nigeria has to get off oil....and become an industrial society. Maybe the oil subsidy money can be used for things like roads, railways, power, etc...that would fuel our industrail development...leading to jobs galore, and an end to unemployment.

But we Nigerians want free things. We don't want to work for our supper. The rich want their free bee money and the poor want their free fuel...Both want their slices of the oil cake...with no thought as to how the cake is baked.

Oil is a curse.
in as much as I get your point, I still vehmently disagree based on the well known fact that the money that would be saved from stopping the fuel subsidy would eventually land into the personal pockets of our corrupt leaders. Yes they claim that it would be used for d needed infrastructural debt in the country but we all know better. Eventually, we will loose at both ends; no subsidy and no improved standard of living. If they really want people to support fuel subsidy removal, they should first work on building the trust of the masses by tackling corruption down to its roots. We will be alot more receptive to change when we know d money will be channeled into the right place.
