temptnow:Believe me, thus country would have been divided a long time ago had oil been discovered in the north..... We are still chanting one Nigeria because the north knows a split will spell doom for them. Seems oil is our curse as a nation |
[quote author=greatgod2012 post=46052053]The issue of NDA is like a child who wants to get at his parents and he decides to break his hand or leg, though, the parents will be disturbed, but he too will partake of the pains.[/qu And the path this government choses to follow is like a man who is angered that a mosquito has landed on his testicles and decides to use a hammer to smash the mosquito. Forgetting that though the mosquito might die, he will also be smashing his testicles which is what defines a man |
@op, can you tell who the niger delta avengers are? Do they have a face or a spevifoc location they are? At least, Shekerau was the spokes person for BH, and sambisa is their abode. But these avengers seem not to have. Also rember that thw use the term ”niger delta”. Meaning they could be from any of the southern states like delta, rivers, bayelsa, cross rivers, or even some parts of ondo and abia. Yes, the bombings are wrong but do you that sending 4 bomb boats to one village will stop them? For all i care, the bombers could sail from cross rivers state, go amd bomb a pipeline in one community in delta state and sail back to cross rivers. When the military now come, they hold the host delta community reaponsible. The government shouodnt use military action as its first choice. Let them first hear these militamts out through negotiations amd dialogue; if that doesnt work, then..... Because truth be told, the militants have nothing to lose for the already have their illegal refineries that rake in enough money for them on a daily basis. Its the innocent lives of the host communities that will suffer, its the gallant military men who might become casualties and their grieving family they will leave behind i pity, its our eco system and all the fishes in them that will be ravaged bybthe oil spill i pity, plus we the averahe nigerian who will be affected by the dwindling economy due to loss of revenue i pity. A little dialogue can go a long way to stop the calamity that awaits this nation. God bless Nigeria God bless the president and give him all the wisdom je needs in this time of trial God bless the military that go out to the battle field to die so that we may live God touch the heart of the militants amd make them know that we have only one nigeria. |
33. Niger Delta Avengers has been blowing up pipelines for the past 2 weeks. Nigeria loses 800,000 barrels per day. Multiply that by 50 dollars and the result will baffle you. |
@OP, please try opening one of the fruits, let's the its contents to see the type of seed it has. Some people may know identify what it is then. It looks like one from it we look in the village though.... Called Utu in Enugu state |

ladyF:Smile also sells their SIM (4G) at the rate around 2500,and it comes with 2GB free. With that you don't need to buy their modem and you can enjoy fast browsing at cheap rates. But you first have to confirm if you phone is compatible to their sim |

This is one of the reasons why I am having a house help. If they are not out to snatch husbands, the molest/maltreat the kids they are supposed to take care of, invite thieves to rob and sometimes kill their guardians. Now, imagine she had a communicable disease like meningitis...... Smh |
blackpanda:Isn't it funny that the same "criminal" is our number 3 citizen? Why panic he will "act" for 3days, when he has been the "Senate President" for months? |
doctokwus:Guy, I feel your pain. But it is unfair if you heap the whole blame on Wike..... Except you have proof. When it comes to elections and politics, Rivers state has always being a violence ridden state even in the time of Odili and Rotimi Amaechi. You can claim it's Wike (PDP) killing off his opponents, another could say it's an internal scuffle within the APC camp. Whichever is the case, this is not time to lay blames, but for us to seek for solutions. Innocent lives are being lost.... Imagine the man's teenage son.... All his dreams and aspirations being taken. |
I entered the same kind of Cab in Lugbe (airport road)like 2 years ago. These peeps feed on ones greed. After spending my first 24 years growing up in Lagos, i was laughing in my mind when the taxi driver asked which of his "passengers" had that "Ghana must go" in the trunk. I was like, na same scam of the 80's you wan use scam me (nwa aba)? I had also heard stories of people who started screaming in the cab and were pushed off the car while in motion. The lucky one had bruises, while the unfortunates were ran over by on coming vehicles; All i did was to keep calm and tell them that i had money, but it was in my back pocket (cab was full, i was at the back seat with 3 other passengers). I told them that i was interested in their business, but they needed to pull over for me to get my money from my back pocket (we were squeezed up at the back seat). Immediately they parked, i showed them the "waka" sign, and the driver zoomed off. That's one reason i like using my head phones while in a cab...... you never get to listen or get tempter by their crap..... |
fem-lij:The Naming of the Days The Greeks named the days week after the sun, the moon and the five known planets, which were in turn named after the gods Ares, Hermes, Zeus, Aphrodite, and Cronus. The Greeks called the days of the week the Theon hemerai "days of the Gods". The Romans substituted their equivalent gods for the Greek gods, Mars, Mercury, Jove (Jupiter), Venus, and Saturn. (The two pantheons are very similar.) The Germanic peoples generally substituted roughly similar gods for the Roman gods, Tiu (Twia), Woden, Thor, Freya (Fria), but did not substitute Saturn. Sunday -- Sun's day Middle English sone(n)day or sun(nen)day Old English sunnandæg "day of the sun" Germanic sunnon-dagaz "day of the sun" Latin dies solis "day of the sun" Ancient Greek hemera heli(o)u, "day of the sun" Monday -- Moon's day Middle English monday or mone(n)day Old English mon(an)dæg "day of the moon" Latin dies lunae "day of the moon" Ancient Greek hemera selenes "day of the moon" Tuesday -- Tiu's day Middle English tiwesday or tewesday Old English tiwesdæg "Tiw's (Tiu's) day" Latin dies Martis "day of Mars" Ancient Greek hemera Areos "day of Ares" Tiu (Twia) is the English/Germanic god of war and the sky. He is identified with the Norse god Tyr. Mars is the Roman god of war. Ares is the Greek god of war. Wednesday -- Woden's day Middle English wodnesday, wednesday, or wednesdai Old English wodnesdæg "Woden's day" Latin dies Mercurii "day of Mercury" Ancient Greek hemera Hermu "day of Hermes" Woden is the chief Anglo-Saxon/Teutonic god. Woden is the leader of the Wild Hunt. Woden is from wod "violently insane" + -en "headship". He is identified with the Norse Odin. Mercury is the Roman god of commerce, travel, theivery, eloquence and science. He is the messenger of the other gods. Hermes is the Greek god of commerce, invention, cunning, and theft. He is the messenger and herald of the other gods. He serves as patron of travelers and rogues, and as the conductor of the dead to Hades. Thursday -- Thor's day Middle English thur(e)sday Old English thursdæg Old Norse thorsdagr "Thor's day" Old English thunresdæg "thunder's day" Latin dies Jovis "day of Jupiter" Ancient Greek hemera Dios "day of Zeus". Thor is the Norse god of thunder. He is represented as riding a chariot drawn by goats and wielding the hammer Miölnir. He is the defender of the Aesir, destined to kill and be killed by the Midgard Serpent. Jupiter (Jove) is the supreme Roman god and patron of the Roman state. He is noted for creating thunder and lightning. Zeus is Greek god of the heavens and the supreme Greek god. Friday -- Freya's day Middle English fridai Old English frigedæg "Freya's day" composed of Frige (genetive singular of Freo) + dæg "day" (most likely) or composed of Frig "Frigg" + dæg "day" (least likely) Germanic frije-dagaz "Freya's (or Frigg's) day" Latin dies Veneris "Venus's day" Ancient Greek hemera Aphrodites "day of Aphrodite" Freo is identical with freo, meaning free. It is from the Germanic frijaz meaning "beloved, belonging to the loved ones, not in bondage, free". Freya (Fria) is the Teutonic goddess of love, beauty, and fecundity (prolific procreation). She is identified with the Norse god Freya. She is leader of the Valkyries and one of the Vanir. She is confused in Germany with Frigg. Frigg (Frigga) is the Teutonic goddess of clouds, the sky, and conjugal (married) love. She is identified with Frigg, the Norse goddess of love and the heavens and the wife of Odin. She is one of the Aesir. She is confused in Germany with Freya. Venus is the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Aphrodite (Cytherea) is the Greek goddess of love and beauty. Saturday -- Saturn's day Middle English saterday Old English sæter(nes)dæg "Saturn's day" Latin dies Saturni "day of Saturn" Ancient Greek hemera Khronu "day of Cronus" Saturn is the Roman and Italic god of agriculture and the consort of Ops. He is believed to have ruled the earth during an age of happiness and virtue. Cronus (Kronos, Cronos) is the Greek god (Titan) who ruled the universe until dethroned by his son Zeus. |

I had contemplated not sharing this information online, but my conscience kept pricking and i have decided to do so. My elder sister was sent on a training in lagos (from abuja). She checked online for the cheapest air fare, and got a dana airline slot (return ticket). My story begins when she was coming back to abuja (after the training). She was to take Dana (lagos - anija, PNR No. X17BHo), flight 357 which was to leave lagos by 16.02. There was no much delay and they took off as at when due. Like 10 - 15 mins into the flight, there was an announcement from the cockpit that due to some "technical issues", they would not continue with the flight and would have to make a turn around back to lagos. There was pannic on board, and people tried to make calls or contact family members to let them know what was happening (and to also pray for safe landing). Thankfully to God, they landed safely and were evacuated from the flight and placed into another plane that was stand by. They boarded the new plane and had a safe flight down to abuja. While getting off the plane, she went to meet one of the air hostesses and to ask what the "technical issue" was, and to her amazement, she was told that the "door couldn't close". Though we are all thankful and grateful to God for taking control of the situation, i tend to ask (and am hoping that the Dana management or rep could clarify me on things)is that; if truly the plane's door did not close, why did they still take the risk of flying. Also, is there a way we customers can let the airport management on the risks these airlines are taking with human lives. I would also like readers to share any near mishap they (or friends and family) might have encountered flying. |
Please, you people should confirm stories before publishing them... this is how you end up misleading people. The Daily Currant (where you got ur story from )is an American satirical news blog that focuses on politics, technology, and entertainment. They have previously published stories like "pope Benedict comes out as gay", and "facebook begins charging to delete photos". To make things easier, google "The Daily Currant" and read more about them, or better off, read this wikipedia link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daily_Currant Finally, am pleading with you guys to please stop spreading wrong gists.... one day now, una go publish say "Obasanjo has been voted by cosmopolitan, as the the sexiest politician alive" ![]() |
