Enugu is good as well but there is no commercial market close for buying of fabrics nd other necessary things.... M just confused ooo Really don't wanna stay in aba My candid advise is that you relocate to Asaba. Yes, it is very expensive but the proximity to Onitsha will helps your business you want to venture into. |

Politics › Re: Lagos State IGR Represents 32% Of Total IGR In 2020 by OVB123: 3:54am On Apr 17, 2021 |
Deadlytruth: Per the bolded, If you can recall, that line was actually used to campaign against General Charles Airhiavbare in 2012 Edo guber election and those who tried to use it cited the tenures of Oyegun and Lucky Igbinedion to substantiate it. However some of us quickly countered that narrative by citing Ogbemudia's administration. But with the way things are going in the hands of the current incumbent, those in that school of thought might have gotten a third example for their claim while those of opposing view still have only Ogbemudia as counter example. Some of the roads he constructed in my own LGA already have so many failed portions as against Oshiomhole's own that have remained totally intact even though they are almost 4 years older and carry heavier traffic. As per the Edo Best thing: one would have expected that sequel to Oshiomhole's comprehensive renovation of nearly all the public primary and secondary schools across the state, Obaseki should have complemented those efforts by focusing on employing teachers into these schools in the last four years but till today most of the schools are being run by PTAs and Old boys and Old girls Associations in terms of teachers recruitment and payment of their salaries. This leaves one wondering what the whole essence of Edo Best actually is. Moreover he has been sponsoring vacancy adverts claiming that he is trying to bring in professional handlers and high quality teachers nto the education sector of the state as if such will not demand heavier financial burden than the normal teachers recruitment he has refused to do for more than four years now. The Benin City nightlife ceasure issue is another failure which has defined his administration since inception. Just yesterday he began to talk about fashioning out a 30 year development plan for the state. Apart from the mere rhetorics value of this, fashioning out a development plan without any cabinet to provide inputs is at best comical. In all if Obaseki really ends up not being what was bargained for, the blame will be on Oshiomhole who imposed him on the party in 2016 against all wise counsels from well-meaning Edo State stakeholders My brother let us leave everything for God and also be hopeful that before his last 4 years come to an end, he will bring different approach to his style governance. |
Politics › Re: Lagos State IGR Represents 32% Of Total IGR In 2020 by OVB123: 11:09pm On Apr 16, 2021 |
Deadlytruth: You just hit the nail very hard on the head with the bolded. There is no sense in recording lesser and lesser IGR year in year out after claiming to have purportedly blocked the godfathers, tigers and lions from access to the state's revenue. Even his cabinet members, he starves them of decent wages all in the name of cutting governance cost and curbing waste yet all these don't translate to any meaningful increase in the yearly budget. In infrastructure his projects are tokenism in nature. It is really difficult to understand how the man spends revenues and what exactly he spends it on. In his 2017 budget he set aside N4bn for the executive arm of the state government out of the N150 bn total but his political appointees kept on complaining of being paid indecent and ridiculous wages. Right now he has been running a government without a cabinet for the past six months hence not spending anything on salaries of cabinet. The whole thing about Edo State revenue and visible use of it is has been shrouded in mystery under his tenure. You are truly reading my mind. My only fear is that in Edo state now, there is already a perception that whenever a Bini man (Edo south) takes over the reigned of leadership in Edo state, the state always moved backward and I am beginning to think that way too. The early Gov. Obaseki sit up, the better for him because right now most of the roads he is constructing are substandard and may not likely stand the test of time. The Edo Best his bragging about is a total failure because most of the schools in Edo don't have enough teachers. Night life in Benin City is gone because no street lights to make the capital visible at night. The water fountain built by Oshiomhole has been destroyed by his administration. Sometimes, I wish if the Constitution will allow Oshiomhole to come back to office again and I personally vote for Him. I just pray that God helps us oooo because this is not what we bargained for. |
Politics › Re: Lagos State IGR Represents 32% Of Total IGR In 2020 by OVB123: 8:38pm On Apr 16, 2021 |
Deadlytruth: I thought I alone noticed it. It is so embarrassing to see that Edo has been consistently slipping on the IGR table since Obaseki took over. Before he came on board Edo was at position six with figures that were even threatening to displace the states on positions 4 and 5. But today it has fallen so low to position 11 with states like Anambra and Ogun now trumping it comfortably while other states currently below it are warming up to further subdue it to even lower positions in the next IGR rating to come after this. It is very disturbing a trend which makes nonsense of the purported fight against godfathers allegedly asking for state resources to be shared to them. My brother, I am just tired of him. If as at the time he took over from oshiomhole 4 and half years ago, the state IGR was around 25 to 26 billion naira, then by now after almost 5 years in office, it should be around 36 or 37 billion naira. I am so shocked because it was because of this reason that he droved the likes of Nomoreless and Kabaka away. So for me, the increased in IGR, ought to reflect in the year on year rating by NBS. The same thing we are also experience interms of infrastructures in the state. My question now is: "what is he doing with all the money, he is receiving as allocation? |

Jeux: Maybe he did something in ewato in particular but obaseki’s presence in edo central is zero, I don’t know how you got your 8, what he does is cosmetic expansion and redressing of the works done by the previous administration, no major project initiated by his administration has seen the light of the day, if he had continued the urbanization drive of Benin city by the previous administration Benin city would have been a better city now. Why 8 when there’s no major road project, no single flyover despite the increasing vehicular traffic in Benin metropolis, important adjourning roads like the temboga and ewa road are left unattended to, security is zero, if an obaseki can get 8 then how about the likes of Zulum and Umahi who in the normal sense despite their strides are not even supposed to pass 6, what little income are you talking about ? When edo receives the 8th highest federal allocation among 36 states. I would rate obaseki In fairness 3/10 U have hit the nail on d head. I don't like obaseki administration at all. |

Ogungbemi01: The edict or proposed edict as we call it here was horridly gazetted by ON Rewane and few others without consulting Itsekiri people because they have a particular person in mind that they want to make Olu of Warri. They used it to narrow the search to the particular person they had in mind and arrogated so much powers to he Rewane who was the then Ologbosere. We have reviewed the document and discovered that it is self serving and not in the interest of Itsekiri people. We have trashed the edict and that is final. Section 4 of the edict is the singular reason we trashed the edict. It is very insultive to our parent tribe. We are speaking a Yoruboid language and the said Ginuwa is from the lineage of Oramiyan. Ginuwa himself spoke Yoruboid language which shows that he is Yoruba. And you think that the best way to do it, is to sit down and according to you, trash the edict, don't you think that before that is done the Ologbotsere ought to be brief before any action(s) can be taken? |

Fast forward to 2021 nothing has change, his government seem to be the worst we have ever see since the administration of His brother Major General Sani Abacha (1993 - 1998).
