abduleez1:Braahhh...I hear say WB don collect all IMAX screen from "Avengers: Doomsday (2026)" hand come opening weekend...🙌🏿🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️ |
abduleez1:Salaam Brother.... Where you see "Wuthering Heights" |
Chibudollar:This logic doesn't really track. Owen Cooper was 15 when he won the Emmys over established and ilder actors like Javier Bardem in the same category. Artistic awards like this, is to reward the art, not how old or young the artiste is. |
There might be no adjective to describe how unprecedentedly so back we are!!!!.... 😩😩😩

"The Oscars (2026)" “Yet again, this is a celebration of the ‘current thing’ and not necessarily artistic brilliance." I saw about 95% of the films nominated in the major categories this year, so my take, objectively, is as follows. Best Actor. In hindsight, I think Michael B. Jordan had the worst performance of the nominees. “Worst” in the sense that it wasn’t a bad performance, good enough for a casual pat on the back, but never, never, Oscar-worthy. Again, I firmly believe the events of the past three weeks played a huge role here, especially what happened at the BAFTA Awards and the Timothée Chalamet situation. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but sometimes a Black man is handed a seat at the high table, not necessarily because he deserves it, but because the white man at the door isn’t letting other Black men into the hall. So if those outside know one of them is sitting at the high table, they won’t be as vexed, even though they’re still outside. That’s the best analogy I can give. Timothée Chalamet, for what it’s worth, had a far more superior and memorable performance. His case reminds me of Leonardo DiCaprio, after years and years of timeless performances and being sidelined, he finally got it. Timothée is still in his prime, and if he keeps knocking, his time will come. Congrats to MBJ, though. As a cinephile, I know what my eyes saw. But as a Black man myself, we don’t get to be here often, so sympathy win or not, we’ll take these wins anyway. 👀👀 Best Actress. Jessie Buckley had the best female lead performance in the year under review, full stop. A deserved win. Best Supporting Actor. Again, the Oscars seem to be going for the “current thing” rather than actual acting delivery. Stellan Skarsgård had the best supporting actor performance last year, in my opinion. Instead, the person they gave it to couldn’t even be bothered to come to the awards and preferred chain-smoking on his balcony. A total farce!. Best Cinematography. I was rooting for Train Dreams (2025), but Sinners (2025) might have had a dodgy storyline but what I cannot deny, and the first thing you notice when you hit play, is how beautiful it is to look at. A deserved win. Best Score. Again, Ludwig Göransson just needs to keep working with Ryan Coogler and Christopher Nolan all his life and his house will be full of Oscars. He’s winning that of 2027 also, by the way, with The Odyssey (2026), just so you know 😩😩. Best Animated Feature. Of course… "KPop Demon Hunters" (2025). As a proud “Hunter,” this award came as no surprise, so we would like to thank the Academy ☺️. Best Picture. I have never seen a movie present a serious, current political commentary problem and add absolutely nothing of value to the discourse. So if the Academy says One Battle After Another is Best Picture quality, no wahala. I mean, they gave "Anora" (2024), Best Picture last year, so the credibility of this category hasn’t been this far in the gutter since Oppenheimer deservedly won it in 2024. Best International Feature. A superior category. Clear proof that far better movies exist outside Hollywood. I loved all the films on this list, and Sentimental Value winning is a plus for them all. Anyway, as a cinephile, don’t let the Oscars define your movie choices or experiences. The awards have become too politicized, as with many facets of life currently. Far better films exist than these guys will let you know. 4/10

Adasun:Basically anywhere you normally |
abduleez1:Omoo...The Jessie Buckley's performance was a tad above hers tbh, it was just too exquisite and i think it's the clear favourite for it, but both excellent in their own rights. Great film. For male actors, yeah, Stellan Skaarsgard can get it. Exquisite performance. These two films have produced some of the best performances of the year, and I hope they win big not the pandering duo they want to serve us with.Stellan Skaarsgård mannn, all he knows how to do is, birth a buttload of kids and act his heart out!!...gave me timless performances last year with Andor and this and should win his cate with ease. Isn't this Renate Reinsve that caused brouhaha two or three years ago at the Oscars because she came in from nowhere and got a nomination? With peeps being angered she was favoured by nepotism cos during the campaigns her name never even came up once until the final week.I think this her first Oscar nomination tho, This director is like her favourite, and this is their third film together. Bugonia up next.
Bugonia is typical Yorgos Lanthimos weird archy-type flick and he seems to be getting it right with Emma Stone, This was much better than their last flick together. On the subject of the Oscars tonight....Bro...what the actual fkkk?? 😩...Are we really about to let "Sinners" (2025) become the most awarded film in one night at the Oscars?!...Like this movie was bare bottom, just about good enough for casual watch, but the unprecedented hype is what I don't get. They ran a wicked agenda on boy Timothee Chalamet for the past 2 weeks or so, and it seems to have taken hold 😭... Someone was telling me Michael B Jordan deserves best actor, because he played 2 characters?!...like wtf? are we being serious here??! 😩 |
What Happened to Monday (2017).. There are some movies you see, and you'd just know you have seen something generational....and this is one of those!. A crazy concept....A crazy storyline and even crazier execution by Noomi Rapace...her rent was due, or should i say their rent was due 😩😩. An all timer Netflix original 🙌🏿

abduleez1:"Everyone's Mad at dad, uh?". First off, "Sentimental Value" is such a cool cool name for a film!. Secondly, This was perhaps, one of my best watch of 2025, if not the best... I'd always thought Gustav was selfish, using the guise of "pursuing his craft", to leave his family but at the end of it, all, i could see he was dealing with some deep seated unresolved emotional trauma, that came with that "damn house ", so he wasn't just leaving his family, he wanted to get away from the house... The house really was the "Sentimental Value" because of all the memory, loss, guilt and family history it held. Stellan Skarsgård as Gustav Borg, was such a gem performance, and should rightly get that Oscar tomorrow. Renate Reinsve getting best actress is such a tough ask, because Jess Buckley and Emma Stone did absolutely madness in Hamlet (2025) and Bugonia (2025) respectively, but i am rooting for her still. Top shelf film this 👍🏿 |
Attack on Titan (2013 - 2023) S1 & S2 “The world is cruel, but also beautiful…” I randomly had the urge to see this about two weeks back, and most importantly I’m watching it without the pressures and anticipation of a weekly release, and I found myself enjoying it even more. I’m only just realizing how masterfully the shift in tone from S1 to S2 was done. S1 was basically high-octane action moving at full speed, while S2 descends into something more labyrinthine and warped, becoming far more character driven. S1 was essentially “How do we survive?” S2 becomes “Who are we even surviving against?” Simply put, S1 was Man vs Titan, while S2 slowly turns into Man vs Man!. I’m hoping my schedule lets me get through S3 and S4 before the month ends… but I can’t state this enough....This is a serious, serious show!. Like… wtf!. Basically anime gold standard 👍🏿✨ 9/10

Achilles100:You didn't see "The Mummy" (1999)? |
"Scrubs" (2026) "The Fun Life we used to know might be gone and gone for good". It's no secret that "Scrubs" (2001 - 2009) is my fave sitcom ever, so much so, i always look forward to my yearly re-runs of it. So imagine my excitement when i first heard of a revival, but, my excitement quickly turned to doubt, doubt because i wonder if it will even fit in with the times we are in... True to form, after seeing the first 2 episodes, i am not sure this should have been made, first off, all my fave characters are now "old" and their hearts are like a quarter into this thing, it clearly looks like, they couldn't land roles elsewhere, and this is like a last meal ticket, before their careers twirls off into abyss..but that's not even my biggest issue. My issue is that, in a world where representation matters more than any it , even to the detriment of the art, this revival takes a huge bite off it. In the first 2 episodes alone, all races are represented, their is an asian guy who supposedly swings both ways, their is a black guy who is seemly a queen, there is a med student who is content creator and sells dirty feet pics apparently...maaan, this is over representation, to a bland and cringe point, that i don't even know what am even watching anymore!. It makes me think, like 80% of sitcoms that aired before the world descended into this madness wouldn't have aired today, and the pilots killed off in board rooms because they didn't fit with the times, a very silly times that is. Oh maanm early teens and Pre teens are having the worst version of history, their time saw the world almost get wiped out by a pandemic, WWWIII looked inches away each passing day and on top of that, they probably have the worst set of media in history; movies, shows, music!...the entire lot...just total garbage! Anyway, i will soldier on with this, because just seeing these faces albeit grey and old now, reminds me of happier times, and i desperately need that, now more than ever, with the world this mad, currently |
Lana1:There isn't an obvious archy-type one season show than the first season. It's just like what the Fast and the Furious Franchise were doing beyond part 4, and what Fx is about to do to "Shōgun". The latter and "Hijack" were clearly built on the premise of a limited series, but they were well received and they thought they could ride on that wave, and spin it further than required....like sometimes, just let things end, no matter how good Rare L for Apple Tv 😩 |
pu7pl3: Beorn:I don't know of other African countries, but it was quite popular here to tbf, but the model was not sustainable since like 70% of it's content is also available on DSTV, of which that, had a VOD kinda app to, directly competing with this. Anyways, there has been a piracy or anti-piracy discuss going on, on X all week. I for one try to pay for art and media services as much as i can, but "Showmax" was literally my front row seat to "HBO Library" , it's the only reason i bother with them in the first place,so with them leaving, i should stop seeing HBO shows altogether or wait till Canal+ strikes up another deal however long it takes, if i don't want to be a pirate? I think TF not!! 😩😩 |
Xavier5:lol This is a tad too long for a teaser imo, basically a trailer 😩😩 |
Got this mail this morning, abi na spam?? fgsss 😩😩

armadeo:skip season 2. |
"Sauron, the enemy of the free peoples of Middle-earth, was defeated…" Random thoughts on recent events in the international space, religion, movies, tech, and the world seeming ever closer to WWIII. I cannot pretend to be versed in the legality of toppling the leader of a sovereign nation through what is essentially a cold-blooded assassination. But Ali Hosseini Khamenei was, to say the very least, a two-faced man. On paper and in his teachings, he presented himself as kind, poetry-loving, and even a champion of women’s rights. In reality, however, he led a brutal totalitarian regime under the guise of practicing a pure form of Islam ,one that sought only to enslave its people. The dancing in Tehran overnight, as news of his demise began to filter in, tells the real story. I have invested in Iranian cinema 💚for years, and their films often seemed to revolve around one recurring theme, the brutality of the toppled regime. So much so that some Iranian filmmakers had to flee the country just to have their stories heard and to not get executed whilst at it!. “You are not truly hidden, no one is actually looking for you…” Khamenei thought he was untouchable, hidden behind a façade for years , which was true, for as long as Israel and “Uncle Sam” allowed it to be. Iran had been given various opportunities to come to the table and negotiate, but like their Persian ancestors before them, they remained stubborn and headstrong. And if there is any agency you do not want coming after you, it is the Mossad, they almost always accomplish the tasks they set out to do. The next worst agency to have on your trail, after the Mossad, is the CIA. So the two combining for such a mission would have meant Khamenei stood zero chance. The CIA had reportedly been collecting intelligence for weeks on his movements and passed it on to the Mossad late Friday night. They got him during the holiest month of the Islamic calendar, poetic!, if you ask me. The rest was history. All the high-stakes espionage we see in movies might just be the tip of the iceberg. I firmly believe these agencies are capable of far more!. It brings me to the realization that warfare has moved beyond garrisons and battalions and has become fully technological. Artificial intelligence is powering it all. The precision of this mission points to that reality. Claude and the U.S. military have reportedly been working together for months, and their public feud last Friday was allegedly because Claude “felt some type of way” about how its LLM was used in capturing the Venezuelan president earlier this year. So the age where AI takes over every facet of our lives is well and truly here. Gemini basically knows everything I did last week because it has access to my emails, maps, and even my planner. It reminds me of the movie Eagle Eye (2008). Forget what, Whatsapp says, no communication is ever truly "end to end encrypted"! Anyway, Khamenei probably deserved what came to him, and it will send a clear message. I just hope this does not plunge the Middle East, and the world into regional chaos, because today’s leaders possess immense technological capabilities and seem, at times, itching ... itching...for a world war....✍🏿

The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025). I just want this war to end, so i can go to the sea and play with the sand...Hind Rajab I chased down this movie for months, and i sincerely wished i didn't, because it was just too heartbreaking to stomach 😩😩. This is the best intentional film of the last year btw, only if the Academy has the ⚽⚽.

The Secret Agent (aka O Agente Secreto) (2025) "I'm not a violent person. But this guy… I would kill him with a hammer. I'd smash his whole head with a hammer…" — Armando (Marcelo) The title is so deceptive. You see it and think, “high-stakes espionage flick,” but it’s far from that. As the film unfolds, tho, the title gradually begins to make sense. Armando (Marcelo), a technology professor trying to flee the Brazilian totalitarian regime of the 1970s, seeks refuge in a communist safe house in Recife. Living under false identities and navigating a world of informants and state-sponsored surveillance, he exists almost like a spy… almost like a secret agent!..... The film is genre-bending, but I’d lean toward calling it satirical political commentary with a hint of surrealism. There are some bizarre scenes, like a severed leg hopping about and the non-linear structure adds ambiguity. Still, the story is quite easy to grasp if you stick with it. Wagner Moura is such a gem of an actor. At this point, he is more Pablo Escobar than Pablo Escobar!, that’s how deeply people associate him with the role, because of how brilliantly he delivered that performance. Here, he gives a more subtle and controlled performance that quietly creeps up on you once the narrative lands. Do I think he deserves the Oscar? No. especially not after what Timothée Chalamet pulled off in Marty Supreme (2025). But if either of them wins, I’d honestly be fine with it. A fine watch for me, but a difficult… difficult recommend. It’s too niche, and the bloated runtime makes it a heavy chew. Still, this is my second film about the Brazilian totalitarian regime of the 1970s after "I’m Still Here (2024)". Loved that. Loved this. And I yearn for more 🤲🏿 7/10

abduleez1:Returning for Season 2? I thought Season 2 aired something this year or late last year?? |
GloriousGbola:I know all about the Mann's Act and that's what they got Diddy on, and i quite understand the context. But the part i had an issue with, was the naunced support, where he basically said he found it difficult to be mad at Diddy, despite the allegations, because he did him a solid years ago...You can still be mad at your friend and hold him accountable, if he does some shady shii..No?. Anyways this wasn't his finest work and i could see why it was poorly received. |
DieRich5:In a world were "Pluribus" (2025) exists!, I'd like to think, AKOTS(N)K is rightly hyped!. The show doesnt over promise and under deliver, didn't dabble into all the performative nonsense, that shows these days seems so eager to focus on than the actual narrative. HOTD for all it's perceived good S1, has many people tired now, with almost zero likable characters, that you can't differentiate the antagonist from protagonist , and the general wish is for all of them to burn and we all know how GOT ended..... You were probably looking for spontaneity and all the scheming that the lore is used to, and this part of the lore isn't the place for that. It's just a simple slice of life show, that achieved what it sets out to do, and perhaps that's the draw and huge appeal.... |
Dave Chappelle: The Unstoppable (2025). Ego-trip Dave Chappelle might be no fun! He is arguably one of the most successful comedians in recent times, and that stupendous deal with Netflix a few years back meant he only had to perform one special once in a while and drag home heavy bags of dough. His stand-up since then has often felt like him bragging about how rich he is, but there were genuinely good jokes in there that made it worth my while. The Unstoppable (2025) has him going on an egotistical rant and almost self-loathing spiral, defending his performance in Saudi Arabia under the thin guise that if people can support Israel, he too can help a nation with one of the worst human rights records in history clean up its image, if it means a massive payday. There was even a rant where he defended P.Diddy, and I struggled to see the joke in all of it. I can’t blame him entirely, though. I sometimes think it’s incredibly difficult to tell jokes these days!. In a world where you have to be politically, socially, culturally, and religiously correct all the time, there seems to be very little left to joke about, because you’re always at risk of being on the wrong side. In a world where the word “fat” is considered offensive, and “little person” is the more appropriate term for someone with dwarfism, maybe the safest thing to do is simply stay quiet. Still, My draw to him years back, was that he didn't care about these rules, didn't pick sides and joked about everything!. Dave Chappelle is probably my favourite stand-up comic ever, and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be interested the next time he picks up a mic. But after watching this special, I can’t help but wonder if he might be running out of jokes.🤔

Lana1:Brooo...with all the our knowledge of medicine and tech, it is so sad that some diseases are still beyond our comprehension. Some would like to think, Cancer is in the top of the food chain of despicable diseases, but it's actually not, at least it has a known cure if detected early. Eric Dane had ALS!, A far worst predicament than Cancer, has no known cause or cure, creeps up suddenly, the brain basically disconnects from the body and said body, basically forgets how to speak, walk or even breathe!, the person lays basically entombed, in his or her body, begging for death, because even as grim as that prospect sounds, is a sweet sweet relief, than the hell, ALS brings 😩. Praying and Hoping, that there is a future where these diseases are preventable and curable 😞. |
aieromon:Ordered something on February 6th and got delivered on 20th February... basically 14 days... Speedaf can be so efficient if they want to. |
abduleez1:If I see a 10/10 rating sef, i won't take it seriously, because objectively speaking, i don't think there can be a flawless episode, so it's definitely artificial. Personally "Ozymandias" doesn't touch ""All the Bells Says"" and "Connor's Wedding" from Succession (S310, S4E3), "Fishes" from "The Bear"(S2E7), and "Hardhome" from GOT (S5E9). I'd like to think, it's core BB fans that make other people think the show was probably overrated and i dare add, if it airs today, it would struggle 👀 |
I watched this and it broke me ngl...😔 I hate just how much illness.... death steals from us...steals our joy... steals our light...steals everything! 😔 . I hated his character in "Euphoria" , but a good hate i might add, a despicable character, but he was playing it all too well, a testament to just how good of an actor he was. The light might have gone out from Eric Dane, but the sheer will to even do this knowing he was facing a certain end in just a matter of days, is a most beautiful and courageous thing to do...Rest easy champ! 😔🕊️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEMpdwdVpng |
“Losing doesn’t even enter my consciousness.”...Marty Supreme. I might have had issues with the tonal discrepancies and the anticlimactic wave of the script, but my reputation as a cinephile should be called into question if I fail to praise the all-timer performance Timothée Chalamet pulled off as Marty Scouser, a.k.a. Marty Supreme. There’s a quote I once read that has stuck with me, it goes “I came into this world alone, I will leave alone. If I don’t help myself, I will wither.” Marty Supreme typifies that quote to the max. His uncle offered him a cushy shoe manager’s job, but Marty knew his dream was bigger than the job, bigger than his uncle, his mom...even bigger than the entire town!. It felt like he was in a race against time!. The palpable rush to make it was visible throughout. The beginning of each scene almost felt like it came too late... like Marty should already be in the next one, hustling, creating chaos. After all, as Petyr Baelish said in Game of Thrones, “Chaos is a ladder.” Marty Supreme was hoping enough chaos would carry him to his dream. Nothing ...not even a pregnancy scare or a damsel in distress...could deter him. We are not all dealt the same cards in life. And if you’re dealt an unfavourable hand but still want to live a favourable life, then you’d understand Marty’s rush. "This town, these people have nothing for me. I have to get out". That was peak character writing.✨🎉 I’m yet to see “The Secret Agent” (2025), but Brother Wagner, I’m sorry 😩, I might have already seen the best male lead performance in a motion picture in the last year. I’m queuing my support right behind him. And should that moment ever come if they ask, is Timothée Chalamet truly “him”?he is Lisan al-Gaib!, he is Marty Supreme!, and without any iota of doubt… he is totally HIM.!

phr0nesis:Bruhhhh....there isn't a bigger tease in Tv serial space currently than this show....if it isn't crunch time, this season...make them keep abeg |
