phr0nesis:Bruhhhh....there isn't a bigger tease in Tv serial space currently than this show....if it isn't crunch time, this season...make them keep abeg |
abduleez1:Random thought 🤔💭....If you are seeing a media in a foreign language, how can you tell the subtitles ain't matching up? 😩😂 |
abduleez1:Bro, Do you know if Showmax still houses HBO Library? |
phr0nesis: It falls just below the hype imo!.... You could almost feel, it is supposed to be something more, it should be something more but it couldn't just hit. You could clearly see the Safdie brothers trying to infuse their "spontaneous" fast paced style, which worked so well with "Good Time (2017)" and "Uncut Gems" (2019), worked well in those because they had proper carthasis, but by the end of this, i was left wondering, what was even the point? or the hype had me blindly thinking, this was gonna be an all timer, where in reality it was just as generic as they come. Timothée Chalamet performance was good tho but it isn't just enough to sit through this again, for another 2hr 30mins, knowing there is little or no reward at the end. |
"Marty Supreme (2025)" "hmmmmmm" 🤔

Industry (2020) S4 EP06 "These freaky rabbits could almost smell greatness, if only they can keep their horniness in check!." I have followed this show from S1, when it seems the characters were way more than the story needed, and since then, they have gone on a generation character development arc, to hone in, on a few characters and S4 has just been top shelf premium tv so far. The financial jargons and horniness, has remained constant, and the latter seem to be their undoing... Jon Snow's purpose might have been to unite Westoros against them White Walkers but those days are well and truly behind Kit Harrington now, he is a certified freak here that i am not even sure of his orientation, paired with Yasmin, who is like the freakiest bird, since S1 and it looks like it is a recipe for disaster.... And my man Eric Tao, might be the most experienced investment banker in the entire show, and i really thought he struck gold with that partnership with Harper, but his Insatiable libido has proven a stumbling block... seeing him go out like that, broke me 😩. Episode 6 was such high stakes quality TV and i was clapping at the end, so sad it is just 2 episodes left till the season wraps 😩😩.

Rental family (2025). "Sometimes all we need is for someone to look us in the eye and tell us, we exist." Japanese cinema has proven time again that the slice of life genre is their strong forte, and this is a genuinely pleasant entry. Brendan Fraser plays a failing actor, desperate to take just about acting gig, drifting through Tokyo, finally caught life with a "rental family", renting himself out to stand in for absences, father, husband, presence...At first, it feels absurd, almost gentle in its oddness. Then the film settles into something more unsettling, how easily performance turns into sincerity, and how badly people want to be seen. In modern Japan, declining population has meant people are more lonelier and desperate to just be seen, be heard and be loved, and the film handles this reality perfectly, portraying emotional connection as something scarce, fragile and "outsourcing" a father, a husband or a friend isn't a far fetched idea...it feels painfully plausible. There is this cannon of an actor's career i like, Popular in their earlier years, take a dip, and years later totally reinvent themselves and drop gem performances in indie flicks. Brendan Fraser and Nicolas Cage are in that mold. Brendan carries this, he has already bagged an oscar, so he need not over go over board...he doesn't. This was a gem performance from him, even though he was just pretending to be whatever people wanted him to be, you could see genuine care and affection anytime the camera pans to him. A niche film and yet an easy recommend, if you like "Perfect Days" (2023), then this should be right up your alley. 8/10.

abduleez1:HBO shows are basically my weekly drivers now, "The Pitt", "Industry" and "AKOTSK" airing is why i even bother with tv serial lately. HBO making TV shows??....A fantastic concept since time immemorial...oh they gonna bag Emmys for this generation run they are currently in 😩 |
Give this young lad an Emmy btw!🙌🏿🌟🥇

Lana1:True to your words maan, they really up the tempo. Quite uncanny, that for a medical show, they rarely get to deal with the passing of a patient, they did it exceptionally well in Episode 6, a really really profound moment. This is such a top shelf show still 👍🏿. |
Lana1:Really? I think there is a tad drop in quality and intensity, episode 3 was a bore but overall so far, still a good watch though but matching the highs of S1 was always going to be a tough ask. |
BlackManta:If the video you posted was an example of the model, then to the "untrained eyes" it still looks legit, but i am seeing all the signs of an AI generated slop video. Besides the point. I hate how these advanced LLMs are available to just about any rando, using it to generate trivial slops like Kobe and MJ fighting and speaking fking Chinese. I am actually in favour of putting this sophisticated LLMs on a serious serious gatekeep beyond a huge paywall, because every idiot can have loads of money bag and jump the highest paywall just to generate slops. These models should exists within actual creative spaces, who know exactly what to do with it. But then again, AI companies are driven by the greatest capitalism ever known to man 😩, they need loads of money to keep these AI running, Even chips for PCs, Consoles and even Phones are become limited because of this AI craze, so they willing to hand their sophisticated models to every idiot with heavy bags... and A future where everyone second guesses every picture, video, music or art, if it's AI generated or not, doesn't bode well 😞 |
abduleez1:Swamp thing? Na so so idea full this brother head, execution na another thing fgss |
Mirasteel:The Zionism aside lol, she is just really terrible at acting, like the basics she no sabi fgs 😩😂...Her physique was largely part of why she was casted in that WW role tbf. |
pu7pl3:The concept of an Anaconda movie in big 2025 uno 🙂...How couldn't you smell the gimmick big dawg? They couldn't fool me, i could preceive the stench of that slop from miles away 😩
|
abduleez1:I don see that Zootopia 2 since o, but for some reason i no just dey moved...be like money grabbing scheme 😮💨. Where you see Siràt abeg, cuz i do check my usual links, e no dey there? 😩🤲🏿🤲🏿 |
abduleez1:lol okay we dey wait 😂 |
abduleez1:The critical reviews for this has been so nastyyy...what the actual hell?! 😩😩....Talk to me bro, which kain potty your babes Margot Robbie amd Emerald Fennell, don cook? 😮💨😮💨 |
[quote author=abduleez1 post=138416568] Don't know why I dodged this in its heydays when I actually watched and pretty enjoyed similar cartel shows like the mexican telenovela The Cartel. I guess it quickly got so big there was spin-offs, and felt it was too late to join cos of the multiple seasons to chew through.Omoo same o....it became so popular one time but i no indulge, but saw Narcos: Mexico when that one came out...good show good show So this Wagner Moura na don for years now? Seeing his high praise for his performance in Brazil's nominee The Secret Agent. Also one of my must see International flicks this year.Na this Pablo Escobar role bring am to limelight, there is even a popular meme from the show of him.. I copped that "The Secret Agent" last week, will get around to it soon. |
abduleez1:lol wentin Sydney Sweeney dey do nah, na Alexandra Daddario be pioneer .... True Detective S1 E2, Woody Harrelson see fresh bwess for him front, baba shock 😩😂.I guess casting agents clocked that she has nothing to offer beyond that, hence the limited role...Gal Gadot own even worse na, as them don tag her as Zionist. |
abduleez1:I mainly do motion graphics and animations that sometimes interlope with Video Editing, so After Effects is what i used for that. Braah, i got offered Adobe 2026 suite this morning and i didn't even want it!. Adobe are aggressively demanding more from PCs these days. So if your PC isn't running Intel core i7 and later or Apple M1 Chip or later, with at least 16GB of RAM, na so so struggle you go dey struggle fa , if you like make you dey update Graphics card everyday!😩😩. |
Narcos S1 - S3. (2015-2017) "*Next, I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the coc*ine back in!!- Elon Musk 28/4/2022."" I was researching drug cartels focusing on the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel and Sinaloa Cartel then i remembered I had this in library, i locked in for 3 days, and it was some of the best 72 hours spent. Mind you, i have seen Narcos: Mexico (2018) which i liked, so i just had to indulge in the precursor. There isn't a more charismatic, perhaps more determined drug dealer in history, than Pablo Escobar, and this show did excellent justice to the character. I would like to see the show in 2 parts. Part 1. This part covered S1 and S2, exploring the rise of Don Pablo, as a small time smuggler, then he discovered white powder, and it changed his life forever. Within a short while, he became arguably the richest criminal in history, influence so great that anyone sniffing at that time, was probably sniffing Don Pablo's product. He had so much money and influence, that almost everybody in Colombia was on his payroll, the few who could resist, swiftly got a bullet, he coined the term "silver or lead". Wagner Moura as Don Pablo was such a picture perfect casting, the physical resemblance wasn't all that uncanny but he carried the same chrisma and charm..just a top shelf performance. Part 2. S3.After the DEA and the Colombian govt toppled Don Pablo, i was wondering where exactly they where headed with it. Then again, Don Pablo, was so narcissistic, he didn't leave a successor, and the Cali Cartel swiftly filled the void and S3 was about their rise and fall. Started slowly, but episode 5 to 10 was some high octane edge of your seat stuff that if i put my feelings into words, i might actually get a ban! As an opening credits aficionado, this one has an unskippable one. stills and reels from the actual event with Rodrigo Amarante's "Tuyo" playing was always a delight before each new episode. There is a reason why drug cartel wars may never end, because I don't think the demand for drugs will ever end. Apart from degenerates and addicts, some of your fave people, need drugs to actually function, till, if they are not careful, they eventually become addicts, worse still degenerates themselves... it's a vicious circle. The reward for doping, comes directly from the brain's pleasure center, that's why it's difficult to stop, The high, has been akin to nutting, albeit that the reward for nutting last just seconds, but people can be doped out for days from a single session. Anyway, this is a proper proper show and an easy recommend 8/10.

abduleez1:You do Video editing? Broooo...it seems Adobe suite is getting harder and harder to use on newer machines. Trying to render a 58 secs from After Effects this morning, with little animations and 3D camera movements took like 3 hours 😩. The way Adobe really do not give af about older machines maan. |
abduleez1:Alexandra Daddario! my babe 🤗😂😂....I fit bet say i sabi act pass that babe 😩, na just beauty, mammary glands and vibes she just dey use run this Hollywood P....i no even know when she act last 😂. See you have a point bro... Syndey Sweeney can't actually be talentless and still get these number of bookings. Her strategy is not new and it seems to be working for her, so make she carry go. |
abduleez1:I'd be lying if I said i wanted to see the movie for any other reason than the obvious 🤭... Adaptation una...we all know what we came here to do, so gbewà 🤲🏿🤤
|
pu7pl3:I am speaking from the POV of not seeing this particular movie but bro, i think her and her agent brought this perceived stereotype. She really can act if she wants to, but like 80% of her roles so far, it seems she is comfortable with screen writers making her obviously gorgeous milkers, a point of reference, and you can't blame folks, if they can't see past that. Besides the point, be real with me bro...is this your shalayè valid? Does said "milkers" really do get small screentime in the movie? because it might genuinely be the only reason i copped it, because me sitting to see a movie headline by her and fking Amanda Seyfried in big 2026, is nasty work without those obvious perks 👀😩 |
Baddestguyp:I saw them giant milkers on full display in "The Voyeurs" way back in 2021, and i instantly figured out, this babe has no business riding on talent to the top, and she was confident dem milkers, were gonna take her places, and so here we are. I am not even judging tbf, all for this body positivity movement 👍🏿 |
abduleez1:lol i have actually seen almost all the ones i need to see except for 2 on the best international feature list, "The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025) and Sirãt (2025). You know how difficult it is to get your hands on these flicks, when you live in these parts 😩...then Marty Supreme (2025), which for some reason, i am not really sold on or anticipating, the VOD release shouldn't be far off. I was so glad when I saw Wicked For Good totally ignored. And that blue skin generic skin Avatar getting the unimportant nom was a soothing balm.lol Saw Wicked part 1 and i knew this movie wasn't for me, glad the gimmick didn't work this time 🤭 and lol James Cameron isn't making that blue generic skin movie for Oscar validation, that much is clear now, man just want that all timer box office record fgs 😩 Pray tell, what's the pandering movies? One Battle After Another & possibly Sinners?lol Perhaps i might have judged "Sinners" (2025) too harshly, the storyline dodgy as hell, but i simply cannot deny the brilliant technical filmmaking they cooked, i think it is the most nominated movie in the Oscars history, so it will be so weird if it doesn't get one at least, but you see that "One Battle After Another" (2025), if it only has one hater, that hater is proudly me 😩...The movie did absolutely nothing for me, rode on the biggest Anti-MAGA propaganda whilst having no substantial core. All things considered, it might actually get best picture, but it is my "Emilia Perez" (2024) for this year's Oscar...and i am a very patient patient hater ✊🏿 |
abduleez1:Omoo... It's usually like that for indie movies..I have been following it's development, screened at smaller film festivals last year, distros where skeptical to go near it, till Netflix showed up, and blew up, promotion for it... except it's my IG reels algorithm thingy, but i have been seen promo for it, even before the Oscar list. It's a genuinely good film and rightly deserves all the oscar shouts. |
Train Dreams (2025). "It feels like the sadness would just eat me alive" I was so swamped with family activities during the yuletide that i didn't have the time to dig into my end of year playlist, but I locked in, since the turn of the year, and saw some really really incredible motion pictures and this was just the top of the cream. A Logger at the very end of the 20th century goes through time, joy, grief, loss and trying to find meaning and purpose to this thing called "Life". Joel Edgerton is built for roles like this. Longing for the warmth of family is his bread and butter...i have seen him play this exact part in Loving (2016) and the Apple Tv show Dark Matter (2024) and he perfectly nailed it, in all three..I mean, you could see his pain, you almost feel this guilt in your core, like how can a man's life be this devoid of light?. He narrowly missed the norm for best actor at the Oscars but the 6 other nominations for the film, tells you, this is a top shelf film...i mean it's up for Best Picture...it doesn't get better than that The cinematography is absolutely breathtaking, makes it the more harder to look away, makes for a beautiful, tragic, devastating watch. Films like this are the reason why i even bother to still be an ardent cinephile. It stuck with me for days after seeing it. I was pleasantly surprised Netflix was able to snap up the distribution rights of this, despite all the stick i give them, they occasionally snap up indie gems like this, reminds me of when they gave me Private Life (2018) and Marriage Story (2019). This is a top tier film and i will be rooting for it at the oscars, along with my other babies. 8/10.

abduleez1:Sentimental Value (2025) is a really good one. I was impressed by the Oscar list this year, apart from one or 2 pandering ragebaity norms, the list is fine for the most parts, and i have so many faves in there. |
