I was surprised during NYSC seeing some of our supposedly Igbo corps members telling me that they aren't Igbos and one lady called Sandra was very mean to another 'igbo' lady called Mercy.

A dialect of Igbo (just as in other languages) is not easy to define because languages are often in spectra.

Some will tell you that their language is similar but not the same as Igbos.
If you go to Delta State, you will see some communities that speak languages that are similar to Igbo language but as you move westwards, the similarities with Igbo reduce gradually

Many of the problems facing Africa can be mitigated by peaceful redrawing of our colonial boundaries that will see exchange of territories between countries to promote greater homogeneity.


For instance, the Baribas in Kwara State can be ceded to Benin Republic to Join their kit and kins where they hold greater powers and prospects. The Yoruba in Benin Republic should be ceded to Nigeria.

Adamawa State and Ejaghem of Akwa-Ibom should rejoin Cameroon, Bakassi should rejoin Nigeria etc

2) In Delta State , a local government that's NOT having boundaries with the Anambra State vote for Biafra, are you going to jump over other LGAs to claim this lone LGA.

3) Will non-igbo Indigenes/residents also vote? In Etche LGA, how do you differentiate Ekpeye, Ijaws, Ogoni and Ikwerres living in the LGA?

4) If being Igbos is the criterion for voting in the referendum, how do you justify the insistence of the agitators that the referendum must also hold in Warri, Obudu, Ikot Abasi or Yenegoa which are non-igbo territories?

You're very foolish. It's always better to shut up if you don't have enough information on a subject matter. That is, if you're not deliberately being cynical about the issue. There are indigenous Igbos in all the SS states and we MUST go with them. It is not Gowon that will tell us where our land ends. 2) Apart from old political divisions in terms of kingdoms, there's no difference between an Ijebu man and an Ibadan man (many Ibadan families originated from Oyo, Ife, Ijebu) but a Kanuri man is much different in culture and language from a Fulanis man.
Kanuris don't understand Fulanis language and both can only communicate freely by using a third learned language- Hausa which serve as a kind of lingual Franca in the North.

I was surprised while serving in Yobe State to see many Fulani Herdsmen unable to speak Hausa fluently.
