Sir, I guess you have been around enough to know that in life, especially in political life, most times all things don't remain the same. dokie: We are not talking spiritual at the moment. If we were, we shouldn't even be talking about 2023 in the first place.
We are simply analysing issues as humans (all things remaining same) just like one has a child and say he/she will be a graduate in 25years to come, without considering that the child can decide dropout of school to pursue other ambitions.
That's why we all should not be too passionate about any of this. |

This is very childish sir. It's seems you take this Nairaland comments very serious and you are very bitter about the outcomes of the 2015 and 2019 elections. In a democracy, everyone exercise their rights to vote for ANY candidate that they like and there is no crime committed in doing that, so no need for punishment of any region or ethnic group. There are hundreds of ethnic groups in Nigeria, many of whom voted for any candidate so why singling out the Yorubas for special punishment? And why do you think you or few embittered fellows like you on Nairaland can punish a whole ethnic group? What's so special about 2023? Where is it written or said that a Yoruba MUST be president in that year? In electoral contests, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, what's so special in that? If a Yoruba man is not elected as a President in 2023,'then they can win another time... please stop all these arrant nonsense talks sir. franchasng: Yorubas miscalculated and created enemy for themselves with their Southeast and Southsouth brothers they ought to have stood with or at least not condemn them so viciously like they have been doing since 2015 that they ganged-up against Goodluck, supported the bias removal of CJN Onnoghen.
Power will return back to PDP, definitely to a Northern politician, most probably Kwankwaso or Atiku or Tambuwal or any other Northern politician that PDP will field in 2023!
APC is a Lagos party without Buhari in the picture!
So in 2023 when Buhari completes his tenure, he will become a docile siddon de look while his Northern brothers put their cars on reverse gear back to PDP to ensure power remains in the north.
And of course Southeast and Southsouth will vote massively for PDP's Northern candidate to ensure they pay Yoruba people back their attacks and hatred on SE and SS!
By then, we will see how Southwest will win 2023 Presidential election.
The only way APC can possibly remain in power in 2023 is to field a Northern candidate like El Rufai, Nuhu Ribadu, which Tinubu and Southwest will never accept, so 2023 will be super fun to witness, God please keep me alive and healthy to witness the events |

In all these your permutations, where do you put God? You know how the next 30years will be? dokie: Absolutely.
Beyond all these, the PDP is willing to do everything and anything to get national power back. The strongest individual northern politician is in pdp (kwankwaso), and he wants the presidency by all means. Buhari is too selfcenterd to bother about anything else, especially in 4 years time when he'll be older and more demented. The APC would be having so much internal issues because the SW would be demanding power as its right, while the wise ones amongst them would be routing for a northern candidate so that they don't lose power to PDP. Meanwhile, SE/SS would have already aligned behind the northern PDP candidate.
The truth is that the only way SW can get power in the next 30 years in Nigeria is if Buhari dies in office. With the look of things, it will hardly happen. |

Bros relax and tone down on your fixation with Lagos. The History, yore, political evolution, ethnography and world views of the Yorubas are different from that of the Igbos and this is complicated by the politics of the highly heterogeneous artificially created country we live in. Asking why what's obtainable with the Yorubas is not obtainable with the Igbos is like asking why Banana is different from Oranges. Chimok: I ve never seen an Anambra man for any reason claiming Enugu, Owerri or Abia or the other way round.
So y would all Yoruba be claiming Lagos. An Ogun, Osun or Ondo man cannot get entitlements that belong to lagosians just like an Igbo man cannot as well
What belongs to Lagos are for Lagosians alone and not for Ogun, Osun or Anambra man.
So Yoruba people should stop embarrassing and deluding themselves. You are not all from Lagos, just like Igbo men who come from their various states |

The obsession of our Igbo brothers with Lagos never cease to amaze and amuse me.
Many young Igbo guys especially those born and brought up outside the S/East are smart and hard working guys but they seems to have a superficial understanding of the political Arithmetics of Nigeria. Many come online to proudly display this trait.
They approach political matters in a highly heterogeneous artificially created country by viewing issues solely from their own prisms and not viewing the same issues from the prisms of their opponents/competitors. |

Lagos elections: The PDP, Lagos chapter need to go back to the drawing board and do a thorough soul searching. They urgently need to discard the strategy of appealing to the emotions of non-Yorubas as a mean of gaining political power because such divisive strategies not only end up pitching the non-indigenes against their host communities, it's bound to be counterproductive. deomelo: If you say it's raining outside, they will shout Tinubu, say the sky is blue, they will shout Tinubu, Tinubu is the beginning and end of their existence and the reason why their towns and villages are backward and unproductive, he's even the reason why they must leave their villages and head to Lagos for survival.
I don't even get the fascination with the man, he's not a public official and he left public office decades ago.
Funny enough, you can not deny him anything or stop him from doing anything because he's a private citizen, he's not running for office so you can not stop him or do anything to him.
O to ge stopped Saraki in Kwara because Saraki is a public official running for another term in office so you can deny him that opportunity be not voting for him, but Tinubu is not running for anything so you can not stop him and you can not ban him from politics, from political association and supporting political candidates because according to the Nigerian constitution, he's free to associate with any political party, groups and associations.
Instead of facing and campaigning against Sanwo Olu, they wasted their time and energy on Tinubu who is not running for anything.
And to make matters worse, they injected tribalism with ibo votes which Yoruba APC and PDP united together joined forces to reject overwhenmingly |

Its the other way round. The day Igbos choose to stop using the port in lagos and stop using banks whose headquarters are in lagos that's wen u know lagos is wat it is because of Igbos. When Igbos choose to leave the so called lagos, tell me who will live in those expensive houses? Hausas? Or agberos?. Don't be deceived the exodus of Igbos from lagos won't create any opportunity for yorubas because they can't suddenly develop business sense and occupy the businesses Igbos do. Just pray one day the Onne and calabar ports doesn't become fully operational, then u will know lagos is nothing. One more thing 80% of yorubas in rivers state are taxi drivers. Kwankwanso is the name of his hometown in Kano State. In 1992, he was a member of House of Representatives but when he started Statewide politics, he like many other politicians that are not from Noble families need to stress the names of their town as an identity. In Yoruba land, however your family backgrounds is far more important than your town's identity, that's why some people from reputable/Noble families add their family names to their surnames to gain grassroot acceptability e.g Ex-Gov Adebayo Alao-Akala who added his family name ,AKALA to his surname in 1997 when he joined Politics. He reminded his constituents that he is a descendant of the great AKALA, an illustrious citizen of Ogbomosho of old, admired by the town's people for patriotic contributions to the town. Even in Kano, descendants of Bayero or Audu Bako like to add their family names to their surnames for recognition and acceptability. Twy: Why is his name Kwankwaso. In 1992, he was Rabiu Musa. |

There is no Tinubu in Abia or Kwara States, yet these States are quite under-developed. dokie: Sullivan chime blew up hills and filled up valleys to build roads (not a road) of 50km+ without tollgate linking the towns to villages in Enugu state , with the lowest levels of FAAC and very little IGR and didn't even hold commissioning ceremonies before they were put into use. Peter Obi did even more, and the story isn't too different in Ebonyi State, And one ignorant person will sit in his Lagos and be hailing Tinubu and his employees for utilizing less than 30% of the income the state gets and calls it the best level of governance in Nigeria.

The first written record of the word 'Yoruba' was in a 15th century book authored by the Songhai scholar, Baba Ahmed to described the people of South West Nigeria, South East Benin republic and related groups. It was most likely coined from the two words, Oyo and Oba, initially referring to the people/subjects of the King of Oyo. oilPUSSY: I just posted a picture and you are wailing on my mentions..
