You don't seems to get my points. I am not against the protest per see but the aims of the protest. Anybody can protest but the purpose of the protests will be defeated if they don't consider the realities on ground. The reality is to join hands with the major opposition party to defeat Tinubu's party, mere protests can't achieve anything. The Government can't say Tinubu should not participate in politics because somepeople are protesting. Xisnin: Nigeria constitution gurantees freedom of assembly and protest. It is not your business to tell people when it is okay to protest or not. |
Politics › Re: Police Barricade Anti-tinubu Rally In Lagos by oyatz(m): 5:30pm On Mar 01, 2019 |
Then what's the essence of their protests? It's better they join hands with the PDP and start campaigning for Jimi Agbaje to win, anything else is a waste of time and energy. The constitutional rights of Tinubu to join any political party or support a particular candidate can NOT be nullified by any protest. Xisnin: They are not asking Tinubu to do anything. They just want to be left alone to protest in peace. |

Sir, I am beginning to understand you better. Making informed decisions/statement based on intelligence is one area you have to work-on. 1) All the Nairalanders you referred to as 'you people' don't necessarily come from the same Geo-political zone, let alone they come from the South West. 2) Even, if we assume they are ALL from the Southwest, they are NOT upto 3,000 people. There are millions of people in the South west that have never heard of Nairaland before, let alone be on this forum. 3) That a supposedly educated person in 2019 assumed that the discussions on Nairaland forum represent the position/opinions of the millions of people in the South West is most unfortunate. SouthEastFacts: CYou guys shouted 4+4 pass aboki but turn around to vote Atiku and when the results starts favouring Buhari you guys started insulting Ndi Igbo calling them names for insulting the same Atiku you guys voted massively for.

Politics › Re: 2019: The Yorubas Didn't Betray Anybody by oyatz(op): 3:36pm On Feb 28, 2019 |
1) In democracy, every citizens vote based on his/her conscience. The concept of betrayal is inappropriate to describe electoral choices. 2) In Nigeria, political parties and not individuals or TRIBES contest elections. If Buhari had contested on the platform of labour party or APGA, he would have lost. 3) All politics is local. There is a growing resentment against the APC in Osun and Oyo States due to the ways the APC State Governments are running the States ,thereby demarketing the party. There are many diehard PDP members/supporters/fans in the S/west. There are indigenes of Osun/Oyo States who suffered the economic mismanagement of Aregbesola/Ajimobi administrations with transferred aggression against Buhari/APC and used the election to show their grievances. Gov Ajimobi of Oyo State was defeated in the senatorial election and Aregbesola (a one time most beloved politician in Osun State) could not even contest to avoid electoral humiliation and the PDP eventually won his Ife-Ijeshsa senatorial district. The sentiments that Osinbajo is on the ticket didn't appeal to well educated Yoruba people who are against the economic /political policies of the APC. stephleena: You didn't betray Easterners at all.. we weren't expecting anything from u lots. but we were so happily surprised when we saw the results from southwest it was really pleasant... Dear Nairalanders. The 2019 Presidential election has come and gone, so let's live in harmony with one another.
It's surprising to see some ethnic e-warriors who started screaming on this forum since the results were officially announced that the Yorubas betrayed the Southern agenda/interest or that the Yorubas betrayed the S/east by voting for Buhari.
ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS IN BOTH REGIONS.
SOUTHEAST APC=403,968 PDP=1,693,485
SOUTHWEST APC=2,036,450 PDP= 1,776,670
From the above analysis, even if we assume for the sake of their assumptions that Atiku is good and Buhari is evil, any fair minded and Objective analyst can see that the S/West gave Atiku/PDP greater votes than the S/East. |
Politics › Re: 2023 Is Two Southern Southern Candidates by oyatz(m): 2:01pm On Feb 28, 2019 |
Sir, from most of your comments, it's obvious you have a deep seated resentments that's close to hatred for the Yorubas people. I can't help you to overcome this problem but for the benefit of neutral observers who come to this site to read, I will respond to certain wrong assumptions in your earlier post. 1) Yoruba didn't betray anybody. The ways people like you use the word 'betray and betrayal' to explain purely political decisions completely change the meaning of those words. 2) You wrongly assume that tthe indivifual citizens and the Geo-political regions who voted for Atiku are patriotic Nigerians who want the best for the Country while those who voted for Buhari (represented by the S/West in your post) are evil people who are hell bent on destroying the country for the sake of power. This a very dangerous fallacy. 3) Results of the 2019 Presidential election SOUTHEAST APC=403,968 PDP=1,693,485 SOUTHWEST APC=2,036,450 PDP= 1,776,670 From the above analysis, even if we assume for the sake of your assumptions that Atiku is good and Buhari is evil, you can see that the S/West gave Atiku/PDP greater votes than the S/East. SouthEastFacts: Yes it is. If you are a data analyst you would have known that Nairaland holds sufficient amount of data to draw reasonable inference from.
Nairaland gives people anonymous cover to show their true self but in real life they tend to hide that. Believe it or not, an average yoruba man has the same perception about the Ndi Igbo like the ones online but they are too coward to show it.
I can never believe the North is the problem of this country because they are not. They know what they want and have been going all-out for that.
What does Yorubas want? Restructuring just like every people from the south and for the first time, a president openly campaigned on that and signed documents that he would.
But the Yoruba betrayed a movement they originated and championed for an imaginary presidency that will never happen.
We know who is fueling the herdsmen crisis in the North, yet of all the good politicians from the North it is El Rufai that the South wants on their ticket in 2023.
The problem of the Nigeria is SW cowardice. Those people as a result of their geographical location, population and literacy should be providing leadership for the South like the NW is doing in the North holding it together but absconded from their rightful position allowing SE/SS to bear the burden of Southern Unity.
The problem of the South and Nigeria is SOUTH WEST.
I don't have any power to see the future but one thing I know is that a SW 2023 can never happen as long as the West continue to behave as if they are more Northern than Southern. |
Politics › Re: 2023 Is Two Southern Southern Candidates by oyatz(m): 9:34am On Feb 28, 2019 |
Sir, you seems to 1) Strongly believe what happens on Nairaland is an exact replica of political realities. 2) Strongly believe that the North is the problem of Nigeria or substantial improvement can only be achieved if people from certain Geo-political zones become the president. 3) have an exaggerated power to see the future and determine what can happen (a grandiose delision). SouthEastFacts: Stop behaving as if you are new to Nairaland. You brothers openly taunt us with that here on Nairaland and Twitter.
2023, We will see how your 265k marginal votes will return my guy Osinbanjo as President. I love that guy and many of Ndi Igbo secretly admire him.
But a lot of yorubas are making it difficult for him. Hate Ndi Igbo or not, the truth is we are loyal to a fault. If we stand with you, we rather sink with you than betray you and again, we have the BLOC vote in the South.
SW gave Buhari a win of 265k while Anambra gave Atiku over 500k. This means if the election had held only in Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Osun and Anambra and we voted the way we all did, Atiku would have win with over 250k votes, a landslide, just because of a bloc vote from one State.
Like I said before, most of us like Osinbanjo and Ndi Igbo will never betray Southern interest because of aboki unless our sophisticated brothers give us no choice.
The SE/SS controls PDP national structure while the North controls APC's. If we rally behind Osinbanjo and insist on a Southern PDP ticket and then field a weak ticket, Osinbanjo will climb to power. This will help us take back the control of the country from the North and save us all from a potential Northern 16 years.
SE/SS are both adventurous and I am sure they can do that just for the South, but can SW do this for the south?
NEVER!!! |

Even if PDP zones the ticket to us, we will zone it back to the North. It is 4+4+4+4 until yorubas get sense. |

Atiku is not a Fulani man. The Fulani are the ones who conquered the Hausas and established emirates. So, how will they allow a conquered person to rule over them? The problem with us in the south is that we see the Hausas and the Fulanis as one. The common denominator is that most of them are all Muslims. But when it comes to leadership, the Fulanis are in control. Virtually every northerner that has ever ruled Nigeria are all Fulani except Gowon who is from the middle belt. |

I for once don't like engaging people who can't discuss without being rude/insultive(especially because of political office holders who don't even know them). 1) In Nigeria, political parties and NOT individuals contest elections. Many Senators and Reps especially in the North were elected because they contested on the platform of Buhari's party. 2) If some politicians can get votes because they belong to Buhari's party, Buhari too can lose votes because he belongs to Aregbesola's or Ajimobi's party. 3) As an indigene, resident and a stakeholder in Osun, I told you the bitter truth that the hatred for APC harboured by some of the electorate is because of Aregbesola's administration and you started throwing tantrums. I easily get irritated by this kind of posts. We have APC Governors who mismanaged the ecomomies of their Ststes like Ex-Gov Aregbesola, demarketing APC in the process. My mother-in-law and many other elder citizens of Osun State worked meritoriously for the State Government for 35years and retired in 2012 but the State's Government refused to pay them their grauities and their children irregularly paid half salaries for over 30months and you expect them to be voting for APC for the simple sentiments that our son is the VP or our zone may succeed Buhari. Where is that done? Although I am not a PDP's fan but I want APC to lose some seats( Osun West,Osun East, Obokun/Ori-Ade Federal constituency) in Osun as a lesson that you can't take our people for a ride. MYHUBBY: southwest is a big disappointment. I agree for the votes they gave gej/PDP then because of the Lagos/Ibadan expressway he started then but why play ignorant to Buhari achievement in west
ever since democracy came to Nigeria, Buhari is the only president to have perform well in west in terms of development. I'm highly disappointed in west
what does Atiku/OBJ did for west during their wasted Years? Lagos/Ibadan expressway was grounded, ikorodu/sagamu road was in a sorry case, they withheld Lagos state allocation and some people still found it comfortable to vote for Atiku
if not for North love and commitment and acknowledging Buhari achievement this thief would have been winning him with a landslide
I'm very disappointed in west |
