1) The constitution (not my wish or opinion) stipulate the educational retirements for eligibility for an election. 2) WAEC or University degrees are completely absent in that requirements 3) The only thing you need is to show that you are educated upto SCHOOL CERTIFICATE LEVEL or it's equivalents (Not to show that you were serious academically as evidenced by Five credits in O/Level). 4) The interpretation clause in the Constitution even went further to explain the term 'Or it's equivalents' and this include having Pry-6 school leaving certificate and working in Government offices for at least 10 years or just being able to read and write well and INEC in their estimation consider you to be educated. jboycrb: You mean a university drop out can claim 1st degree because he/she was once in school? |

Although I am not a fan of Adeleke but you are misinforming the readers. Adeleke ONLY need to show evidence of being educated upto School certificate level or it's equivalents. Attending Secondary school upto Form-6(even without writing WAEC but with testimony from the School) is enough to stand for elections. Sitting for only one subject in 1982 WAEC and getting F9 is itself an evidence that he went to secondary .Whether he was serious academically or not is another matter. You don't need Five credits for elections. Tinubu2023: Nigeria court and useless judgement.
Apart from Adeleke not having certificate, what will happen since APC Won almost 22 house of Assembly in the state.
Adeleke will be impeached by the state house of assembly few weeks after swearing.
Most of the tension and problem during this 2019 election are caused by the Nigeria courts.

In the just concluded 2019 presidential election: 1) Atiku was defeated even in his polling unit and struggled to win his home State. 2) The Southwest had their son on ballot, yet still gave ATIKU/OBI more votes than the Southeast. dokyOloye: It is easy for you to type this trash cos you are probably cocooned in the East or Lagos. Try to leave the South East or Lagos where you probably reside ,then you will understand better. Those of us living in the middle belt/North have to tiptoe around these savages just to be safe in the so Called 1 Nigeria. The average Nigerian hates an Igbo man and this hate is borne out of nothing but envy. For example in this present Buhari's Nigeria, they have denied Igbos sensitive political posts yet Igbos still do better than all of them. The rejection of Atiku in the North and South West over an evidently incompetent buhari is probably due to his Igbo vice president. They prefer to suffer than have an Igbo man in Ask rock. If you are truly Igbo, don't come out to contribute in what you aren't well grounded on again. |

The problem with tribal bigots is that they lack the capacity to think deeply without viewing issues solely from the prisms of Tribes Vs Tribe and they love GENERALIZATIONS based on tribal groups. 1) Nobody hate Igbos, let alone for their 'progressiveness' 2) There are individuals who hate other individuals regardless of their tribes. There are Yorubas who hate another guys, Tiv Guys or people they don't even know their ethnic groups same for individual Igbos who hate another Igbo guys. 3) Most conflicts that occur throughout human history have to do with sharing of resources/wealth which are often complicated by greed. When 'foreigners' are involved, this may take the forms of 'We Vs them' colouration. 4) For certain complex reasons (which I won't discuss), Igbos move out of their domains to engage in economic activities all over Nigeria and beyond. Whenever there are conflicts, Igbos are often more affected than others not because of hate specifically targeted against Igbos but because Igbos proportionately have higher numbers of non-indigenes. 5) Igbos are NOT more progressive or more economically developed than other Nigerians. Westaslave2: Hating igbos business of dia progressiveness isnt d issue but battling the nemesis of burning their shops (life sweat)and killing dem Look at north ,luk at middle belt .truth if is only fulani that torments middle belt dat means they are stil safe .

Bros calm down, this is KOGI thread not Rivers thread. Built2last: False Equivalences And APC Justification Of Their Criminality
People keep talking bullcrap about how Jonathan back then bullied Amaechi and disrupted Rivers elections and that Amaechi is doing payback.
I challenge the people to present video of the army under Jonathan bullying Amaechi or any APC person.
Amaechi was in collation centers or at least the window. The only time Amaechi was stopped by the army was in Ekiti election. What was he doing in Ekiti. And even then, we do not know the full story as again, no one took videos of it. APC and their press-power spun a lot of tales against Jonathan back then and even now
So NO. Not newspaper story of Amaechi lying that he was locked out of government house. Camera phones and internet was available then
Show videos of Jonathan's army beating up people and stealing ballot boxes and shooting anyone, either in Ekiti or anywhere.
By evening of the election day in Ekiti, Fayemi had congratulated Fayose. It took a week for Fayemi to be railroaded by APC people to say there was rigging. He accepted the result the very hour the CONCLUSIVE election result was announced and without undue gbormorgbormor delays.
The worst evidence they can produce is a useless phonecall of a purported confesssion by a military man
Show videos of any APC supporter being stopped from voting in 2015.
In fact, it was Amaechi STOPPING Jonathan from using a government stadium for campaign. Even Ganduje let Kwankwaso and Atiku use Kano stadium. It was Amaechi bullying Jonathan all through, calling Wole Soyinka to insult Jonathan's wife and call her Manatee and Shepopotamos.
Papers reported rubbish without evidence
That Sahara Reporter guy that ran for president, thunder will fire him for his lies
Show us videos of soldiers under Jonathan or even OBJ or at any previous election helping THIEVES steal ballot boxes.
Buhari is a disgrace to Africa and evolving leadership. He is the type of anachronism that sane people ought have spat out.
Who uses soldiers to shoot at an election observer and kill after threatening to put them in bodybags? Who stops election monitors as they did in Rivers? Who in this day and age does that?
Or you have not seen the EU observers who said the army stopped them from monitoring the election??
We have sunk to ugly depths and idiots try to justify a cesspool with false equivalence
Jonathan or PDP never went about burning people's votes nor stopping people from voting because they know how a tribe is likely to vote and so prevent them from voting
The false equivalences must stop. Defend the shameful and desperate actions of your Buhari and Amaechi without bringing Jonathan's name into it... except you have video evidence like the plethora we have of the disruptive conniving instigating criminal army under a smelly Commander in Chief. |

What's this chap even saying? Democracy in Nigeria is evolving and you are fixated on the assumption that ethnic identities alone will continue to determine the choice of a president of Nigeria. For you to be President in Nigeria, there is need for a 'national consensus' and acceptability of your candidacy in at least 24 States. Amumaigwe: The real decision makers in the North are the millions of street urchins that have been indoctrinated with the supremacy of the North and Islam and how Yoruba muslims are fake. Yoruba and Igbos are NOT the only ethnic groups in Nigeria so the choice of a President of Nigeria can not be reduced to Igbo Vs Yoruba affairs or specifically the attempt by the Igbos to punish the Yorubas. There are individual Yoruba,Igbo, Kanuri, Tiv, Berom, Nupe, Igala,Edo, Ogoni, Ikwerre, Ijaw,Baruba that are nursing presidential ambitions. Asking them to forgo their ambitions and sign-up for 16years reign of Hausa-Fulani will not be easy. This will reinforce the myth that some people are 'born to rule'. Think very well about it, many prominent politicians see beyond the petty childish political reasoning going on here. eagleeye2: I remember stating somewhere that other tribes in Nigeria will never elect a SE (Igbo) president. I don't delude myself in thinking that an Igbo man stands a chance for Aso Rock. No. So, the PDP is not likely to go that route because they know they will lose. And it's a sure thing that APC is going for a Southwest Presidential candidate. And the natural thing for PDP to do is to pursue a Northern presidential candidate. I agree the North will have a divided vote, but the Southeast and the south south will tilt towards the PDP candidate. Thus my calculation is that the division in the South will be the undoing of the APC in 2023. Power is all about interests. |

Good luck to you franchasng: Tell all these your moonlight tales to your Yoruba brothers who have been busy attacking, defaming and condemning Igbos to the extent of even threatening to attack Igbos physically if they vote against APC or Tinubu's choice in Lagos and true their words, they fulfilled their threats in Lagos as witnessed in Okota, Surulere, Amuwo-Odofin, etc.
No Yoruba elite or even ordinary Yoruba man or woman condemned that abominable and shameful act of Yorubas instead they continued to brag and unleash more threats on Igbos.
