franchasofficia: What balderdash
For you to win Presidential election in Nigeria, you need to get 25% of total votes cast in two-third of the 36 states meaning 24 states and Abuja, and also win the majority vote.
So if you win or get 25% votes cast in:
Imo Abia Anambra Lagos Osun Ekiti Delta Rivers Edo Cross River Bayelsa Kaduna Benue Kogi Borno Plateau Bauchi Taraba Nasarawa Enugu Sokoto Akwa Ibom Rivers Adamawa Abuja
you will emerge winner. No law says that you must win Northwest and Southwest, which yeye talk be that?
What you are spewing is the same criminal talk the old criminal Northern politicians use to discourage Southerners and make it seem like they are the kingmakers.
If we conduct a free and fair election using BVAS and transmit results electronically on realtime to iREV, you will then realize how much criminal Nigerian politicians have been deceiving you to believe they are mighty Iroko tree when they are actually an ordinary grass I am not taking about LAW here but the political reality. |

Ofunaofu: In Imo State, a fourth place holder was declared winner and to the beneficiary, Hope uzodimma and his party the APC, it was justice served The cases are different. Imo: Hope Uzodimma had gone to court challenging the powers of INEC to cancel and exclude votes from his area after the presiding officers have declared the results and signed at the Polling units. Presidential Election: Peter Obi's petition is not that some votes from his strongholds were excluded, rather he is praying for disqualification of the winner and cancellation of the votes scored by the APC and declaring him winner based on the remaining results or that the Tribunal should order a fresh election in which Tinubu won't participate. Either way, he will fail. |

Peter Obi's votes in Plateau was also massively suppressed.
Peter Obi won the election bro. We have done the real collation using original polling unit results and Obi won with a very wide margin, that's why its paining even Datti cos he never believed they could get such massive support from even his own Northern brothers This is NOT how to win cases at the Tribunal. You will State the 1) Results of ALL the candidates , polling units-by-polling units. 2) Accredited votes 3) Cancelled votes. 4) Total votes cast 5) Total Registered votes |

SpatialKing: Why not 37 states? Because Nigeria is made up of 36 States and the FCT. States are Federation Units, the FCT is not. The essence of the 25% in two thirds of the whole of Nigeria is to ensure 'spread' or broad based support across most parts of Nigeria so that a particular ethnic group or Geo-political zone with high population will not be lording itself over the rest of Nigeria, so you need support of people in two thirds of the country. Now, the FCT is populated by people who are Gov't workers or have certain things to do with Gov't or Representatives of Foreign Countries , domiciled in the FCT. There is nothing special about the votes of the FCT that make it superior to votes of other Nigerians in the determination of who should be the President. |

The constitution didn't say it is mandatory to win FCT.. Just get a certain 25% of the votes... Buhari lost fct but got the required 25% amount... Obasanjo, GEJ all met the 25% Why should Tinubu be different? The constitution did NOT say get ' 25% IN the FCT' It is the mischievous supporters of Peter Obi that are inputting wrong notions into what is not there. All votes are equal in all states AND FCT
So since all votes are equal then 25% FCT votes is also equal to votes from other states.... When you make 25% in FCT compulsory, then the votes in FCT is automatically superior to other votes. Look at the likely scenario you will create *All candidates will make getting maximal votes in the FCT a do or die affairs *Many candidates will urge people from their ethnic groups to transfer their polling units from several States to the FCT which will become chaotic * All candidates will concentrate on the FCT: with all kinds of intimidation, rigging and this will lead to violence. sacajawea: This is what I wanted to confirm! If they went into Cinemas to watch, at Certain very specific times and all. I know it must have definitely existed in the 70's , and I know for a certainty this cinema porn survived into the 90's. Magazines in the 60's was it available even to poor people too, like the very poor? Cos my investigation and study, wants to draw, connect a dot between very early exposure of most lower class Nigerian males and certain behaviours. As for the softcore part, softcore story line you mentioned, but full sex scenes from kissing to climax was shown Abi? Just like porn today?
Thank you very much for your response. And if you can answer the above two questions, @ bolded, I will appreciate First , we need to understand that societal approval of sexual behaviours and the concepts of morality in general varies from generation to generation and from places to places. In the Ancient Times, pornography was well approved but largely limited to erotic sculptures and paintings (sometimes around the vicinity of certain temples dedicated to the goddess of fertility) and this continued to the Greeco-Roman era. Sometimes, the Royals and Aristocrats of that era can call on some people (usually slaves) to perform live 'porn' to entertain them and their guests. Pornography became a little more advanced in the Medieval period. There were special erotic carvings with limbs specially joined to the body . These limbs can be attached to very thin (almost invisible) threads which are then pulled by the 'organizer' to give the impression that the statues' private part is hitting the buttocks of the female counterparts. These pornographic 'shows' were special produced to entertain the Kings and the Elites The invention of the printing press and photography made mass production of porn materials available to the masses. They are often displayed at brothels. In Nigeria of the 1960s, the society frown at open display of sexual acts, thus porn were watched secretly but may be watched by the Elites and Western Educated Heads-of-the families ,who were relatively above criticism by most members of the society. Teenagers caught reading pornographic magazines at school were often expelled. The 'Blue Films' were shown at Cinemas at Night (8pm-10pm) when it is usually dark and most watchers couldn't be identified. Yes, the softcore porn films often show the penis been inserted to the vagina and revealed other body parts. Videos became available in Nigeria in the late 1970s but only few elites could afford them, thus 'Blue films' in VHS only became freely available around 1990. Even by then, there were many towns in Nigeria where nobody owned T.V with 'Videos' but in Lagos, you could have about 5-10 people per Street who had these electronics. In the 1980s, many young ladies lost their virginity and many were impregnated when they went to watch films in the apartments of young bachelors that had 'Colour T.V and Videos ' The widespread availability of Smart Phones with internet access has now made porn available to almost everybody with devastating consequences. Almost every undergraduate now watch porns and practice what they watch in these films (including Oral and Anal sex, two/three-somes etc). |

I know that in the 70s, certain places may have had film houses where they watched porn, so I won't really ask about the 70's By 80s, definitely, you could buy and watch in your house, cassettes and all being available, if you could afford it. But was there blue film in Lagos and nigeria in the 60s and Early 70s? How did people watch porn in those very early days, Apart from magazines, if they were available even Pornography (in varying forms) is as old as man. By 1960, there were porn films but only available for Kings and the Elites because Television has not become widely available. The ordinary people used Porn Magazines or go to certain cinemas where Porns are shown on special data e.g 8-10 pm on last Saturdays of the month. In 1960 Lagos, you could watch porns (strictly in special days and time) in such cinemas like Pen Cinema, Agege Casino Cinema, Alagomeji ,Yaba Denton Street Cinema , Oyingbo, Ebute-metta Central Cinema, Lagos Street, Ebute-metta (East). NB: The porn movies of that era were softcore (in forms of a storyline in which a hero/Prince fall in love with a local girl or a girl of high caste elope with a slave/servant and they eventually have sex) |

Education › Re: Why Are Hausas Not Desperate To Search For Greener Pastures Outside Country? by oyatz(m): 9:49am On May 05, 2023 |
To answer the question in a fair minded and objective way;
1) The world views of most Hausa-Fulanis are quite different from that of the Southerners.
Most Hausa-Fulanis strongly believe in FATE, that what will be will eventually be, thus they easily accept what comes their ways. They aren't driven by strong desires to effect changes through drastic measures like leaving their loved ones behind and traveling to hustle among strange cultures of Europe/USA,Canada and other parts of the world which will necessitate dropping/changing some of their cultural values in order to blend with the culture of their host countries.
2) Few educated and westernized Northerners travel abroad but mostly to study and immediately after their studies, they return to their homelands to take-up prime Gov't Jobs and wait patiently for 10-15 years to become the bosses in Public Service. |

richmond500: na learn we deh learn daily and we could educate each other. Now just because someone bears Igbo name, that doesn't mean he is igbo. There is no culture that is 100% independent of other cultures, even the igbos form their culture by imbibing others that works for them and with time, you begin to take few things that u like about others to make your own. Football is not a British thing, it was taken from the medieval age, the British only modernized it. Civilization is not European thing, it started in Africa. The igbos also took other cultures to form theirs, those igbo name might even belong to some ancient dynasty which your forefathers took so stop the assumption that because they bear igbo names, they automatically become igbos. They are plainly ignorant. All over the world, ethnic groups overlap and people bear similar names and speak similar languages with varying degrees of differences. For instance, it is very common to see Europeans from different countries/ethnic groups bearing similar names e.g Williams/Whilem, Henri/Henry, Peter/Peitro,Pedro, Charles/Karl, Ceaser/Kaiser/Czar etc |
