PoliticsRe: Lai Mohammed Replies Obasanjo's Letter To Buhari (Full Statement) by ozimec(m): 7:30pm On Jan 24, 2018
itsdumebi:
@POLITICSNGR

Minister of Information and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress,APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has responded to Ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo's letter to Buhari.

In a statement obtained by PoliticsNGR, Lai Mohammed listed Buhari's achievements and gave reasons for the government's problems. The statement read;

"We have read the press statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the State of the Nation.

For the record, Chief Obasanjo is a patriot, and he has proven this time and time again. We appreciate what he said concerning the Administration's performance in two out of the three key issues that formed the plank of its campaign: Fighting corruption and tackling insurgency. Specifically, the former President said President Buhari must be given credit for his achievement so far in these two areas. We thank him for this.

Apparently, the former President believes that the Administration does not deserve a pass mark in the area of the economy, which is the third of our three-pronged campaign promises.

We have no doubt that in the face of massive challenges in this area, this Administration has availed itself creditably. We believe that Chief Obasanjo, because of his very busy schedule, may not have been fully availed of developments in the government's efforts to revamp the economy, which was battered by the consequences of over-dependence on a commodity as well as unprecedented pillaging of the treasury.

Today, most of the indices by which an economy is measured are looking up. Permit me to say, however, that Nigeria would not have exited recession through a mere order or if the Administration had not made use of ''good Nigerians'' who could help.

This Administration is making steady progress in its determined effort to revamp the economy, and the results are showing:

* Foreign Reserves have peaked at $40b, the highest level in about four years, and up from $24 billion just a year ago, even though when we came in, the price of oil had crashed woefully.

* According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBC), headline inflation has fallen for 11 consecutive months, standing at 15.37% as at Dec. 2017. This is the lowest inflation rate since Jan 2017, and it has met and surpassed the target set for inflation in the Administration's Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).

* Our determined implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) has stopped the hemorrhaging of the treasury. Some 108 billion Naira has been saved from removal of maintenance fees payable to banks, pre-TSA. The nation is being saved 24.7 billion Naira monthly with the full implementation of the TSA.

* The elimination of ghost workers has saved the nation 120 billion Naira

* At about 1.8 billion dollars, the capital inflows in the second quarter of 2017 were almost double the $908 million in the first quarter.

* In the wake of a stable Naira and increased investment inflows, Nigeria’s stock market emerged one of the best-performing in the world, delivering returns in excess of 40 percent.

* Nigeria rose 24 places on the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business ranking, and earned a place on the List of Top 10 Reformers in the world.

* According to Q3 2017 figures, agriculture export is up year-on-year by 25%, solid minerals exports are up year-on-year by 78%, raw materials exports are up 70% year-on-year and manufactured goods exports are up 22% year-on-year.

* Government agencies such as the Nigeria Customs Service are reporting highest-ever revenue collection, while JAMB, under the new management appointed by President Buhari in 2016, remitted N7.8 billion to the coffers of the federal government.

The total amount remitted by JAMB between 2010 and 2016 was a paltry N51 million!
These positive indices may not have immediately impacted positively on Nigerians, but Nigerians will definitely get a new lease of life a short while from now. This is because the good news from the agricultural sector, which is recording a bumper harvest, will bring down the cost of foodstuffs, especially such staple as rice, and our massive Social Investment Programme will ease the pain of the most vulnerable in the society.

When we assumed office in 2015, some 6 million farmers were involved in rice production. Thanks to the Anchor Borrowers' programme of this Administration, we have grown that number to over 12 million farmers. The result is that our rice import from Thailand alone has dropped from 644 metric tonnes to 22,000 MT in just two years. This is phenomenal.

Apart from rice, Nigeria is also doing well in other grains,
especially Millet, Sorghum and Maize. We are now the second largest producer of sorghum after the US, the third in millet after India and our breweries are now enjoying local sourcing of those commodities.

For maize, we are producing 10 million tons while we need about 13 million tons for both human and animal nutrition. Nigeria leads the world in the yam and cassava production. We account for 70% of the world's yam production. In two years, we hope to be the world's largest exporter of yam! Overall, our ambition is that agriculture should rise from 25% to 40% of GDP, so that we can banish poverty and overcome our economic anxiety.

Our Social Investment Programme is Nigeria’s most ambitious social welfare programme ever. Currently, 5.2 million primary school children in 28,249 schools in 19 states are being fed daily; 200,000 unemployed graduates have enlisted into the N-power Job Scheme, and a quarter of a million loans already distributed to artisans, traders, and farmers.

Finally, our investment in infrastructure is simply unprecedented. This is because infrastructure is key to faster economic growth and development.

Here is a synopsis of what we have done in this area:
* Power Generation at an all-time high of 7,000mw and all can be transmitted

* RAIL: Lagos-Kano Standard Gauge is on. Lagos-Ibadan sector ready 2019, Kano-Kaduna ready 2019; The entire stretch ready 2021; Negotiations on for Coastal Rail covering 15 cities from Lagos to Calabar.

* ROAD: 25 major highways being funded with the N100b Sukuk Bond, and all geo-political zones are benefitting equally

This Administration is not unaware of the enormity of the challenges facing the nation, but we are up to the task. We have taken the bull by the horns, and long-suffering Nigerians will begin to experience a new lease of life as our efforts yield fruits. We will not go into a state of funk for whatever reason.

On the Herders/Farmers' clashes, this Administration is determined to end the crisis resulting from this once and for all, not minding the fact that the clashes predate us. we urge Nigerians to have faith in the Administration's ability to resolve the crisis, and to watch out for concrete measures in this regard.

On whether or not President Muhammadu Buhari should run for another term, it is true that many Nigerians have been calling on the President to run again, while others are opposed to his return. However, we believe this issue is a distraction for the President at this time. This is because Mr. President spends every waking hour tackling the enormous challenges facing the nation, most of which were bequeathed to his Administration by successive past Administrations. He is committed to fulfilling the mandate given to him by Nigerians in 2015. And that's where we are right now!

Finally, we have no reason to believe that former President Obasanjo has any motive beyond the well-being of the nation in issuing his Special Press Statement. We have also taken his admonition in good faith, and we thank him most sincerely for taking time off his busy schedule to pen such a long statement.

It's good for one to be properly informed. Ifeajuna and Nzeogwu let a coup in 1966 against the state, and one of their target was to eliminate the then Head of State Aguiyi Ironsi and other principal officers.
I believe to you he is the Patriot?
Ojukwu fought against the killings of the southerners in the North which the then HOS Gowon did nothing to stop the massacre.

To ask them to give more will be unrealistic and will only sentence Nigeria to a prison term of four years if not destroy it beyond the possibility of an early recovery and substantial growth."

PoliticsRe: Obasanjo Warns Buhari Not To Contest In 2019: "Not Capable Of Ruling Nigeria" by ozimec(m): 1:53pm On Jan 23, 2018
stephanie11:
@POLITICSNGR

Ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo has in a 13-page Scathing statement called on the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to bury any plans of recontesting in 2019.

Obasanjo, in a special press statement obtained by PoliticsNGR, titled “The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement”, urged President Buhari to "honourably dismount from the Horse" and join the league of the country’s former leaders whose “experience, influence, wisdom, and outreach can be deployed on the sideline for the good of the country.”

Obasanjo disclosed that he feels disappointed with Buhari's performance. OBJ also wrote a similar letter in 2013 against President Goodluck Jonathan, wrote; “Even the horse rider then, with whom I maintain very cordial, happy and social relationship today has come to realise his mistakes and regretted it publicly and I admire his courage and forthrightness in this regard,”.

“He has a role to play on the sideline for the good of Nigeria, Africa, and humanity and I will see him as a partner in playing such a role nationally and internationally, but not as a horse rider in Nigeria again.”

“The lice of poor performance in government – poverty, insecurity, poor economic management, nepotism, gross dereliction of duty, condonation of misdeed – if not outright encouragement of it, lack of progress and hope for the future, lack of national cohesion and poor management of internal political dynamics and widening inequality – are very much with us today,” he wrote.

“With such lice of general and specific poor performance and crying poverty with us, our fingers will not be dry of ‘blood’,” he added.

OBJ thanked Buhari for the way he handled the Boko Haram crisis but pointed out that he failed to be efficient in other areas. He admitted knowing that Buhari was weak in handling the economy, he went ahead and voted for him because at the time “it was a matter of ‘any option but Jonathan’” and because he thought Mr Buhari would appoint qualified Nigerians to help out in that area.

He slammed Mr Buhari for turning a blind eye to corruption within his government saying it amounted to condonation and cover-up saying whoever is “going to justice must be with clean hands.”

He also berated Mr Buhari for allowing the clashes between herdsmen and farmers to go “sour” and messy saying the endorsement of the President by some governors to seek re-election barely 24 hours after 73 people who were killed by herdsmen in Benue State were given mass burial was “a sad symptom of insensitivity and callousness.”

But Mr. Obasanjo reserved his harshest words for what he described as Mr. Buhari’s clannishness, lack of understanding of the dynamics of politics, and his tendencies to pass the buck of his government’s inadequacies to the immediate past administration.

“But there are three other areas where President Buhari has come out more glaringly than most of us thought we knew about him. One is nepotic deployment bordering on clannishness and inability to bring discipline to bear on errant members of his nepotic court. This has grave consequences on performance of his government to the detriment of the nation. It would appear that national interest was being sacrificed on the altar of nepotic interest. What does one make of a case like that of Maina: collusion, condonation, ineptitude, incompetence, dereliction of responsibility or kinship and friendship on the part of those who should have taken visible and deterrent disciplinary action? How many similar cases are buried, ignored or covered up and not yet in the glare of the media and the public?

“The second is his poor understanding of the dynamics of internal politics. This has led to wittingly or unwittingly making the nation more divided and inequality has widened and become more pronounced. It also has effect on general national security.

“The third is passing the buck. For instance, blaming the Governor of the Central Bank for devaluation of the naira by 70% or so and blaming past governments for it, is to say the least, not accepting one’s own responsibility. Let nobody deceive us, economy feeds on politics and because our politics is depressing, our economy is even more depressing today. If things were good, President Buhari would not need to come in. He was voted to fix things that were bad and not engage in the blame game.”

Buhari and the APC not the Solution to Nigeria's Problem

Mr Obasanjo thus argued that neither Mr Buhari nor his party, the All Progressives Congress hold the solution to the country’s problems. He suggested that Mr Buhari was not healthy enough to withstand the rigour associated with running a country like Nigeria neither does his party capable of providing the answer needed to sail the country through its difficulties.

Mr Obasanjo said Buhari should step down at the end of his first term with honour and dignity and attend to his health and should not listen to the his “self-serving so-called adviserswho would claim that they love him more than God loves him and that without him, there would be no Nigeria say.”

“President Buhari needs a dignified and honourable dismount from the horse. He needs to have time to reflect, refurbish physically and recoup and after appropriate rest, once again, join the stock of Nigerian leaders whose experience, influence, wisdom and outreach can be deployed on the side line for the good of the country. His place in history is already assured. Without impaired health and strain of age, running the affairs of Nigeria is a 25/7 affair, not 24/7.

“I only appeal to brother Buhari to consider a deserved rest at this point in time and at this age. I continue to wish him robust health to enjoy his retirement from active public service. President Buhari does not necessarily need to heed my advice. But whether or not he heeds it, Nigeria needs to move on and move forward,” he said.

“I have had occasion in the past to say that the two main political parties – APC and PDP – were wobbling. I must reiterate that nothing has happened to convince me otherwise. If anything, I am reinforced in my conviction. The recent show of PDP must give grave and great concern to lovers of Nigeria.

“To claim, as has been credited to the chief kingmaker of PDP, that for procuring the Supreme Court judgement for his faction of the Party, he must dictate the tune all the way and this is indeed fraught with danger.

“If neither APC nor PDP is a worthy horse to ride to lead Nigeria at this crucial and critical time, what then do we do? Remember Farooq Kperogi, an Associate Professor at the Kennesaw State University, Georgia, United States, calls it “a cruel Hobson’s choice; it’s like a choice between six and half a dozen, between evil and evil. Any selection or deflection would be a distinction without a difference.” We cannot just sit down lamenting and wringing our hands desperately and hopelessly.

Coalition of Nigerians

Having ruled out the PDP and the ruling APC of possessing the panacea to the malaise that ails the country, Mr Obasanjo therefore called for a movement he termed Coalition of Nigeria, which he offered to be a part of, to wrest power from the present ruling class and lead the country into the path of rebirth.

“We can collectively save ourselves from the position we find ourselves. It will not come through self-pity, fruitless complaint or protest but through constructive and positive engagement and collective action for the good of our nation and ourselves and our children and their children. We need moral re-armament and engaging togetherness of people of like-mind and goodwill to come solidly together to lift Nigeria up. This is no time for trading blames or embarking on futile argument and neither should we accept untenable excuses for non-performance.

“Let us accept that the present administration has done what it can do to the limit of its ability, aptitude and understanding. Let the administration and its political party platform agree with the rest of us that what they have done and what they are capable of doing is not good enough for us. They have given as best as they have and as best as they can give. Nigeria deserves and urgently needs better than what they have given or what we know they are capable of giving. To ask them to give more will be unrealistic and will only sentence Nigeria to a prison term of four years if not destroy it beyond the possibility of an early recovery and substantial growth.

“The development and modernization of our country and society must be anchored and sustained on dynamic Nigerian culture, enduring values and an enchanting Nigerian dream. We must have abiding faith in our country and its role and place within the comity of nations. Today, Nigeria needs all hands on deck. All hands of men and women of goodwill must be on deck. We need all hands to move our country forward.

“We need a Coalition for Nigeria, CN. Such a Movement at this juncture needs not be a political party but one to which all well-meaning Nigerians can belong. That Movement must be a coalition for democracy, good governance, social and economic well-being and progress. Coalition to salvage and redeem our country. You can count me with such a Movement. Last time, we asked, prayed and worked for change and God granted our request. This time, we must ask, pray and work for change with unity, security and progress. And God will again grant us. Of course, nothing should stop such a Movement from satisfying conditions for fielding candidates for elections. But if at any stage the Movement wishes to metamorphose into candidate-sponsoring Movement for elections, I will bow out of the Movement because I will continue to maintain my non-partisan position. Coalition for Nigeria must have its headquarters in Abuja.

“This Coalition for Nigeria will be a Movement that will drive Nigeria up and forward. It must have a pride of place for all Nigerians, particularly for our youth and our women. It is a coalition of hope for all Nigerians for speedy, quality and equal development, security, unity, prosperity and progress. It is a coalition to banish poverty, insecurity and despair. Our country must not be oblivious to concomitant danger around, outside and ahead. Coalition for Nigeria must be a Movement to break new ground in building a united country, a socially-cohesive and moderately prosperous society with equity, equality of opportunity, justice and a dynamic and progressive economy that is self-reliant and takes active part in global division of labour and international decision-making.

“The Movement must work out the path of development and the trajectory of development in speed, quality and equality in the short- medium- and long-term for Nigeria on the basis of sustainability, stability, predictability, credibility, security, cooperation and prosperity with diminishing inequality. What is called for is love, commitment and interest in our country, not in self, friends and kinship alone but particularly love, compassion and interest in the poor, underprivileged and downtrodden.

Your question has been answered but, it seems you prefer argument.
Second or 3rd wife was never recognized as wife rather, as concubine. The bible says the two shall becomes one..not 3 or 4 in Matt. 19:4-5. The reason you have to do restitution is because you were committing adultery and the only mark of true repentance is restitution. Abraham and his children can't be used here as example because they weren't Christians.

Insisting that Miyetti Allah is not a criminal organisation, he likened the group to other socio-cultural organisations like the Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Arewa Consultative Forum, adding that it was formed over 32 years to cater for welfare and advance the growth of Fulani business.

The Sultan, who stated this at the General Assembly of Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace, IDFP, in Abuja, asked, “How is it possible for Fulani to attack settlements or communities to carry out killings of innocent people, destroy property and disappear without trace?”

He rejected the terrorism tag being placed on members of Miyetti Allah, warning that “We should not be labelling everybody a criminal because his brother is a criminal”.

Abubakar continued, “Miyetti Allah doesn’t control any Fulani man. Calling for proscription of Miyetti Allah is equivalent to calling for the proscription of other ethnic organisations like Afenifere, ACF, Ohanaeze and others...

PoliticsRe: 12 Things Buhari Must Do In 2018 - Daily Trust by ozimec(m): 11:28pm On Jan 06, 2018
yns4real:
With a loaded plate, President Muhammadu Buhari certainly has his hands full. But what are some of the most pressing issues the president needs to resolve? Daily Trust gives you some.

President Muhammadu Buhari is getting close to three years in office. His achievements in office are already being examined by admirers and supporters, as well as critics and political adversaries. Although the Daura-born politician intends to be measured by his performance in three key areas (the war against corruption, the fight against insecurity, and the drive to revive the economy), we present to you twelve things he must achieve this year.

1. Finish the Boko Haram war

Though President Buhari has received accolades in the war against the insurgents in the north-east geo-political zone, he must strive to end the Boko Haram war this year. It’s great news to hear that the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole rescued over 2,000 civilians and neutralised Boko Haram insurgents in droves during its operation at Lake Chad Island this week, according to the Theatre Commander, Major General Rogers Nicholas. But ending the war would make Nigerians fully appreciate the government, as pockets of suicide bombings being recorded recently are a blight on the anti-insurgency operation.
Retired Col. Aminu Isah Kontagora, in an interview with Daily Trust, said: “There is a lot of work to be done; be it political, economic and social, to get to the ultimate destination of peace.” He said the current situation required not only the military role, but also the support of the general public.

2. Resettle IDPS

Though Mr. President has established the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative (PCNI), under the chairmanship of retired General T.Y. Danjuma, a lot still needs to be done to address the challenges being faced by the internally displaced persons (IDPs). Alhaji Tijjani Tumsah, Vice Chairman of the PCNI, said recently in Abuja during the monthly Coordination meeting of members of the PCNI and development partners that the needs of displaced persons in camps and host communities, especially in the areas of health and food security, were being tackled.

Tumsah, represented by Brig.-Gen. Habila Vintenaba, Chairman, PCNI’s subcommittee on Peace Building, Security and Stabilization, said that in the areas of shelter and protection, there was an intervention to ensure that the tripartite agreement between Cameroon and Nigeria for the protection, voluntary and safe return of Nigerian refugees in Cameroon was upheld. He said that a lot of interventions were on-going in the health, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, economic recovery, housing and transportation sectors.

He said that the Committee would also receive updates on the development and funding plans for the 2018 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP). Though it is good that there is an on-going effort to address the plight of the IDPs, the lasting solution is for Buhari to resettle the IDPs, and give them at least a semblance of home.

3. Increase tempo and conviction rate of anti-corruption war

The war against corruption will not be deemed successful until people begin to see successful prosecution of people who are involved in high-profile cases. There have been various reports of arrest of prominent personalities but with no conviction. The cases have continued to move slowly in various courts.

If Buhari is to receive a pat on the back, he must ensure that the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC) led by Professor Itse Sagay redoubles efforts, by giving the right advice to ensure accelerated conviction of the corrupt persons.
In July 2017, Sagay said senior lawyers had “turned obstruction and frustration of proceedings on high-profile corruption cases into an art.” He, therefore, advised that the Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) in question should be barred from the court hearings of such cases. He advised the prosecuting counsels in high-profile corruption cases to always apply to reinstate any case struck out for want of prosecution as part of the solution to the problem.

Being one of the things Buhari is known for, the anti-corruption war should be tackled head-on, decisively, and with visible results.

4. Find a lasting solution to herders/farmers clashes

The persistent clashes between farmers and herders must be given due attention this year. The fact that the regular crisis has been given an ethnic colouration makes it very important for the federal government to find a lasting solution. The Anti-Open Grazing Bill, which has been enacted in Benue and Ekiti states, seems not to have served its purpose because of the politicization of the motive behind the law.
The recent killing of dozens of farmers, allegedly by herdsmen, in some communities in Guma and Logo LGAs of Benue State, which forced many to flee their homes, has made it imperative for the federal government to expedite action, and pursue the best system that will solve it once and for all.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who spoke on the killings in Benue State after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, described the incident as a “communal crisis”.

5. Appreciably improve power supply

President Buhari must find a lasting and reliable resolution to the problem of epileptic power supply in the country, to win the trust and confidence of consumers. The work of the electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) must be thoroughly monitored to avoid a situation whereby the consumers will be marginalized unduly through unjustified estimated billing.
Efforts must be made to prevent the kind of incident that happened last Tuesday, which led to the collapse of Nigeria’s power transmission grid, resulting to widespread blackout across the nation. Needless to say, the industrialization of the nation, and the growth of businesses at various levels, depend on this.

6. Avoid another nation-wide fuel scarcity

The federal government must ensure that the fuel scarcity witnessed across the country towards the end of 2017 does not happen in 2018. The scarcity of fuel has always created hardship for the citizenry over the years. Nigerians passed through similar experience under the past PDP-led administration.

Any solution to the perennial shortage of fuel must be considered. That is why the three solutions provided by Minister of State, Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, must be thoroughly considered to prevent any decision that may worsen the plight of the masses.

Kachikwu had said at the public hearing convened on Thursday by the National Assembly that the final solution to the problem was for the nation to put her refineries in good shape in a way that 80 per cent of local consumption of the product should be provided for locally.
Kachikwu said: “One, is for the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) to allow the marketers access forex at the rate of N204 to a dollar as against the official rate of N305 to keep the pump price of fuel per litre at N145. Two, to give room for modulated deregulation where NNPC would be allowed to continue selling at N145 per litre in all its mega stations across the country, while the independent marketers should be allowed to sell at whatever price is profitable to them. Three, to look at the direction of blanket subsidy for all the importers in bridging the gap which would be like going back to a problem that had earlier been solved.”

7. Make significant progress in repairing federal roads and improving rail lines

Many federal roads across the country are in bad condition. The federal government must ensure that all federal roads with budgetary allocations are executed in 2018. The current effort to re-launch the rail system of transportation must be given the needed impetus. Already, Nigerians have started enjoying the rail system from Abuja to Kaduna. This was boosted on Thursday by President Buhari with the commissioning of two locomotives and 10 executive passenger coaches procured by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to be deployed on the Abuja-Kaduna train service.

The Abuja-Kaduna train line service was previously commissioned in July 2016 by President Buhari. It currently runs four trips per day and transports about 1280 passengers daily to and from Abuja and Kaduna. He said the government would further focus on coastal rail from Lagos-Calabar with branches to Benin, Agbor, and Onitsha to Port Harcourt. He also said another standard gauge line will be built from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri with branches to Owerri, Akwa, Abakaliki, Makurdi, Yola, and Damaturu.
The federal government will also focus on Kano-Kazaure, Daura, Katsina, Jibiya to link to Maradi in the Niger Republic as part of regional railway inter-connectivity of the ECOWAS sub-region, he said.

Buhari said the concession for the narrow gauge to General Electric should be completed this year even as he said the railway laws will be amended and regulations strengthened to attract private sector investments into the rail sector.

8. Avoid scandals and mishaps

President Buhari must ensure that the kind of controversy that trailed the appointment of dead Nigerians into the boards of federal ministries, departments and agencies is avoided in 2018. This requires competence and professionalism on the path of officials handling the appointments and other similar issues in the presidency.

9. End internal rifts in government

Mr. President must ensure that the internal wrangling among his officials is sorted out early enough before it gets out of hand. The public show of wit between the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Kachikwu and Group General Manager, NNPC, Mr Maikanti Baru, as well as the one between the Director-General of Department of State Service (DSS) and the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) remains an embarrassment to the Buhari-led administration. The scenario must be solved, for a hitch-free 2018, and for the sakes of some earlier-mentioned points.

10. Revitalise the APC

President Buhari must ensure that he shows more interest in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the leader of the party. His seemingly lukewarm attitude towards the party won’t assist his administration as it portrays him as a personality with little knowledge of party administration.

At some point, the ruling party could not even pay their electricity bill, a development that shows that the presidency is not taking proper care of the party. The financial fortune of the party improved after the introduction of a monthly meeting with the party’s governors.

11. Woo back South-west APC and powerful chieftain Tinubu

The south-west APC will surely play a significant role if Mr President will secure the party’s presidential ticket and win again in 2019. Therefore, he has to get the support of the region, including the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The current indication shows that the president might have got the support of the south-west with the recent defection of key political figures in Oyo State to the APC. This is seen as prelude to other defections in other states in the south-west apparently to support the re-election of President Buhari. More needs to be done.

12. Win APC’s presidential nomination

President Buhari has to ensure that he secured the presidential ticket of the APC this year. Already, most leaders of the ruling party have been passing a vote of confidence on Buhari.

Engr. Segun Oni, who is the Deputy National Chairman of the ruling APC, said in an interview with Daily Trust that God has endorsed Buhari for 2019.

Asked to speak his mind on whether President Buhari could still get the party ticket and go ahead to win the 2019 presidential election, Oni said, “This is my personal opinion. And I have said it once. The way the president was able to overcome his health challenge is a miracle. And the time that was done, as far as I’m concerned, is like an endorsement of God. So, if he wants to run, I’m sure a lot of people will see him as already God-endorsed for the job again.”

I'm not really happy the way Nigeria politics is going. It's becoming too dangerous and unhealthy for our economy.
We shouldn't keep protecting and promoting one mans business at the detriment of others because he supports the government. Everyone must not support you, allow their legitimate business to thrive because it will help boost the economy of the nation. Wade into their dispute, settle their differences and support both businesses to grow. It pains me when I see government taking side in a matter like this. Many genuine businesses had been frustrated in the past by the government because of useless politics and politicians.
We can't continue like this, many people today who do not want to do politics are afraid to do business because they may never succeed if they don't support the government of the day. How can we attract investors?

Comic! grin grin grin

See him posting pics of cities with erosion crises whereas his own city of Benue was not only sacked by flood last September but is flooded currently with the blood of innocent men, women and children! Shameful!

These marketers are wasting their time asking for tax holidays and all what. Buhari is hard of hearing , unteachable and not a proactive person.

My dear fellow Nlanders, I know that many of us love this nation and want her to be great. Unfortunately, that cannot happened going by our attitudes towards one another. The rate at which TRIBALISM is being propagated especially, in this forum is something that should give every well meaning individual serious concern.
What's this hate between the Igbos , the Yorubas and Hausa/ Fulanis? What are we dragging, can't we emulate our forefathers, our past heroes who only saw themselves as Nigerians rather than Hausa, Igbo or Yoruba?
I am not here to blame anybody for the tribal wars that has been going on since rather, I am here to plead with my brothers; Aminu, Emeka Biodun and the rest of us to please end this tribalism and hate. We are brothers and we need one another to succeed and be great. Corrupt politicians are having a feast on us because we are divided along tribal, ethnic and religious lines. It's only in unity that we can fight them and that's is why they never want to see us united and unfortunately, we are falling to their antics.
However, I suggest that from now on, let every Nlander stop responding to any post or comments found to contain tribal sentiments or hate of any kind in other to shame and discourage the individual from further attempt. Also let the Moderator take appropriate actions against such individuals. I believe this will go a long way to discourage tribalism and hate speech in this forum.
Moreover, Let's promote love and unity, let's promote our cultural diversities which make us a great Nation.
Finally, let's always demand for good governance, critize govt when not doing well and support govt when performing irrespective of our party, tribe and religious affiliations. Together we make our Nation great! Thank you

Since the Innoson and Gtbank brouhaha broke out, I've been curious about the Bank's position especially as they have been silent.

Could this be because they were truly guilty of wrong doing or, is the Bank being blackmailed by Innoson- you know guerilla tactics? If this your so called findings are true state of the whole matter, I am very sure that gtbank won't waste time to release the information especially, now the whole matter is attracting serious attention. Why do they remain silent and opted to speak through an unknown third party like Op?
Anyway, I believe that the senate committee will do a thorough job in they investigation of the matter, truth will surely come out.

There are many poor people around his neighborhood, even in his village who go to bed without food, he can start by helping them.
