There is no charge on transactions worth 500k and below! So how does this concern the poor market women!
I know Nigerians will find a way to circumvent these charges, if someone wants to make a deposit of 1 million naira, they will simply divide it into 3 places smiley

Depends on your fathers property and also the lawyer.
First you need to justice department to get a form which all your fathers properties would be listed.
OK, I heard they charge a percentage (12% or so), not a fixed amount.

Do you need other siblings of your father to accent to the Letter of Administration or just the next-of-kin (which I'm)?

what do you sell? Because I am sure 97% of market women don’t make 2-3% on any product they sale
This government is just insensitive and stupid
Sometimes those market women make as little as #10 on #2500 naira carton of good and this is why they always run down if their husband isn’t supporting them financially
I think a market woman that can singlehandedly make a deposit of N500k at once isn't that poor.

It's not luxury tax.

It's policy implementation tax, aimed at encouraging cashless transactions.

People really need to stop moving bundles of cash around.
OK, if it is to discourage cash transactions, so do these charges apply to amount deposited by cheque?

If someone issued you a cheque of 5 million naira, that means you would have to forgo about 5% of that to your banker before being deposited into your account.

It took me almost 5 months. Partly because of how to raise funds to pay for some charges
Thank you for your prompt reply.

Like how much are we talking about to collect the Letter Of Administration: what is the total cost?

I just need the estimate, thanks for your reply!

Good morning Nairalanders.

Few months ago I sought for help from this forum in my post titled "I'm About To Lose My Dad's Contributory Pension Bankers/Lawers Help", of which I received good comments.

One of those comments was for me to approach the court for a "Letter Of Administration" if I'm the next of kin or the beneficiary to my dad's properties.

After a long process at the court, I was finally issued with the said letter. I then took the letter to the bank where my dad was operating after being advised to open an Estate Account.

I then applied for Estate Account, but up till today they (bank) have refused to open that account giving flimsy excuse always. I'm beginning to suspect foul play from the bank.

Can I open such account in another bank while presenting the bank my dad was operating with account number for the money to be transfered in or sue the bank while they pay for damages?

HELP!!!
Hello, I've responded to your question if you check my previous post. I just want to ask:

Please how much time did it take and cost to get your Letter Of Administration issued?

You cannot come out and say you do not know the reasons they gave you. That is the only way you can get help. Go back and listen to the reasons why the account has not been opened. Update your post here and we can advise accordingly. Your post is very vague and misleading.
Forget about reasons, reasons are as cheap as water for these corporate organizations. If he is one important personality, they would have opened the account immediately after the Letter Of Administration. Do you know what the LOA means concerning the estate of a deceased person? Whoever has the LOA in possession has the exclusive authority to administer such estate, unless someone else is challenging the LOA by filing for a Caveat.

CrimeRe: Ladies Stage Peaceful Protest In The Streets Of Port Harcourt by pacespot(m): 5:54am On Sep 17, 2019
Asking prostitutes to be killed is like asking all yahoo boiz to be killed when they are caught by efcc. Though some of our ladies should find a more dignified job to do rather than seeking out men who will pay them in exchange for sex, but killing women for such act is so barbaric and inhumane.

Well, this serial killer might have his own personal reason for doing so! You can't tell what the person who is behaving in such manner has experienced?

Why won't these guys go after politicians?

I will be happy to wake up to news as "Gunmen kidnap a senator on his way to work" or "Gunmen abducts Govenor's wife in a wedding ceremony"
There is sense in what you said. These senior adclvocates and other Nigerian politicians have been kidnapping the future of youth of this country for decades. That's why I don't petty these greedy randy wicked old men when I read a news such as this.

If you can successfully break into the psyche of a rich man, you will know that this world we live in is far more dangerous than you can imagine. It is like the poor should die alone so that the rich can enjoy a more flamboyant lifestyle they are in. Imagine someone with a golden toilet! I wonder what the humanity will become when the stage of immortality is achieved, through breakthrough in science and technology.
Foreign AffairsRe: President Ramaphosa Booed At Mugabe's Burial (Photos) by pacespot(m): 12:28am On Sep 15, 2019
South Africans have exclusive rights to their country. If Nigerians want a country as good as South Africa to live in, they should change their way of life and build a better Nigeria for all. The level of nepotism, corruption, lack of sympathy for others, greed, wickedness, bitterness, ethnic division, religion jingoism, and more in Nigeria is much worse than any act of xenophobia in South Africa. That is why the international community are not seeing such attacks on foreigners in South Africa as a matter of concern.

If Nigerians have no love for their motherland, why would they do for another man's land?

timesup234:
Yes everyone would love to live there until they get there and find out it is a mirage. The biggest shame will be leaving there without achieving anything. That's the shame over one million Nigerians are living with in America. They can't come back because they are stuck. If you ask Americans to pay cash for their cars 99% of them won't be able to afford it. Americans are broke and miserable and 95% of them will die in debt. If in 2019 Nigerians don't know an average Nigerian is richer than a middle class American then they are the dumbest donkey on earth
Last I checked American external debt, it is almost 200% of the GDP. It means if you sell the whole of Americaa dn economy, it is not enough to pay off their debts.

That's Lagos house for you.

It's not the agent's fault but you that gave agent your budget which is within 300k. You can't expect agent to take you to a decent house with 300k(probably miniflat) around surulere

Agent will only take you to where your budget can afford.
Are you telling me that this dilapidated structure is worth 300k in Lagos?

How much is the average salary of lagosians then?

ValCon888:
In as much as Nigeria may be liable, I do not think the judgment is fair. Telling a country to pay $9.6 bn as 'future profit' for work that has not been done is quite reckless and irresponsible from the judge.

If it was a Nigerian company against the British government the judge would never give such an award of almost $10bn.

If Brexit is giving them headache, they should face the EU or Trump and stop targeting defenceless 3rd world countries with stupid, reckless, and senseless judgments.

We must resist this at all cost.
Exactly, I am with Nigerian government on this. These colonialists are like vampires.

$9.6 bn for what exactly? Did we commit a modern slavery or are we the ones responsible for the Holocaust?
SportsRe: FIFA Plans To Replace Linesmen With VAR And Robots by pacespot(m): 6:59pm On Aug 25, 2019
To me, this is needless. Linesmen hardly commit blunders unlike the ref. Football will become too robotic and automated.

I think this FIFA president infantino is trying too hard to imprint his legacy on football, something he will be remembered for.

Some people will come here and blame buhari for this, when the psychic of an average Nigerian is full of crave for opulence but with zero tolerance towards hardwork and resilience.

The even bigger problem is 95% of Nigerians don't realize they're corrupt. Their corrupt practices have become a norm and way of life.

Just imagine where some sacked workers (due to lack of discipline) begging the governor to reinstate them yet, some folks on here were bashing pple that supported the move. sad
Exactly my thoughts. Nigerians are committing fraud and corruption and they tag it as genuine hustle. Imagine going to parastatals and public offices, you will see how the workers are bagging the politicians, same workers that just demanded bribes from you some minutes ago.
