justwise:False. Countries do not routinely share visa applicant details. You can apply for US, schengen or Irish visa but obviously you wont declare your deportation. I personally know 2 people who have had UK home office wahala. First guy was deported. Went to the high commission and applied for a UK visa with another name (before finger printing), collected 6 months, then 2 years and finally a 5 year visa. By the time the 5 year visa expired, the finger printing process had started so he has never bothered to reapply for a UK visa. Since then he has been to over 20 countries including the US and several Schengen countries. He has a house here he rents out so anytime he needs to come over, he flies to Ireland on his Irish visa and people wey sabi can fill in the rest. 2nd guy ran away from a police investigation and returned to naija. Kept coming in on his 2 year visa. When he reapplied, they pointed out the error of his ways in running from plod and They kukuma dash am 10yr ban. Since then he has obtained a student visa and studied in western Europe and has also applied for and obtained a 2yr US visa. |
Bullshit. Maybe it was the bloggers first time of flying. The flight took over an hour (maybe 65 minutes) instead of the scheduled 55 minutes. And so what? Flight times are estimates. I am not surprised at the bloggers rubbish story. I am more intrigued by the moderators putting this rubbish on frontpage. A passengers opinion of a flight is not sufficient evidence that a plane is faulty and will crash. Reminds me of the morons at Channels TV interviewing an anonymous employee of Dana after the unfortunate crash. The anonymous employee had such a poor command of the English language and had not one aviation terminology in their vocabulary. She just kept repeating 'the plane engine was faulty' |
Chiefpriest1:What is the difference between a trader working on the derivatives desk at UBS and a man who goes to play Baba Ijebu? Nothing! They are both betting on outcomes of events they have no control over. For some reason the guy at UBS would be seen as a respectable member of society but the guy going to Baba Ijebu will be viewed as some kind of outcast. Double standards me say. If you dont think they are both gamblers, ask Kweku Adobili. |
Bought £1 at N290 - GT Bank exchange rate |
Tosinng:Wednesday 17 December |
EGUNMOTORS:Yes!!! Wa sèrè. Christmas go sweet DIE! I upped my bid from 12.5% to 13% for 364 days after the CBN announcement. My hunch was correct. The analysts were way off! |
obiak4:Exactly! But they are the analysts/experts so I no go argue. 364 day Tbill was 12.4% last auction before the rate rise and devaluation, yet they reckon we should bid maximum 11.2% for 364 day Tbill. Since the economic downturn of 2008 and Lehman Brothers collapse, I dont trust anything these analysts say. How come the thousands of analysts working in the major banking corporations didnt see the recession coming infact many of these organisatiins were consumed by it. |
Can anyone recommend a real online platform I can use to trade Nigerian stocks. Thanks |
feelamong:Do you use a 'real' online trading platform to execute your orders or do you leave instructions with your brokers? |
Seun:Tomorrow Wednesday 3 December |
weimar:Chei! You are making a nicca get greedy. I have already asked the bank to up my bid rate to 13%. Hmnnnnn. Decisions o! An extra 3 - 5% is worth hundreds of thousands of naira to me... Maybe I should just sit out this auction. But then is a jump from 12.4% to 16% really feasible? |
angelo82:Bro. That report long die and I am not too sure what to make of it. I already put in a request for 364 day Tbills on 3 Dec at 12.5%. Does this report mean I should increase my bid rate to 20%? ![]() |
N3.78 close pf play yesterday. |
After seeing his picture I am sure I have seen this man quite recently either at Squires on Dagenham Heathway or Lekki Lounge in Barking. This kind of confirms Otigbas claim that there was no prosecution. |
Chillisauce:This is a good point. This is something I put into consideration. I changed my money at N248 and if I wanted to buy now it is N280. The good thing for me is I have no plans to change back to £s anytime soon. Like I said earlier, the money I have invested in T bills will have just sat in my account (If my fingers didnt get itchy) or more than likely would have been spent on a car. I mentioned treasury bills to some people on a car forum. They obviously thought it was a scam that you can get 10-13% in Nigeria and up to 22% in Ghana. Some wanted to have a go but I let them know that because I am originally from Nigeria, I can afford to leave my money indefinitely in Nigeria but they on the other hand would be short term investors and there was a chance they may not get back the full capital due to exchange rate variations |
justwise:Please learn to read and understand. The man is/was a nurse at the Home Office. He is not in the position to deny/grant visas. IMHO this is no crime. The speed at which such an old story was moved to the front page without any replies makes me suspect you are the whistleblower |
Who be this whistleblower sef. Bad belle pipu. Lef the man na! |
nitrogen:My bills mature soon and I'll be putting in a bid at 12.25% on 4 Dec. I would have gone a bit higher, say 13% but I need to be successful otherwise Xmas go dull. Thanks to Feelamong for opening this thread and to the others for their contributions. This thread has financially blessed me and has helped me to learn to save money. I would have used the money I invested in Tbills to buy a new car which I didnt need and it would have lost half its value by now. Instead this thread prompted me to do something different. I took the plunge and went to Naija and I have not one regret. I have made just short of N1 million over the past 18 months and my capital still dey kankpe (subject to no civil war) I still get that itch for a new car but my money being tied down and so far away means na for dream and picture I go dey drive that new car. |
Anyone got the rates from the last auction on Wed 19? CBN last updated the treasury bill page on their website in September. What a shame. Giant of Africa. |
MacluvPH:You are either a slowpoke or you live in the hintherlands. When I was in uni, After any cult clash, the police will arrive about a day or two later and pick up anyone walking in the vicinity of where the clashes took place or a dead body was found. |
seye4nii:If you already have an account in one of the sensible banks, you should be able to put in a request in time for the auction on 19 November. I am assuming you plan to change pounds into Naira and deposit into the account. You must have your request to buy submitted by Monday 17 Nov and the funds must be in your account by Tuesday 18 Nov. If you want to be sure of success, ask the bank to use their bid rate. If you dont have an account yet and you are planning to open one, you wont make next weeks auction. Earliest auction you can reasonably make is Wed 4 December. |
I dont know this chap but I read on Forbes that Folorunso Alakija (Africa's richest woman) was one of the top speakers at the conference he was to host and was headed to. Now we all know that Alakija was a tailor who miraculously became Africa's richest woman in about 10 years. Without having invented anything noteworthy or patented any medicine that cures a debilitating disease, I think it is safe to conclude that her money isnt clean. I am disappointed she was listed as one of the top speakers at a Christian conference. They may as well invite Abramovic next year |
Missed Arik from LHR to LOS due to one stupid taxi driver wey go carry me pass the worst possible route. The annoying thing is I 'advised' him we should go through the city but he insisted on taking his prefered route. As the guy na senior Naija bros, I no too argue. When himself see say the traffic wey we enter no get part 2, he parked his car at the side of the road and escorted me on public transport. We took the train, Tube, Heathrow Express and then Heathrow Connect but by the time I got there, check in was closed I begged the check in staff and she gave me a boarding pass but wouldnt check in my luggage. This wasnt of any use as my mate was getting married in 2 days and all his and the groomsmen gear was with me so I needed my luggage to go with me. Arik werent flying for the next 2 days so I had to buy a new one-way ticket with a different airline for the next morning for £550 and also paid £100 for a Premier Inn. The most annoying thing is I bought the ticket like 6 months earlier to get a cheap price but I ended up spending business class money on 2 tickets. I swore never to use Arik again but I just bought Arik again yesterday for a flight 6 months away. If you see the price difference between Arik and BA/Virgin, you self go fear fear. |
Do you not wonder why the West never get involved in popular revolutions against sit tight leaders in sub Saharan Africa? People like Museveni - 28yrs, Biya - 39yrs (including 7 as PM) and Compaore - 27yrs are puppets of the west so they get a free pass. They will however fight those that refuse to be their puppets e.g Gaddaffi and Mugabe (I dont support these ones being in power forever though) Compaore under direct orders from France assasinated Sankara because he had achieved in less than 4 years what no one else could do in the 23 years since independence. France couldnt just let its control on tiny Upper Volta slip away, they had to get rid of the man of the people. Africans are smarter and more enlightened now so I am confident that after the exit of the current crop of sit tight leaders either by natural death or popular revolutions, the era of dictators in civillian clothing in Africa will be consigned to the history books. |
obiak4:Sorry jare my guy. I opened the wrong PDF. The stop rates are in the doc you attached. That doc is really informative. Is there anyway I can be added to the mailing list. If not, can you do us a favour on here and post the doc on this thread on the day after every TB auction Stop rates on 23/10/14 courtesy Obiak4 91 day - 9.8% 182 day - 10.2% 364 day - 11.25% Regards |
obiak4:Guy no vex but na rubbish you attach na! Thats just the auction date schedule |
careerwoman:You dont honestly expect GT to carry out the purchase on your behalf for free. N375 is inconsequential! |
perewesley:There is absolutely no link between the 2 |
perewesley:N3.21 today. If I could short this.... Will definitely fall back to sub N1 as there is nothing driving this bullish run. Just speculation. |
Does anyone know if there are any share spreadbetting companies in Nigeria? I need to go short on this share. Currentky trading at N3.21 |
Oduduwaboy:Exactly and its not a bad thing. I just want to advice those claiming it not to rely on prayers only but to visit their nearest fertility clinic to learn about the many options that are available to them. |
A lot of people dont get it. Its not about her having her own domain name. It is about plagiarism. Even if she gets her own website tomorrow, goes back online and continues as she has always done, she will be shut down again. She needs her own original articles. Maybe user submitted like WSHH and the user gets a cut. |
