http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/153988.stm An old article in which the BBC depicts the US as the United States of Murder. So what is all this nonsense about BBC having an agenda agianst Africa? The BBC world service has dedictaed channels for news from Africa. The BBC even helped your country confirm that your president was alive. If not for that clip on the BBC hausa service only God knows what would have happened. The BBC is an independednt establishment and can broadcast what ever it likes as long as it is true information. It is not in the business of image laundering. CNN must have received millions of dollars for the Heart of Africa campaing it ran on behalf of the Nigeria government. |
Busy Body Your mother is the ignoramus Spin it as you like but it is a known fact that the odd person you may see eating from bins on the streets of a town or city in the UK is a drug addict whose decision to take drugs is a personal one. Drugs are very expensive and your attempt to spin it the other way round that homeless people who find themselves broke and on the streets, turn to drugs and end up eating from bins is very far from the truth. It costs less to stay in a hostel per day than to get a daily drug fix. |
Yes he is dumb. Just because you met him and think he is smart doesn’t necessarily mean he is smart. After all they say; in a country of blind men the one eyed man is king. If he was a proper diplomat and as smart as you claim he will know there are some things a diplomat doesn’t say. While I am not against him trying to defend your country, his trying to draw comparisons between people eating from bins in London and Lagos was dumb! |
Your dumb ambassador to the UK declared 'It is not unusual to see people (not Nigerians) in London eating from dustbins'. Your dumb illiterate ambassador should be able to differentiate between normal hard working men and women scavenging in Olusosun not through choice but as a result of the hopless situation they are in and your drug addict fiend, who through personal choice picks food from dustbins in London. I will like this dumb ambassador to tell me where in London or the UK you can find what obtains in Olusosun and I,ll personally go there and film a documentary for NTA to broadcast. |
Nigeria is a joke! 36000 out of 40000 are awaiting trial and these governors think executing 300 condemned prisoners will decongest the prisons? While I support the death penalty in cases of murder I wont be suprised if half of these condemned prisoners are innocent. |
too many |
@ superboi Do you know what brought down the US Airways plane on the Hudson? A bird strike. Bird strikes are dangerous and thats that! |

@ Kobikwelu I stopped going on the Arsenal thread on matchdays becuase the only 'fans' on there are the type you described. You are one of the very few sensible people on Nairaland who see things at Arsenal objectively. Thanks for your input. |

Dummies, Like anyone at Arsenal has the balls to sack Arsene. You are all wasting your time here when they are begging the man behind closed doors to extend his contract. |
@ Panafrican What are you on about? abi them mix diesel inside your igbo? African Union should get involved because a British citizen of Nigeian extraction got shot be another black person in London? Damn! Black on Black crime, |
I believe I can see some Hebrew text in the powerpoint slides. This is just propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran. If it isnt why is that these heartless child killers were so kind to put some padding under the boys arm? I would have thought it would be more painful if his hand was left in direct contact with the road. Anyone that believes this is a dummy. |
spot on! |
Makes a lot of sense but will it happen in that stink hole? I wont bet on it Phuck Naija! |
These guys remind me of my dads former driver. He lived in Ajegunle in one room with his wife and 4 kids. He had to be at my house by 0600 which meant he woke up at 0400 (Enough times when he entered one chance buses). He brought my dad back home at about 2200 which meant he got back to his house at aroun 2330. He did the same thing Monday to Saturday for over 20 years. When I was younger I didnt understand but now as an adult I wouldnt want even my worst enemy to live like that. Naija is very unfair. Phuck Naija! |

If that is really his car, I hope my man was wearing his seat belt otherwise, |
@ VPG You can only feel what I feel if you were in my shoes. Do you know how it feels to lose a friend to an accident that should never have happened? Seeing your beautiful sister witha a scar she got from an accident that should never have happened? Bruv, you will have to walk a mile in my shoes to understand where I am coming from. Naija show me! |
Same thing happened to my sis. She was in a car that ran into a staionary molue in Iganmu. Thank God for her life but she still has the scars from the accident. Then I lost my roommate from Uni when he ran into a staionary 18 wheeler in Ketu. I hate almost everything associated with Naija but I dey feel Da Grin well well even though I don old finish. I hope say the guy recover and blows up just like Kanyeezy did after the crash! Phuck Naija! |
I knew about this about 6 years ago. I know 'Neil' and the guy try o! I thought the idea was dead and buried. Well done Neil. If it still follows the same story that was being put together back then, then It is a simply a documenatary about Kanu overcoming poverty and a heart disease to become one of the best footballers to have come out from Africa. |
Naija, One of the most useless countries in the world. Policemen at the entrance to a local government office once threatened to shoot me because I just walked in and didnt greet them. I had a similar experience long ago when the soldiers at a NEPA office close to my house seized my black boots with Texas Steer boldly inscribed on them claiming it was military issue. I walked barefooted to my mums shop which wasnt very far away and reported to her. My Mum being a no-nonsense woman went back with me to the NEPA office, told the soldiers off and made sure I got my boots back. This is off topic but it is ironic that it was the soldiers from that NEPA office were the ones who helped dislodge armed robbers from my house some months later. After the armed robbers had gained entrance I jumped the fence and ran to a police checkpoint near my house. The policemen were afraid and wasted some time then decided to ask the soldiers at the NEPA office for help. They obliged without any questions. The soldiers followed us to my house and as the robbers sighted them, they decided to leave, the soldiers shot at the robbers as they left while the policemen spectated from behind cover. The soldiers even chased after the robbers. After the robbers made their escape, the soldiers told the police to take it from their and immediately returned to the NEPA office. They asked for absolutely nothing! From That day on I started to respect soldiers and knew they could have been some of the finest in the world if it wasnt that Naija was so 4ked. |
I am enjoing this disccussion. Please stop the personal attacks cause you guys sound very intelligent. @ Rossike I noticed you quoted http://www.thefreelibrary.com/The+rise+and+rise+of+Nigeria's+middle+class.-a0210057084 but yet you say we shouldnt believe (pinch of salt) anything we read that originates from the west. Could it not be the case that this story about 50 million middle class Nigerians was put out there for an ulterior motive? Please discuss. Cheers. |
@ Kitaun Na trailer go kill ya papa and if he is dead, the trailer go kill ya mother. if she is also dead, then trailer must surely kill any memeber of ur lowlife immediate family. Olshi oloriburuku, omo ale. Make ur life no better. Foooking bastard |
Tribalism is such a big problem in nigeria. I thought people of our generation i.e under 40 didnt have this attitude but Nairaland has opened my eyes. I grew up in naija and had friends and interacted with people from all parts of Nigeria and I for once didnt take their tribes into consideration. |
I know a guy who drives a taxi for Addison Lee in the UK and he built a house in Naija a few years ago and also has a house in London. |

Hello Zabut I do not doubt your story but the figures kind of dont add up. I have very good knowledge of call center operations and have even worked for one of the companies you listed. You say electricity costs you £300 a month, How many seats do you have in you UK call center? You say your broadband in Pakistan costs £30/month. I am assuming you use VOIP and I doubt that a £30 connection will be enough to run a call center but then again this could be a 2 person call center you are talking about. cheers. |
