Nigerians are truly daft and with short memories. At no point in that statement has Reuters admitted that the video is fake, they have withdrawn the story (temporarily I would guess) because the Nigerian authorities have 'raised concerns' about it's date and location.

I don think any member of the public has seen the video but didnt Al Jazeera show several videos of these types of heinous acts being committed by the JTF during the capture and murder of Mohammed Yusuf, Baba Fugu Mohammed and several young men in the same Maiduguri.

Olive oils are bought outside and brought in for prayers...not the pastors selling them.
Pictures are not sold by the pastors either!! Someone snaps a pastor, makes an enlargement and puts ut up for sale..another believes it can do miracle, buys it n puts it at home..how is that the pastors doing?
That's my simple opinion, but then, maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not.

Without the gullible flock that have been conditioned, these so called pastors wouldnt sell a copy. Why are these books mostly sold in church corridors, church retreats and their website? Why dont they get Waterstone to stock these books or advertise them to ordinary folks who have Kindles?

I know this church and a quick look on their website clearly shows olive oil being sold for over double the price you'll find it in you regular cornerstore.

This church dey my hood before before na! VPA on Thames Road. Bus 387 from Barking. Magas go always pay. Funny enough I paid the tithe from my sons naming ceremony collection to the church. I dont attend the church and dont pay tithes but only paid that cos it was for my a baby who cant make decisions and since I didnt attend any church at the time, I just paid it to the closest church I could find.

About 15 years ago, back in the hood, I took my freshly painted 1982 Peugeot 504 to see my friend who lived opposite one of these Jakande primary schools. You know those schools where the classroom walls only go halfway up and you have to carry your chair and desk to school on your head.

After my short visit, I walk out with my friend to see that someone had scribbled ''The boy is going'' on the panel just below the D pillar of my car. I was livid and automatically assumed that it was a student from the school opposite.

In my rage and without thinking through, I asked my friend that we go to the school and try to fish out the culprit. My friend said he was 100% sure the culprit didnt come from the school. I argued with him and said the sentence was something a school child would write and since he lived 10 meters across the road from the school, it only made sense that the culprit more than likely came from the school. My friend replied; No child in that school can write a complete sentence (said in jest whilst bemoaning the poor state of education in such schools)

That made me laugh uncotrollably and I soon forgot about the damage to my car and was shortly on my way after cleaning the tears from eyes which resulted from laughing so hard.

Nigeria, a country where Halloween is not celebrated is one of the worst 20 countries in the world to live in. The UK, where Halloween is celebrated is one of the top 20 countries in the world to live in. Go figure.......

I dont 'celebrate' Halloween. I just partake in the activities. Hell, I dont even know the story behind it and I dont wish to know. All I know is my kids dress up, go door to door, shout trick or treat and get some sweets. Kids knock on my door, I open the door slowly, it creaks, the hallway is dark, I jump out, shout arghhhhh, give them some sweets and they are on their way. The next day it is all forgotten and life carries on.

Imagine some silly Nigerians in my hood, opening the door to tell us that they do not celebrate Halloween? Why do I have to know this? Just keep your damn door shut you overrighteous pr.i.ck. One even tried to preach to my wife last year.

I am sorry the memories wil rtemain forever. You may think about it less as time goes on but the events will still play a part in your everyday life. The 3 incidents I mentoned were not as serious as this posters experience. it was just your regular armed hoeminvasion with some gun but attacks which left injuries requiring stitches. They happened like some 17 years ago and I have been out of the hellhole for 10 years but till date, I still wake up every night to scan outside my window even though I live in a relatively safe neighbourhood (a well fed 12 year old can break down my door with one kick and there are no metal bars on the window!)
