Another bribery towards the Ruga. Settlement?

I have one pressing question unrelated to the topic. Why is it that the govt is leaving the whole land mass in the north to go site nuclear power plants in the southern state where they have gas readily available and within a short distance?

This to me is another attempt at lording it over the south by locating dangerous technology in the south which has better prospect of alternative but pumping gas up north to power plants.

Not a big fan of the president but this one actually makes sense. Nuclear reactors need water - lots of water - to stay cool and prevent a nuclear meltdown alla Chernobyl and we all know much of the North is drier than people's wallets the day before payday. Seeing as any meltdown would affect more or less the whole country on some level, it would be better to have them in the south.

If they are ready to renegotiate this union for the sake of their cows, then awesome! Let the North have a country of their own and have as many Ruga settlements and Fulani as they want, let us in the South be by ourselves in peace.

I will clearly state that the Ultimatum is well deserved. Many quoted me on Nairaland saying "RUGA should be done up North ONLY". Fine! And now they are also telling you to go trade in your region. Anybody that needs your product would come and buy in your region.

I think its fair with all honesty. If a Fulani or Hausa man is limited to trade in certain parts of the country, then I think other tribes should be limited to trading in there own region too.

I feel does that came for head when I was supporting RUGA can now find a better resolution to the impending doom that stares at us at present.

Nobody said the Fulani shouod not trade outside the North. Just that if they want to trade, they should do it like everyone else. They need land, the buy land. The need water, they create boreholes. They need electricity, they buy generators with their money. Why should the government be giving handouts to one tribe for free? Are the Igbo traders in the North getting free land or free shops?

There is no rape apologists on nairaland , but people that use their brain .There is something in law called innocent till found guilty, that's if you understand .No one is supporting rape, but rather justice.
Nairaland forum is not the best way to handle rape case , and trying to shame the said pastor is either not the way . Things should be done properly , she should approach the relevant authorities to seek justice ,instead of social media if she really had the proof .

It seems this designer pastor actually had a bite, maybe consensual but with a MINOR/UNDER AGE at the time.
Having sex with a minor/under age followed by accusation of rape is a serious matter which is hard to get by. The whole thing sounds like a girl wey quick open eyes but later regret her actions and realizing she has an advantage to change the tune of the story.

However you frame it, it is still rape. Sex with a minor is statutory rape. Don't get it twisted.

What is the primary case? Rape. Who is the victim? Who is the perpetrator? What stops the victim from filing their lawsuit?

The aim is a media trial. From all indications they don’t want to confront the pastor in court. It appears they’d settle for mud slinging and cyber bullying.

Addressing the situation by slamming the Dakolos with defamation will not clear the name of the Pastor. Only the rape lawsuit can clear or damn him.

You want to hang him? Give him the rope. Give him a rape trial.

It will clear his name because then, Busola would have to prove that what she's saying is true.

An original case does not prevent other suits from being filed. If the preacher believes he is being accused wrongly, he should file a defamation suit.

Up until today, Busola has not reported the case at any police station.

Who will come out when the proponent of their movement has not taken the necessary legal steps to seek redress?

Neither has Fatoyinbo filed a defamation suit against any of the women accusing him.

The Dakolos are doing well for themselves but I don't think commiting their resources in a long, drawn out lawsuit against someone richer and more connected than they are is a smart move. Lawsuits are expensive, in case you guys don't know.

First off, I still don't know who Shola whoever is. You said she lied against an Uber driver - someone she felt she could easily get away with lying against. Biodun Fatoyinbo is not an Uber driver. He is a popular, powerful, well-connected person. If you are saying something about such people, you best know what you're talking about because they have more than enough resources to challenge you every step of the way.

I finished my submission by saying the man could very well be innocent, so I've not concluded that she's not lying - I only pointed out why it's easy for me to believe her.

You, on the other hand, for whatever reason, have concluded that she's lying and she's just out to bring your bro down.

Why is it easy for some of us to believe Busola Dakolo?

Unlike the previous ladies, Busola is not an unknown person. And she has a lot to lose if all of this turns out to be false. She staked her entire reputation by coming forward with this story. What person is willing to risk all they are and have built themselves to be for a lie?

Well, let's keep watching. As I've said, it could very well turn out that the preacher is innocent but there is certainly something to look into here

I have many victims of rape who shared their misery and pains with me but had moved on. Do you know that one of the Ibru's daughter was raped in the presence of her boyfriend? Did you also know that she had moved on?. I hate rapist with passion however I can't be sentimental to judge a person because someone wants to pull the other down. I suspect a misunderstanding between the victim, victim's spouse and the accused. These days with modern technology, anything can happen. Since the nyemar's rape case, I find it difficult to believe the victims because the word rape has been abused by many. You mentioned Neymar. Neymar cleared his name by himself! What has Mr. Biodun been doing since Ese Walters came out with her accusations? Each time, he doesn't even put it as an accusation on his person (which is what it is) but as an accusation on the Church (which it's not. There are different accusations in the direction of his church organization but that's a separate matter). This man is using the church and silence to defend himself each time, instead of providing proof of his innocence. See, if this was the first accusation, I might be more disposed to giving the benefit of the doubt. It's not the first or the second. It's the third! If your neighbor is accused of armed robbery by three different, unrelated people, wouldn't you start getting suspicious?

By the way, it is the height of insensitivity to insist that victims of rape should just "move on". It's the height of disrespect to them and their right to take time to heal from this injury to their mental and physical and emotional health. But It's easy for you to say because you're not a victim of rape. It's only a man who has never been robbed that says armed robbers are not a big deal.

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's case had evidence which was in circulation however the case of this pastor doesn't. Anybody can come on air to accuse a person but must be backed up with evidence e.g Stephanie Otobo vs Johnson Suleman. Otobo's evidence was so strong that I had to watch her confession and her evidence. Although the case had ended, hers was more convincing that Tim's wife. However many dont buy the idea that she lied against the pastor after she cleared the air.
The strategy by the victim and her team is to tarnish the image of the pastor which will now result in a law suit. I prefer when cases are handed in court of law rather than media trial. But if the victim choose to use media trial then she must come out with evidence. I want to believe somebody refused to bribe hence the blackmail. Reasonable Nigerians should use apply common sense before drawing conclusion.This does not dispute the fact that the pastor is innocent but evidence is required. Except you buy the notion that I call you a thief when I don't have evidence.

If you call me a thief, I won't wait for you to provide your proof of my theft because you can make it up. I'll go to the furthest length to prove my innocence not wait for you to decide my guilt for me. Bros has been accused THREE TIMES. Yet, no ddfence, no evidence that any of the accusations were false. Neymar was accused just once and the brother brought receipts to declare his innocence. By the way, with all the evidence, Ganduje is still not a convicted criminal. By legal standards, you have no right to call him corrupt.

The burden of proof is on both parties! Prove the person's guilt or prove your innocence. You are asking the Dakolos to provide proof but not the pastor to provide proof of his own innocence.

As for why I'm looking closely at the possibility of his guilt, well what is there not to look at. Someone has been accused of rape thrice. He has not properly addressed any of these accusations or provided proof of his innocence. This is even the first time he's refuting any accusations. How can you say there's nothing to look into here?

Shey he said he'll be suing the Dakolos. I'm waiting for that lawsuit. Remember his "robust response" for Ese's allegation that we're still waiting for? We might wait for that lawsuit for a long time too.
