The 2016 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is generating a lot of controversy and confusion among candidates as regards their results. With the results being released daily, followed by lamentations by candidates who scored less than 200 and others yet to see their result due to biometric verification issues, the activities of Internet Fraudsters targeting desperate JAMBites has grown astronomically. These Fraudsters have used different tactics to get to unsuspecting students. Some sent bulk sms to Jambites with Sender names like "JAMB", "JAMB PORTAL" etc. asking them to pay certain amount of money for their result to be upgraded. Some created posts on different Online Forums describing a fake procedure to hack into JAMB's database. They fill their write-ups with jargon to confuse Jambites who are then asked to call a particular phone number for assistance Some used different Alias to comment on different blogs/ websites claiming to have been helped by one Jamb official or the other whom they will now suggest to other Jambites to call. Their tricks are just too many to mention. To JAMBites; DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THOSE FRAUDSTERS!! DO NOT PAY MONEY TO SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW FOR SOMETHING YOU ARE AWARE IS ILLEGAL, THERE IS NOTHING LIKE JAMB RESULT UPGRADE!! STOP POSTING YOUR PHONE NUMBERS OPENLY ONLINE!! LET HE WHO HAVE EAR HEAR!!! Source: http://campusportalng.com/jamb/jamb-result-upgrade-scam-beware-of-fraudsters/2882/ |

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde has stated that candidates participating in the 2016 Computer based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, will get their results after 30 minutes of the examination. Speaking to reporters ahead of the examination, Ojerinde said that candidates will receive a graphical result of the test via SMS on their mobile phone numbers which they provided during registration. However, the JAMB boss added that the specific scores will be released within the period of four days and would be checked online. Analyzing the statistics of UTME registration, Ojerinde said there had been a steady decline since 2013 when the CBT was introduced. In 2013, about 1.7 million people registered for UTME, in 2014, the number fell to 1.6 million, while about 1.4 million registered in 2015 examination. However, this year the numbers of candidates who registered has increased to over 1.5 million. Source: http://campusportalng.com/jamb/jamb-computer-based-test-exam-result-released-same-day/3076/ |
