Beside if my mother is the one worrying her, then my wife has to tell me because i know how to handle the issue, the one reason she will have the guts to retaliate back is when i am not playing my role as a husband to maintain peace. Avoid cliches, please. Telling someone in the depth of despair that “everything happens for a reason” or “it will pass” isn’t helpful. Nor will lies like “lots of people care about you”, or “you have lots of friends”.

Ultimately there is nothing to “always” say to someone in depression. Words won’t help.

What you can do is show you care and are there for them, with your actions.

Visit them, help get the dishes done, help clean the bathroom, take out their garbage, offer to make them a bubble bath. Take them a nice soft blanket to snuggle up in. A new set of pillows can make someone’s whole month. They won’t ask for help, even when they need it. But know that in the depth of a severe depression, doing anything at all takes herculean effort.

Depression causes a lot of physical pain. Helping someone be more comfortable is one of the best things you can do. They don’t have the strength, energy or motivation to clean, tidy or cook a decent meal. Take them for dinner or make them something they like to eat. Don’t ask them how they are. Instead, talk about things that you did, a bird you saw that day, a funny conversation with someone. If they want to talk, they will, but don’t push.

Often just spending time sitting beside someone watching tv can be enough. They may not respond but that kind of gesture means the world. My friends all vanished within a couple of years of me getting sick. Just one person caring enough to keep in touch and come visit even once every week or two would have meant the world. I have one friend who comes by for about 1/2 hour once a year. Even that, I appreciate, because it means I still exist to them.

i dont have hiv as i did the test several times all negative, but i suspect i have cancer cux of the presence of a swollen lymph node on my neck. guys im truly tired and depressed i cant hustle normally because of my condition please if you know anything that can boost my immunity tell me. because of my condition i know a lots of antibiotics like cipro,amoxyl,doxycline,clarithromycin,azithromycin e.t.c i dont know why these doctors never get tired of prescribing these drugs to me. i live constanly with a stomach discomfort, fever, flu, colds nd catarh there is no any known ulcer meds that i hvnt take in my life but i am still thesame. its depressing me nd making me suicidal. i dont need money from anyone i just need help from people that went through thesame situation or people that know of a solution.

There was a time someone cough on me i spent complete 2weeks sick.

Better don't listen to that. Most if not all men love beautiful and flashy ladies but not fake. Too much of everything is bad obviously. Minimal makeup that fits, eyelashes not unecessary long, nice dress for the body type, nice skin all contributes to a woman's beauty and men love it when done in moderation. What every high value man i. e a man with money really wants is a woman is her youth( you must be young) and beauty. Like I said in the second part of my comment, trophy conquests don't seem so trophy like any more; and the jealousy factor that they excite in your fellow man has largely disappeared. Underneath all that paint, fake lashes, fake nails etc, the most local farmer's daughter has as much to offer than any flashy woman. Also, what a woman conceives to be pretty is not the same as what a man conceives to be pretty. Women think fake and flashy is pretty. Men think simple and honest to be pretty. You are wrong my sister, we do go for the hardworking, thrifty and modest Nigerian woman, but only when we want to get married. Bling bling women are only for a quick lay and to parade in front of the brothers as trophy conquests. But these days, trophy conquests are looking stale and homogenous (they all use the same bleach, face paint, fake parts and false hair) so no man wants to pay through the nose to parade a bling bling girl when every other guys' girlfriends look almost exactly the same.
