Well if we start the season in top form it will bring some calm here...I still want us to sign another midfielder that is defensively sound and can pass. Mount should be an option when we are up against teams that'll pack the bus, it is the reason I am all for the signing of Amrabat.

From comments online, it looks like Garnacho had a great game.

Casemiro is a concern though but I trust him to be back in top shape as the season progresses.

Lastly, you guys should calm down here. All these gear-ups for drags and banter are not necessary. If Onana or Mount fails here, it is on all of us. Let's be positive here, we will have a great season and all the new signings will be very instrumental to it.

Hopefully, Greenwood is allowed back...That will be the icing on the cake.

A better midfield and attack would have seen us perform much better than we did last season than just a better keeper that can play out of the back much better. If we have all the passing from back and possession and our attack is blunt, we will still run into problems.

We were very poor in attack last season and our midfield was average for the most part. It is the reason I was not keen on replacing DDG when we have other areas in the team/squad begging for improvements.

You could say that we’ve gotten phase 1 sorted out with the addition of Onana.

Teams won’t press us anyhow with the conviction that they can catch us in possession and score easy goals. After 3 unsuccessful attempts (where they nearly concede or actually concede goals- depending on Rashford and Antony’s mood) , they’ll probably fall back and concede possession to us.

This will give us more control over games but then the onus will be on us to dismantle the bus that they’ll park. This is where ETH has his work cut out for him.

His tactics and his player’s profile matters a lot here. We have Bruno, Sancho and vDBeek who know how to create space inside a pack of bodies. Then, our attackers have to be more clinical. After that, we have to pick our moments of transition carefully and the execution has to be top notch.

ETH has to find a working formula. If not, e don fokop.

You guys are over rate this playing out from the back. Do you think teams will be forced to change their pattern of play against us because of Onana alone?

I am more focused on our attack and midfield because I believe they're key to how we will play. I said here last season that some of the assists credited to Man City wingers will pass for a wrong pass here because our forwards would not position themselves well and even if they do, they won't make the effort.

Some of the balls De Gea hoofs and we highlight them as wrong play will be judged differently if we have Ivan Toney as our CF.

My with the Glazers isn't about lack of spending but more about lack of direction. You can't go from a manager that favours possession to another that favours counter to another that favours possession to another that favours a quick transition.

That's why whenever we get a new manager we start all over again because the players just don't fit.

I don't see any club paying above 20m for Martial...We just have to count our losses on some of these players and move on...
