but why was Gideon Akaluka murdered in such a dastardly manner? Because the Almajiris, and I dare say Nigerian Muslims, need education which quintessentially aims to: (i) deconstruct their misconceptions about the religious and/or non-religious 'Other'; (ii) develop their critical thinking skills and rational autonomy; and (iii) liberate them from the shackles of Islamic fundamentalism. |
This girl, like many Indians I've met, is incredibly full of herself and definitely has an attitude. Beauty is not simply about looks but about one's character. IWA NI EWA. |

That a complete stranger/foreigner could officially obtain a Nigerian passport is mind-boggling. Any wonder many black criminals who aren't really Nigerians, but holding Nigerian passports, end up claiming to be Nigerians to further tarnish Nigeria's already battered image, ultimately hiding their real and actual identities! That said, it's one thing to get into the UK illegally, it's another thing to survive here without the requisite papers. |
Religion is the biggest scam of all time! |
@ Da Doctor: What's the shouting about? @ Poster: Potential suitors, in my opinion, may not be scared by how rich these comfortable sisters are, but with the source of their comfort/wealth. Many of us are too familiar with stories of how these sisters working in Nigerian banks allegedly 'sleep' around with potential depositors in order to meet set targets. Who would want to end up with these so-called comfortable sisters who might continue to ply their trade even after the wedlock? |
Abraham is the FATHER OF FAITH. Yet, he lied on several occasions, sometimes, to advance God's purposes in his life. Deception is, in deed, on of the themes which, to a varying degree, runs through the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament and the New Testament. Further, do some readings around what in Christian ethical theory is known as situational ethics. You'll find the works of Joseph Fletcher handy (e.g. Situation Ethics: The New Morality. Philadelphia: Westminster Press). Also, do some readings around the philosophical concept called moral relativism and you'll realise that nothing --even the so-called truth--is absolute. |
This thief should have been hand-cuffed and chained in both legs. After all, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the Former International Monetary Fund Chief, received the golden braclet award. |
This is hilarious |
It's a shame that many African cultures, many of which bear resemblance to those of the Civilizations of the Ancient Near East, have been traded with Western European Civilizations. Polygamy is one of the elements of traditional African culture which, sadly, has been subtituded with/for monogamy. From Bill Clinton (former USA president) to John Major (former UK prime minister), from Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (ex-California Governor) to the brainy, but disgraced, Jeffrey Archer (former deputy chairman of the UK Conservative Party), from Archbishop Richard Burke (the erstwhile Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Benin City) to Rev Dr Albert Odulele (of the Glory House International in East London), the reality is that people should have the liberty and the autonomy to practise polygamy or enter into "open marriage" which typically refers to a marriage in which the partners agree that each may engage in 'condomised' extramarital sexual relationships, without this being regarded as infidelity. If these were to be the case, the likes of Ryan Giggs and Tigger Woods would simply have been considered to be following their own conceptions of the good/worthwhile. |
omg! i thought nigerians are cultured. |
Rather than for Nigerians to face the teething problem of governance facing the country, Nigeria and its inhabitants ignore reality, chasing, as it were, the shadows. Sadly, Olusegun Obasanjo, the (alleged) incestuous ex-President under whose regime homosexuality was criminalised hasn't cleared his name concerning the allegation of i.n.c.e.s.t. In moral and political philosophy, autonomy is one of the hallmarks of libertarianism. Can we, for the sake of justice, peace and liberty, let homosexuals, as autonomous individuals, lead/pursue their own conception of the good! |
This guy should have all his assets fully confiscated and jailed for life. Other Rep Members should be made to dance to the same music. |
This, in my humble opinion, epitomises the calibre of PhDers being churned out of Nigerian universities. It's become an absolute joke and ridicule. What many academics publish in Nigerian academic journals would not make it into international academic journals. To prove this case, someone I know recently re-submitted 6 journal articles written by one Nigerian academic within the last 2 years and resubmitted to high impact academic journals in the UK and the US. They were promptly rejected. They never went beyond the initial editors' review because the respective editors adjudged the papers as extremely weak. Yes, there are Nigerian academics who get published in high impact journals in Europe and the Americas, yet there are several others paying to get published in dodgy European and American journals. |
ak47mann:FYI: Whatever gave you that impression is your problem. Nigerians, like you, are good at making unverified claims. tpia@: |
And still, the IGP went to pay him a social visit (presumably to obtain his own share of the so-called national cake and subsequently shield him from arrest?) Can you imagine how far this money would go if invested into the education or health sectors or better still in creating jobs for millions of jobless Nigerians. May be blood of the suffering Nigerian masses, forever, cry for justice upon the head of Dimeji Bankole and every member of the House of Rep who shared in this N10bn. |
What stopped the OGHA from impeaching him. Here is a stupid man who religious leaders particularly the Anglican Bishops of Egba (Mr Adekunle) and Remo (Mr Fape) close ranks with praising him, rather than tongue-lash him, in different church services. Nigeria is fool of idiots, even amongst the so-called political and religious leaders. Gone are the days of the likes of Bishop Gbonigi, formerly of Akure Diocese. |
Nigeria remains a hopelessly doomed country where its Inspector General of Police (IGP) has the gut to aver, in a national media, that he 'visited, purely on social grounds', the erstwhile (Rogue) Speaker of Nigeria's House of Representative, Dimeji Bankole (In fact, I wonder why he's still addressed as Honorable in spite of his countless dishonourable acts). As the Police Chief of the entire nation, he should have made good use of his office by facilitating the arrest Dimeji Bankole. By doing otherwise, he has blatantly assaulted the intelligence and sensibilities of all Nigerians without an exception, treating its countrymen and women as fools. This country is irrevocably damned. |
Every day, I bless and thank my late Great-grandad, for permanently relocating from Nigeria to the UK, making it possible for my grandparents and my parents to become British citizens. Out of interests, I follow what goes on in this Banana republic called, Nigeria -- a nation that is eternally doomed. |
