Politics › Clarification On Late Abba Kyari's Age by patwilly(op): 6:16pm On Apr 18, 2020 |
Social media space has been filled with details of the late chief of staff to PMB, Abba Kyari in light of his recent death from Covid -19 virus. However, its striking that there's been several discrepancies in his age. Some say he's in his 70s, others say he was 81. Channels TV in their tribute to him peg his year of birth as 1952. So the question is which is it? Here's how Wikipedia puts it Abba Kyari OON (17 November 1938 – 17 April 2020) was a Nigerian politician who served as Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abba_Kyari_(politician)

Politics › Shocking Wikipedia Profile Of Minister Sadiya Farouk Umar by patwilly(op): 5:13pm On Apr 15, 2020 |
I just read through the wiki profile of the Hon minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Farouk Umar and what I read is quite shocking. It looks like something some very malicious persons have put up for no just reason but to score cheap political points. The question is if she or her handlers are aware of this. you can see for yourself here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadiya_Umar_FarouqA part of the article reads: In the fall of 2019, a social intervention initiative by the Federal government Known as the NPOWER graduate programme, was transferred to the Ministry she head where she has done woefully and disastrously. This shows her total incompetence and ineptitude. She has failed the program and the volunteers in several ways. Her failures include; Non payments of volunteers stipends as at when due, failed communication to volunteers and embezzlement of public funds. Sadiya is yet to pay the beneficiaries' stipends of the month of March, 2020 when the world is witnessing a full blown Pandemic of the Corona Virus outbreak. [1][2] Farouk is seen to be one of the closest ministers in the current cabinet and many refer to her as a "supper minister". |

Family › Re: My Landlord Does House Chores For His Children, Fetches Water For Them by patwilly(m): 9:35pm On Apr 09, 2020 |
Micky002: There is this scenerio i usually observe with my landlord and his children which always makes me curious and also raises unanswered question within me. This prompt me to post this here.
My landlord is idoma by tribe and has six grown up children, three boys and three girls. He should be in his late fifties or early sixties. Here is the issue.
This man despite having grown up boys and girls always do his chores by himself while the children will be lazying around engaging in trivial discussions. This man will wash his clothes by himself while his girls, the youngest being twenty years of age will be chatting with friends in the compound. This man will go to fetch water with kegs using a wheel barrow every morning while the boys will sit outside doing nothing.
Meanwhile the water he fetches is used by every member of the house. This man can go up to three to four trips while the boys will be busy arguing about Manchester United and Chelsea with friends.
What baffles me the most is that they see nothing wrong in this because the man doesn't complain and his wife, their mother is also witnessing everything.
My question now is, is this an acceptable norm in their (Idoma) culture? For a father to be doing the house chores while the children will be playing. I'm asking because where I come from, it is unacceptable. The answer is a capital NO! I'm idoma by tribe and I can assure you I'm astonished reading this piece. If you weren't so lucid in your narrative, I'd have said you were lying. However, I must state here, very clearly that this situation is a major character flaw of the man alone and in no way, shape or form does it reflect the culture of the Idoma tribe. The idoma's are trained from birth to be very respectful, very courteous and to exhibit discipline in all areas and I can assure you, this sort of character would have earned condemnation, spite and rebuke if the man's relatives or larger extended family are in the know about this. |

You guys ever notice when buildings belonging to govt agencies burn, its always offices in the top storey. Fire never occurs in the offices close to ground floor and why? Because it most essentially always a cover up. The important offices are up-storey anyway. |

Ipobian now have a new hero, the show off was very silly.. you lost 90 soldiers, went back with camera crew and killed less than 90, yet you are forming chuck noris
funny thing is that Buhari and Derby had met on battle field both as Generals and Commanders, and Buhari humiliated Derby badly chasing him to his capital city and almost killing him, until Shagari called for retreat
Even Chadian forces are lead by Nigerian Soldiers same as Multi National Joint task Force, their Officers are trained and retrained at our Military instituition

My problem is with the lady who wore a yellow overcoat during the second wave of questions. She was just chewing gum not minding she was on national TV. Her disposition was rather rude and unprofessional and the manner she asked her questions indicated she was trying to show off or form or something. Very stupid Lady. MetaPhysical: Everyday, by its action in the civil and military matters, religious and political affairs, in incremental steps Nigeria will actualize Biafra.
What the Biafrans couldnt get going to battle, will be dropped on their lap at no risk.
If I were Ipob I would rejoice on this story.
The government has fvckd up many Army Generals, in service or retired, and got them to a position of resentment. An Army Officer should not be disgruntled. If one General is disgruntled, hundreds more are having a bad day in silence. When they revolt the political fabric of the nation will be torn to shreds. Constitution will fail and sovereingty will collapse. I completely agree with you. I'm not from the east but I must say this, what the Biafrans couldn't achieve in war, they might just achieve in peace time. At the rate this country is being misgoverned, it will drop in their laps on a platter of Gold. |

Contact officers like Gen. Alabi Isama. I think he worked in Asaba with your grand daddy before the start of the civil war. Alternatively, write to established historians on Nigerian military history like Dr. nowa omoigui or max sioullun. They certainly have connects or sources that might be of help. I'm sure they will have some questions to ask about your late grand dad as well. Good luck.
PS: On your own, you may like to provide on here some closet information about your grand daddy. What was he like, his personality, education, experience etc. I've always been intrigued by the name trimnell. Reading about Nigerian history in my youth, I was solely convinced the name belonged to a white person until further information revealed otherwise. Was he biracial I.e. half caste? Thanks. |
