Nollywood stars cover Baby Jowo

Tade Ogidan is a legendary TV and movie producer. He brought together some Nigerian actors and actresses and got them to do a cover of Victor Olaiya's classic song, Baby Jowo.

Richard Mofe Damijo is the lead singer, can you identify the other actors and actresses?

OGD All Stars - Baby Jowo (2008).

naptu2 , please what's the name of the second singer after RMD..Been trying to remember his name for a long time now. Thank you.
Yes! I've gotten his name..Lanre Balogun. He was quite popular in Nollywood films in the late 90sand early 00s. He acted in a film..Battle of Love featuring Segun Arinze, Ramsey Noah, Rekiya Attah etc. I don't know if he's still alive though. Its been ages I heard about him.

I think World war three is going to be a religious war. A war between Christians, Muslims and non adherents of any religion. A supreme clash of faith and belief. At the end of it all, Einstein's prediction may just come through.. "I know not with what weapons World war 3 will be fought, but world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones"
PoliticsOkada And Keke Ban In Lagos: What Happens During The Rainy Season? by patwilly(op): 5:17pm On Feb 03, 2020
I think this is an ill-thought policy, elitist and insensitive in design and application. What then happens to commuters when the rains begin to fall for as we all know in Lagos, it pours and pours endlessly. Unless some smart Alec somewhere has already thought out solutions to this mess, I fail to see how lagosians will survive this policy. In the immortal words of Winston Churchill "this is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma"
EducationRe: What Is The Difference Between School, Faculty And College? by patwilly(m): 12:42pm On Feb 01, 2020
fergie001:
It's all semantics....for administrative purposes.

A school will streamline into courses in a particular subject area.

A faculty position entails a more broader organisational structure.

In Nigeria.....Universities of Technology use School
Universities of Agriculture use College
Conventional Universities use Faculty

A college will not always be headed by a Provost.
This is the best post so far.

Make no mistake about, it’s only a matter of time before Corona arrives naija. With over 200M people, porous borders and little/no controls.... it’s a no brainer.

What preventive measures have this government put in place to manage this virus when it hits Nigeria?

Have the government educated the masses enough on preventive measures and symptoms?

Which outfits/ hospitals/ groups have been put on notice to tackle this virus once it hits coast?

Of course it’s no priority for the government, Buhari’s immediate focus is to shield and propagate bokoharam and herdsmen while balkanizing the judiciary for political gains.

Not sure God is interested in saving Nigeria otherwise people like Buhari will never have been president.
Your last paragraph got me LMAO. Wetin we go do now bros..?

Suffering and smiling. Be civil to them. Other countries are stoning failed elected officials, Nigerians are advocating civility to their mega thieves.

Issorite. Remain civil. We are a laughing stock to others. Go read that article that said the Nigerian government spent over 1 trillion Naira on electricity alone.

God! When are you guys gonna wake up?

You are complaining that people are behind their phones showing their rage and yet you would prefer they don't show their rage at all. What kinda thinking is that?

Let the insults start from social media. Let the leaders read these insults and know that they only have sycophants surrounding them.

Or maybe you are a child of one of them politicians. Then I've been wasting my time here then.
If I ask him what he has achieved three years after NYSC, I'm sure he will say receiving 30 k Npower salary..The state of the youths of this country!

For starters I don't bow to politicians and I passed through NYSC three years ago

All I'm saying is that people should be civil when commenting on issues because insults and all won't change or solve the problems the country is facing...

From your comments, I can see that you are angry and I must tell u that u are not alone. Most Nigerians are not happy with the state of the Nation but most Nigerians have decided not to do anything about it too

Instead of demanding for real change, people hide behind their phones and form e-warriors but when it comes to matching words with action, they'll say they don't wanna die, they have kids at home, giving one excuse after the other grin
Shut your gaddemm mouth...the guy has schooled you and you are still yapping... if ever the day comes and I hope it is soon, the elites who have bastardized this country will pay with their lives and I'll have no problems putting the nozzle of my AK down your courteous and "respectful" mouth if you feel as much as a smidgen of sympathy for these so called elderly men. Who the hell do you think you are lecturing anyone on here on respect?

Silly comparison.

If all your parents did was to spend their money partying and neglected to feed you, shelter you, clothe you, or even remember to send you to school for even the basic education, but kept on flying from one continent to another enjoying their lives while they left you in the care of nannies or even grandma in the village, will you bless them and pray for them and give them the respect they don't deserve?

Keeping bowing to them politicians. You will understand that they aren't your parents.

I guess you still stay with your folks, right? That's why you probably feel politicians should be respected.

Finish NYSC first and start searching for a non existent job for the next ten years, then you will know what's up.
You are right. I don't know what is Sparogs problem with respect. Here we are talking about how to line up these elderly men and have them shot for their crimes, and sparog is talking about dobale-ing...Nigeria has no elders, only useless old men that should be drawn, quartered and shot in no particular order.

Catholics are highly learned and cerebral and he should not throw his ussual fulani rant and bigotry towards them as they would floor and humilaiate his lineage

..
Word! it's like I said earlier, Reno went to one jeun jeun pastoral school and suddenly, like the butterfly that calls himself bird arrogates all knowledge on Christianity to himself forgetting that a certain people handed to him the scriptural text he now uses. You cannot know the sex position your father used in impregnating your mom and that resulted in you except he tells you. This is even a junior Priest taking him to the cleaners.. If ever I was caught out in lie like Reno, I'd delete all my social media handles and stay off social media forever. That's how much I value my reputation!

Catholic Priests are the last people you want to hold an argument with if you are not intellectually sound. These are well read, perennial scholars steeped in the wordings of theology and history with rigorous training lasting ten years. Reno probably thought he'd bulldoze his way with half lies and untruths forgetting he's not dealing with some so called "pastor" who went to six months theological school. SilentRiddles:
"lucky to be promoted" undecided undecided undecided?

Who writes these releases? Top level promotion in an institution as important as the national army was in part a process of "luck"? undecided undecided

Did they define and analyse the meaning of "luck" in a standard dictionary? Or they just decided to throw it in there cos Nigerians like to use the word a lot?

Let promoted generals, their families and true friends use the word in private, but in official documents, that word is wrong and communicates a wrong message about the process. It could mean some of the promoted generals just got "lucky" and may in truth not be deserving of the upgrade.

By the way, when will this Arabic inscription be corrected? I don't expect the religious/ethnic bigot currently there to do anything, but I know someday soon, the right thing will be done.
Thank you very much. You hit the nail on the head. I thought I was the only one that saw that gaffe. Col. Musa Sagir is known for his very bad English in his press releases. Makes me wonder if he's the best the Nigerian Army could find for such a sensitive position. Quota system stuff no doubt. I shudder to think how a foreign national or foreign military personnel reading this press release would think. I can just see him saying "so these Nigerian army generals are products of mere luck " . It denigrates and reduces in value the quality and ambience of our military generals. Already, all I'm thinking in my head is " lucky generals" ...not competent or well trained generals.. It's pure BS.

Jakumo:
Footage showing the 1971 firing squad shooting of armed robbery kingpin "Dr." Ishola Oyenusi, is still bouncing around youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3JvfEMwpF4

In the above footage, Dr. Oyenusi marches confidently to the execution stakes, despite his leg chains, at the 31 second mark. Dr. Oyenusi's calm and stoic demeanor stands in contrast to the obvious despair of his fellow travelers as they are tied up, causing one to lose his mind and babble maniacally until the last instant, while the rest appeared to slump into a state of semi-consciousness even before the final rites were offered by clergy, moments before the order to fire rang out.

Even at the 1 minute 50 second mark as the rifles boomed, Dr. Oyenusi shows few outward signs of feeling the impact tonnage applied by those red hot bullets, long after the others had sagged against their ropes. A career armed robber renowned for showing no mercy, Dr. Oyenusi showed no fear even at the moment when all others around him lost their sanity in the face of impending death.

And so it was that Dr. Oyenusi entered Nigerian folklore, as the quintessential arch-villain who lived and died by the gun.
Thanks Jakumo for digging this up. Revealing.
