slimfit1: Senator for how many years no single bill sponsored that makes impact on the people then you think you can rule over them just to come and pay salaries and loot mr man my people are not daft like other state that I'm not going to mention ( kogi, bayelsa and the rest )It'll be unfair if we ignore what Omisore did when he was a senator even if we don't want him as a governor. Omisore increased the monthly allocation for Osun when he was in the senate while Oyinlola was the governor, he thought he would be the next governor after Oyinlola, but I think destiny says otherwise. |
Omisore should better forget about ever governing Osun. It's a pity he came from the same senatorial district with Aregbe, I would have adviced him to go back to the senate. But the Ijeshas that are the majority in his senatorial district won't let that happen. In short, he should look elsewhere for relevance outside Osun. Perhaps, GEJ can make him a minister or an ambassador. |
Aside the election malpractices, Omisore was able to get a vote that much because of the way Aregbe has been handling the civil servants. He pays their salaries at undue time. I believe Ogbeni didn't have up to 2% vote of the civil servants. It's not as if another candidate would have defeated Ogbeni if the PDP didn't nominate Omisore. The civil servants just wanted Aregbe out, but they couldn't because the support base of Aregbe is too strong. Had it been Ogbeni was in goodterm with the civil servants, Omisore wouldn't have had a vote close to 200k. |
If Aregbe contest under APGA in Osun, he'ld still win.

Aregbesola more popular than APC – Poll A recent survey conducted by a firm, TNS-RMS, a member of Gallup International, says Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, is more popular than his party, the All Progressives Congress, in the state The report, which was released on Thursday, said in the two-phased survey carried out between June and July, 73 per cent of Osun voters chose Aregbesola while 19 per cent chose Iyiola Omisore of the Peoples Democratic Party. The report added that confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission stood at 57 per cent. The report put the votes of Alhaji Fatai Akinbade of the Labour Party at one per cent. According to the polls, 98 per cent of the electorate in Osun have said they will participate in the election and are ready for all eventualities in the election. It read in part, “According to the study, the incumbent governor, Rauf Aregbesola, is the candidate of choice by Osun voters with a 73 per cent lead over other candidates. Meanwhile, Senator Iyiola Omisore of the PDP polled 19 per cent, representing a two per cent decline from the earlier survey. “The APC has largely retained this goodwill from way back in the past. It was the party that most people claimed to have voted for in the last election and it is still the party with the highest chances of winning the election again. More importantly, the gap by which it outperforms opposition continues to widen and more convincing in the current survey,” the report added. “While Aregbesola is more known than his party, Omisore is less known than his party. Top-of-mind awareness of Aregbesola increased to 85 per cent (from 79 per cent), affinity increased from 72 per cent to 74 per cent and chances of being re-elected increased from 71 per cent to 73 per cent.” http://www.punchng.com/news/aregbesola-more-popular-than-apc-poll/

Obiagelli: lol @ NPF. Aregbesola should not disappoint this people o.He must not. The love the people of Oshogbo particularly have for him is different. |
atlwireles: Did I see security officers with Aregbe's victory sign? Are these the same ones that came militarize Osun. APC make una fear good. Those are the normal ones of the 5K the state has originally. Those brought to the state have been packing since yesterday. Passed by their trucks and vans in Ondo on my way to Benin this morning. |
oduastates: Mr Man,I'm presently in Oshogbo, because here is my main hood. Not just bag of rice was shared here before the election like it was done in Ekiti, but hard cash was doled out. From 2K per person, to 10k. It came to a time each person got 15K and some got 25K. It wasn't as if the average street person in Osun didn't collect the money, they even queued for it in their thousands. I posted this on this forum a day before the election PaulJohn1: As I type this, cash is being shared at Technical school field and also at freedom park here is Osogbo. The cash sharing process is also being monitored by our federal police from FCT, with two of their choppers boldly written "POLICE". No doubt it's from politicians in Aso Rock, probably out of the alleged missing $20bn.But it didn't work for them. They then resulted to locking up of very influencial APC members and supporters same night before the election. All these eventually didn't give them victory. Like I said earlier, "States like Osun, Kano..." are the few states that can withstand the federal might of manipulation used in Ekiti's election. It's not the rice shared that gave them victory in the state, but very sophisticated manipulation. |
Ikengawo: or the people of Ekiti chose Fayose and the people of Osun chose Aregbesola. That's your opinion. Under normal circumstance, Fayemi had a better chance or winning Ekiti than Aregbe winning Osun. They both performed well and Fayemi had little or no controversies surrounding him unlike Aregbe, yet Aregbe won and Fayemi didn't. How come?! |
I assume many of us who rained insult on the people of Ekiti in several threads, after the outcome of Osun's election are simply ignorant of the intimidation and clampdown on APC members and supporters by the ruling party before and during the election. Very few states (I.e. Osun, Kano & Lagos) can withstand the federal might used in Ekiti's election. The intimidation from the security officers that were deployed to the state to prevent irregularities is terrible. Lest we forgot these ministries are controlled by diehard PDP guys(koro and this other guy from Osun handling the Police affairs ministry). It's obvious that they are desperate to win more states (SW states especially) for the rulling party. Osun also would have been won, but because of the longtime anti PDP that majority of Osun people are, they couldn't succeed. They tried and even did worse in Osun. From doling out of cash, to locking up of over 250 influential APC members a night before the election and deployment of 75,000 security officials. All these earned them the 290,000 votes they had in the state. I assume the Ekiti people couldn't handle the tsunami the PDP went with to win the state. It's not because of the rice shared(stomach infrastructure) as we think. @Desola especially, stop the insult. ![]() |
Although rigging is already going on by all parties in the state. From sharing of money for gullible voters to stealing of ballot papers and worse acts I won't like to disclose here to avoid implication. I think it's still essential I post this, may be it'll help to minimize rigging. ![]() Call this number 0800 6786 6786 at anytime you discover any misconduct or rigging in your area during the election. You don't have to reply the operator, they'll trace the call and get to the area the call came from within Fifteen(15) minutes. There are fast vans and choppers on ground. Good luck to MY people of Osun |
There ain't election anymore, the rigger wins it all. |
Zionope: U don't have to drop ur PVC, here in Ife; d bag of rice is exchanged for the card's barcode, phone no and d voters name. Thanks, I just heard that same is happening at the other side of Oshogbo. N25k for your PVC details. We should all forget about the election not being rigged. An info just got in now that an INEC official was caught with ballot papers, even though the papers have not been shared from the headquarters. |
Neyoor: Live from Ikire!Did they drop their voters card to get the bag of rice? |
Ayire: ayire reporting from ife east local govt, ife ife, early hours of today there has been distribution of rice and money by apc gubernatorial candidate (not in person), I no some one that benefited, I guess they want to round up in frenzy pace, major roads Ar been blocked right now, round about in ife ife is locked down and police are everywia . 10 vehicle convoysI thought it was only the PDP guys that were sharing stuffs. I also learnt that the LP candidate also shared cash yesterday, here in Oshogbo. It's saddening that politics here is not based on performance, ideology and candidates' record. |
23 hours/day. Olorunda LGA, Oshogbo. Osun state. |
Neyoor: It doesn't matter they pay the sacrifice to vote for the incumbent, they might do it to vote for anyother candidate. It's their wish to do their right by votingOk |
MORNDEW: No oo. I mean u shud enlighten ur neighbours nd d ppl u com in contact with daily abt d dangers of all dis. Tanx. Cheers.May be before 2015 election, it's late for the one at hand. |
Neyoor: Ok, the people have to pay the sacrifice by moving to the poll they registered at.Well. Those along Ido-Osun road can do because Argbe tared their road for them. I doubt if the people in the opposite area(Ayo-olorun est.) Would, because he hasn't done much for them, aside giving them a waste tank, which he latter removed. Although there are some of his real fans there. |
MORNDEW: too bad. Pls u can do d best u can to enlighten d ppl around u abt d dangers of dis i know its hard to convince ppl without ommon sense bt pls do dis just for your own contribution to National development.U mean I should go and talk to thousands of croud?! Lol. Even with armed police that are not just carying the normal AKs we're used to. Naa, no way. |
Neyoor: Was there no polling boot in those places before or they've blocked them? That's correct. I was told so. Wasn't around when the registration was on. |
Security personal everywhere here in Osogbo. Entering the capital from Iwo, there are like two to three checkpoints. There are checkpoints for those also coming from Ilobu. I passed through not less than six checkpoints while entering Osogbo from Ogun state yesterday, passed through Abere down to Ola-Iya. Also passed through government house(Bola Ige's house) in the morning. Security there was tight. Saw this red painted military tank as well. Enough masked DSS all around, with guns I saw last in video games(Halo, SOF, COD...). Everywhere is calm in short, with those sharing whatever they like to buy voters card. |
Reporting from Oshogbo. Covering Dada Estate, Omobolanle and Ayo-olorun Estate. No polling point at Omobolanle, but we have like 3 or more in Dada est. This means residence of Ayo-Olorun est., 'Omobolanle and Dele yes sir' would have to move to Dada est.to cast their votes. This I doubt, because no one would like to treck as far as Dada est. Just to vote since there'll be no vehicular movement till the evening of that day. One polling point is just beside Gazal hotel, behind Nike gallery. The other one is at the front of one palace-like house like that, almost facing Gazal. |
As I type this, cash is being shared at Technical school field and also at freedom park here is Osogbo. The cash sharing process is also being monitored by our federal police from FCT, with two of their choppers boldly written "POLICE". No doubt it's from politicians in Aso Rock, probably out of the alleged missing $20bn. Bikers got theirs from a bus loaded with cash at oke-fia yesterday. I assume this same process is going on in other towns and villages in the state. Too bad, the populace are ignorant that they'll pay for every single penny being shared when everything is over. When whoever is in charge then is to refund the distributed cash from their monthly allocation and IGR. Good luck to MY people of Osun.

poiZon: all the debaters in my secondary n primary school days were middle class students. not everybody have the intellectual ability to express his or herself but when it comes to action, u will be amazed by what he s got. so lets not judge people by hw they speak good english and can speak and subdue the downtroden with the vocal power but wen it comes to the real action, they are morons. having many SAs n PAs to assist them in office.Omisore can't communicate anything reasonable to his audience even in Yoruba. Out of the 4 words I heard and watched him speak @ yesterday's rally, 3 were in Yoruba (Atari ajanaku & tesojue). If one can't be fluent in the official language, at least he should do better in his mother's tongue. No excuse for that except you just wanna shy away from the truth. The guy is empty. Whereas, he and his party were referring to Aregbe as a refrigerator engineer. You need to watch and listen to the said refrigerator engineer speak(Yoruba or English), and you'll conclude he's miles ahead of his main rival(a Dr. & one time senator) intellectually. |
Omimah: Jonathan was a disappointmen at the rally. He was saying rubbish. This is the same man that would represent Nigeria in Washington DC on Monday.Agreed, but was better than omisore. Both of them sef...smh |
I was more disappointed in the Omisore of a guy. All I heard and watch him say was: Pee...Dee...Pee Tesojue Atari ajanaku And that was all ![]() Was expecting a well detailed and organised criticism of the incumbent. Oga Jona even talked more than the guy he came for. No wonder he never showed for the radio debate. The guy is just too empty. ![]() There is another TV debate tomorrow @ Leisure spring, I hope he'll be present. |
It's commedable that Ogun state government is at least constructing a bridge in that area, because most border towns between Lagos and Ogun state have always been neglected over the years. I really do pity people residing in areas like Akute, Ibafo... Although, more than 50% of the people living in these areas are connected to Lagos one way or the other, but LASG has never taken them as its resposibilty because they are outside Lagos state. And Ogun state government has also been ignoring then because they're believed to be Lagos extension, making inner cites(Abkt, Ijebu...) their priorities. They were mostly rememberd for tax. ![]() Present government of Ogun seem to be touching every part of the state. Noticed massive roads, bridges and flyovers being constructed at Ijebu and shagam few weeks I passed through. |
Konmight: The Local Government in Ijeshaland are....Oh, I'm wrong then. Noted |
Tolexander: M̶̲̥̅γ̲̣̣̥ device I̶̲̥̅̊s̶̲̥̅̊ faulty. That's the reason i didn't make any post f̶̲̥̅̊ọ̥я the past few days and i'm not used t̲̅o̶̲̥̅̊ bb stuffs.Okay. I noticed your absence too. Thanks for the link, I checked it and it confirms my assertion of Oshogbo being the most populatous town. Osogbo and Olorunda local governmnt areas are both in Osogbo, which are the first and third LGAs with the highest numbers of voters respectively, with a combined voters of over 180k. Going by the stat in that link, Ife is second in population then. Lastly, Ilesha has four LGAs and not two that you said. The whole of Ijesha has six LGAs. Have a good day. |
Tolexander: ya coming from me.Please, post them bro. |
dguyindcorner: Are you that frustrated?? earthgreeners: Weep not child.. Pele... Stop cryingTolexander I assume is a reasonable bro and he should have reasonable reason(s) for what he has said. No need to go mad for finding faults(which I also do) in your man. Although, Aregbe is still preferable for me than the main guy the opposition has. |
